Yeah
it is nice to be scoring some points and today some TD’s. That turnover before the end of the first half was a killer. Still had a chance to get 6. But the D just looks awful again and the lack of drafted O-lineman (why was the O-line ignored for so long? We’re talking before Cable’s watch!) is killing us. Hopefully, the Veldheer and Campbell projects pan out.

Which the Raiders D is not creating.
This isn’t 1972, when we had Jack. He’s dead and gone. God Bless. He created nightmares for offenses, a lot more problems than Troy Polamalu or Ed Reed. Davis is looking for that safety who has smarts, strength and versatility. It doesn’t have to be this bad, the safeties are biting instead of staying home, or they can’t close gaps enough to stop the run. Which tells you why we suck at defending the run, our DB’s are leaving the work to the interior, than they pick up the scraps.
Jack was disappointed by the lack of progress and let it be known. He was different, as much as Davis tried to front, Jack was his own man and Davis needs to know these types of players you CAN’T just find. They are a rare breed.

Not Suprised About This Lost
Michael Huff should have been cut to make room for Stevie Brown. He was awful during the preseason and it has continued into the start of this season. Our defense will just have to be like the Saints from last year which was not good but made big plays on making turnovers. Bruce now knows how Jason felt playing behind an awful line. Bruce is good for coming off the bench only. His record as a starter is atrocious!!

There aren’t a lot of drops this season, thats a terrible excuse to make. Bruce is very erratic, if this excuse goes the same goes for JC. Thus making it not JC’s fault and he’s perfectly fine right?

yes! i didnt say it would make him a great player. but we would have won this game and last game….JC held on to the ball and just looked like a deer in headlights. We all know Bruce isn’t a permanent fix but he is the best we have. We have had alot of dropped passes this season actually. DHB drops like 5 a game

Drops are not our issues on offense, not by a long shot. And if DHB really did have that many drops theres a simple solution, dont throw it to him. Our issues are at the QB and Oline. Both are way to inconsistent

we have so many issues that i cant even count them all
but drops ARE an issue or els 2 of the INT’s bruce has on his stats wouldnt be there! And we would of had chances to win games. Not saying Bruce doesnt have flaws but its a two way street! DHB skills really needs work and Murphy probaly had a rough game with his collarbone and all. I think its a mixture of all things. Oline, WR, QB, and coaching imo
What gets me is the little mistakes that cost us games
Shit like missed tackles poor catching skills and horrible play calling…ALL CAN BE FIXED! how do you not try to tackle (Huff) how do you just drop so many passes (DHB) and the whole coaching staff should be replaced. There is a possibility that Al is behind most of this fuckery but lets be serious. As a fan this really discurages me from watching/supporting the team. The way the D played and half the O, i felt like they didnt care about playing so why should i care about the team? Over all there were bright spots! Bruce, Zach Miller, Nnamdi as always, and even Routt made me proud today. Seymour cant do it alone on the line, and Ro cant be the only decent LB!
if you blitz, you need to have a dependable safety to mitigate those 'mistakes', examples:

Bob Sanders- Colts
Darren Sharper- Saints
The Raiders suck at blitzing, there is no safety ‘help’. The D is going to be terrible, if they keep up the blitzing with a lack of a great safety.

Usually when your receiving corp drops passes and you have a WR that still has a ton of technical and catching issues you tend to blame the WR coach…
All WR's drop passes, it just happens every now and then

I dont think people understand that some of the kinks the the WRs have CAN BE FIXED! DHB does not have to jump every catch, he can improve on his route running, getting off the line, and catching with his HANDS! All of those things can be fixed but have not been. But he is what we have and will have to do cuz Al says so…

4 years. There’s been a decline in the quanitity and quality of their performance. They aren’t progressing like everyone though they would.

Our WR's
Our WR’s are just not cutting it. The WR we should have signed during the off season just got over 200 receiving yards today and is playing for the Bengals. When/if Chaz come back, if he gets hurt one more time it will be time to get rid of damaged goods. You can add Darren McFadden to that list too. The guy just can’t stay healthy. Next game Michael Bush and Kyle Boller should be starting. Michael Huff should be cut or placed on the bench for the rest of the season.

absolutely. I would look at Lal's previous working experience. He's greener than the WR
corp he coaches. I believe in equal hiring for any minority candidates, however, when a situation is as mercurial as this is, WR, I need someone who has a lot of experience and can deal with the stress.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind prying Cris Carter out of the ESPN studios, he’s an ego in himself, judging from his past transgressions, he would fit like a glove and would work these men until they blister on hands and feet.

I'm in favor of sitting Huff [or cutting him], no chance happens this year, Safety is a very volatile
position, we don’t have an abundance of quality depth, they can’t hack it. We have to either sink or swim with the talent we have. There’s very little in the way of Free Agents at the Safety positions, unless they really want to overpay someone.

I really like our speed. That's the 'light at the end of the tunnel' kind of realism you
can take with our core. The problem is drops, penalties [although we were disciplined in that respect, good sign or aberration?], they lack fundamental intelligence, every WR in some respect, lacks intellect. basic primal football instincts. at times. We need a system, we need execution. for their rise.
I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.
