Some startling stats, Grad is 7/31 passing on 3rd down and in his "magical" game against the Rams he went 4/13 in the 4th.

If I go back and watcch them all

how many will be dropped should have been caught passes? Or how many where he was being hit or pressured after a single step drop back and forced to chuck it?

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I dont know

But you would have to take both those factors into account with both QB’s

I have to say

You seem to have something against Grad and blow JCs horn (not literally not gay). I am going off your singled out statement about Grads numbers. I have not heard you (I may be wrong) talk in depth about JCs dropped passes.
My honest assessment. JC holds onto the ball way too long, and is afraid to let it fly. He is also not taking full advantage of his ability to run (cheap Michael Vick) to get yards and he doesn’t seem to scan the field well for receivers.
Grad seems to try too much and force some stuff and will not give in (bad when he is hurt or over training). Not a lot of arm strength so no deep threat. The O line seems to protect him better (not sure but it seems that way). After the last 2 seasons he seems to breaking down and won’t last long in the league that long if he keeps it up.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I dont feel like blaming QBs for drops is right, but were not told how many of those passes were dropped. We just have to go off what is there. If it told us how many were drops that is different . I dont think JC is some holy QB, I feel he our best QB but not amazing. His biggest weakness to me is he doesnt read coverages fast. the line played well for JC sunday but they do protect better for Grad who is terribly inaccurate. Hes too tough for his own good , he doest know his limitations. I used to love Grad but he hasnt played well this year so Im down on him

What's up with your crusade against Gradkowski??

It’s pretty obvious Jason will start this week. He has to deliver, and I hope he does. If not, unleash Boller.

This is what Jason said recently:
http://www.mercurynews.com/raiders-headlines/ci_16333638

“Maybe when I start throwing the ball away they won’t boo me,” he said. “It’s all part of the game. You live with it. If you play this position you have to be ready, you had better have
tough ears, and you had better have a mindset that can stay on track.”

You bet, Jason!

It's not a crusade against Grad

It’s just facts, that is how he played. We cant just put our hands over our ears yelling “bla bla bla but he beat Pittsburgh and is tough bla blah” when people talk about what he did wrong. It’s a post about the QB battle , those just happen to some of the numbers thrown around. If something like that was there for JC I’d say it

If he play better ya

Why not? But I dont think Boller is any good but if he plays good so be it

HAHAHAHA

Im often criticized for ignoring stats, ask anyone on Goldenstateofmind or even Rated R, how ironic. And yes I do play football, and if you clicked the link you’d see stats are not the point of the post. It’s just something I picked up on. I dont mind if a QB doesnt have a great % but at a certain point its unacceptable. 7/31? Terrible

You must blow then. Overall you are not convincing me with this "7/31? terrible" argument.

I would love to play vs. you and lay you out with a sweet helmet to helmet blindside hit whether I’m a WR or a DB, I would seek you out..

Also 7/31 is less than 25%

Worse then JR’s %

I didn't say he was worse

I said his % on 3rd downs is worse than JR’s overall which is bad. If he was down by so 5-10% it’d be okay since it’s 3rd down ‘s. But It’s more than 20 down.

Name 1 time I said Jamarcus Russell is better than Bruce Gradkowski. Just one where I clearly say that. Or you can admit to putting words in my mouth

That Rams game you brought up, demonstrates every reason why the coaches want Grad ahead of Campbell

It doesn’t mean Campbell can’t improve, and he did last week, but in that game there was no comparison in the quality of their performances and why the coaches would still maintain Grad is the starter.

I don’t know if you saw this or not but I wrote a piece dissecting the two’s play from that game.

The differences can’t be found in the stats.

GAMES CAMPBELL STARTS VERSUS GAMES GRADKOWSKI STARTS

CAMPBELL 14.5 PPG (very JR-like only a little more mediocre than horrible)
GRADKOWSKI 27.3 PPG

There are all the stats you need to know. Enough with your obsession.

He started 1 game against the Titans

And 1 half vs the Rams. Grad had much more time to play and get those points. Numbers need to be taken in context and sample size

Ummm sure.

Whatever you say I guess. That is a pretty weak argument for choosing one guy to start over another guy. I think points per game speaks for itself.

Well JC played 3/4 of the game against SD and we scored lots of points

Bruce played 3/4 of the Rams game and didnt score much. Its too bad those games dont go into the averages

Now you're just reaching.

If you go by that rationale, the score at halftime against the Rams was 7-3. Bruce was responsibe for 13 of the 16 points after halftime. Thus Bruce actually helped bump up Campbell’s average to 14.5 ppg. Had he stayed on the bench then the score could have been 14-6 Rams. So Campbell would be averaging 9.5 ppg actually. Don’t bring your agenda to these posts please. It is borderline trolling IMO.

Making a valid point with facts behind it isnt trolling

And by your logic when JC came in he boosted Grads average as well. Just saying, you need to look at these type of things equally
