Yes!

I can’t wait to see that match up! Although, like many QB’s in the league, Alex Smith may not even look in the direction of Nnam.

YES! ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY YES!

That fucking mouth needs a total shut down to make his weekend complete along with a loss to the Raiders.

This one started off way more in favor of yes

I think Crabtree saw and has since been voting non stop.

I would/do agree with you, BUT

I just think Routt and CJ, can handle CRabz !! Josh Morgan is more of a deep threat, were as Crabz is an under route runner. Set his azz up, play the outside, force him to the middle, and see how much he cries when he gets hit !!!

by papabegood on Oct 16, 2010 5:34 PM PDT up reply actions

Josh Morgan averages 10.7 yards per reception.

The only wide out that scares me is Crabs downfield as well as after the catch. VD is another story all his own.

That may be.........

He Either Catches a 20+ yard catch, or a 2 yard catch, thus your ave. !!!

Flowers shut Crabtree down

So Nnam shouldn’t have a problem. Nnam just need’s to stand in a single spot and that half of the field will be shutdown. lol

I don't see Mike as their true number 1

While he’s the best ball catcher, he’s not their best route runner, or the guy who’ll ever stretch the field with his straight-line speed. He’s got some explosiveness, and the ability to get some YAC with some shiftiness in the open field, and I love that he’s a true snatcher and attacks the ball in the air, but I don’t see Alex getting enough time for Mike to be a factor in this game, even if it’s CJ or Routt covering him. I think even the slowest of our safeties can keep up with Crabtree, but some of our D backs still show a propensity to let slower guys beat them with good cuts and explosion out of their breaks in routes.

I don’t think we’ll match Nnamdi on Mike all game; I don’t even think he’ll switch sides for this show. The bigger question will be on how effectively we can frustrate Smith with pressure and make him a non-factor. And the one of containing Gore all game…

If the point of Nam shaddowing the best receiver is happening

Then the hell with it, stick him on Vernon Davis lol

I love this idea! Essentially, Vernon plays much more like a big man receiver

than he does a fleet-footed big body TE. Nnam could shut him down.

Not so sure

I think Nnamdi may be a little small body wise and Vernon could out body him.

by TheLyleAlzadoPunch on Oct 16, 2010 3:56 PM PDT up reply actions

I agree with his body size, but I have yet to see Nnamdi make a bad tackle

When he wraps a guy up, they’re going down; no question about it. He regularly wraps up much bigger backs in the backfield, and demonstrates his technique and strength unparalleled for a guy his size with a violent slam to the ground.

Davis lost some weight in the offseason, and it has suited him, but as it is, he’s more the size of MegaTron than he is the rest of the league’s premiere TEs.

Funny you say that

I watched him (I can’t remember which game) where he threw his body at a runner and missed and hurt himself just a bit.

Well

the play I talk about is not against the Chargers. It was I think against Houston.

Actually

I am almost certain it was against the Rams and he whiffed on Stephen Jackson

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

by TheLyleAlzadoPunch on Oct 16, 2010 8:53 PM PDT up reply actions

Also

it’s more about the coverage than the tackle. If he can’t stop the pass against Vernon and just tackles him but can’t out body him for a pass Vernon will still get his catches.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

by TheLyleAlzadoPunch on Oct 16, 2010 4:26 PM PDT up reply actions

I would not want Nnamdi on VD.

Davis played power forward and knows how to use his body to post up. Nnamdi shouldn’t be on him. Also you only need watch last week’s highlights to see Gates juke him and have him miss a tackle. Nnamdi on Crabs all day like penicillin.

After last week,

I am thinking the best chance the Raiders have at manning up with Davis is with Mitchell.

+1

For sure

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

by TheLyleAlzadoPunch on Oct 16, 2010 5:59 PM PDT up reply actions

Disagree there completely

I want to see Mitchell do his timed lay-the-wood-n-separate-dude-from-ball from the safety position, but if anyone tries to man up with the TE, he’ll use his body to shield the ball all day long. Mitchell lacks man to man cover skills: hence, why we don’t see him making runs at either of our starting safety spots as a regular. We recognize his skill set, and use him accordingly to blitz the qb, and we should be using him to lay wood from Nickel or Dime/Zone situations for the safety. He could even play the cover 2 lb/safety in the Tampa 2 style D. But man up? That would be a disaster, as would Nnamdi all day. We’ll have to have guys double, force Alex to make errant throws, and give the guys assigned to cover in the flats and under help with a guy from the secondary.

I’m not sure the tackles you’re talking about Nnamdi missing were his to make, either, LAP. He may have missed on an attempt to clean up after tackles missed by lbs and then safeties, but he should’ve never found himself chasing down Gates alone unless Gates left the man we assigned to cover on the ground, in the dust, or elsewhere where there complete non-factors in defending. Another problem was that Rivers excels in using his tall receivers and big basketball-skilled TE by putting the ball in precise windows where only their guys can make plays on the balls, and somehow does it almost perfectly in stride every time. I take very little away from our defenders trying to cover Phillip when we only rushed four to pressure him; they couldn’t have played much better, save for the penalty flags, which moved SD’s chains on all but one big TD to Floyd. We didn’t get any real pressure on Rivers before the final quarter, and if you fail to do just that, he’ll make Nnamdi and Revis look like rookies with tall receivers and Gates out there.

The lbs will have to take care of the unders and the second level of the defense with Davis. If they do this, the d backs will be able to contribute their part against Davis. No d back should be trying to man up with Davis for most of the game. Even the guys able to keep up with him and cover him would be at a disadvantage going man to man. We’ll need people to double team Davis. Only Gore and Davis are worthy of double teams at all. Morgan and Crabtree lack the skill sets to earn respect for doubles. Man up on the wideouts, and gang tackle Gore and Davis all day. Let’s try to keep Davis tackled by the front seven, and out of the secondary.

The 49ers are game planning for pressure from our D. I would like to see Marshall

feel the game out a little, blitzing more in the way of, cerebral than, last week, which was a visceral, 15 straIght blitzes.

As far Nnamdi on Crab: no. And even if Nnamdi was covering Davis, there would have to be a DB or LB in line of sight at all times, for that matchup to be truly effective.

You're so right that Vernon Davis and Gore are the true weapons and Smith, if given time

Stack the box, bring the heat, and leave Davis to Mitchell and see how it goes. Adjustments can be made if needed. Now Fassell, let’s have the STs do what they did last week and give us that needed edge!

If not Crabtree then who would you rather have him shadow?

Vernon Davis needs to be doubled with a line backer underneath, a bump from a defensive end and then safeties over the top when they’re not blitzing Alex Smith into next week. Seriously, there is no one else Nnamdi should be challenging one on one on Planet Asomghua.

"49-Tears" Will Be Crying Again -n- "Sick-a-Tery" Will Have A MeltDown

Sad Fran-chise For-ty-ni-tears n The “Psycho” as “HC”….

Damn…This one is so funny…After all that Raider Bashin that takes place across the bay bridge it’s so funny to watch these punk-asses crap their diapers….

I have been down here in “SD” for the past 3 weeks and thoroughly enjoy all the crying taking place after their historical loss to us last Sunday….They jeered at me during the Houston game and said how they would dominate us the following week…Now pay-back is beautiful…So I’m really lookin forward to having that same delight when it comes to those “49-tears” losers….

Simple, effective. Nnamdi gets crabs. Who wants VD?

Like we have been saying though, the key will be getting pressure on Alice.

And with our Dick we shouldn’t have to worry about VD.

But my gut tells me otherwise. If Boller comes in at Halftime we should be able to pull it out

Raiders win by 3 pts in 4th Quarter come from behind. Hugh makes radical changes at halftime and Marshall’s nuts kick-in sometime during the 2nd Half.
