Vicks: Who Powered Through: Oakland Raiders - Pittsburgh Steeler Injury Update

I am liking this Vicks campaign because it is relevant to what we do, as writers, and what we, as fans want to know about.

With the "Who's starting at QB" question in the rear view mirror, the biggest thing on all of our minds is which injured players will be back this week?

Well, the good news is that Tom Cable was encouraged by Nnamdi Asomugha, John Henderson and Zach Miller in yesterday's practice. They were all limited, but, they were out there. I believe that they KNOW something special is going on this season and, especially, Nnamdi and Miller do not want to miss this game for the WORLD!!!

On another note, the mysterious 1-2 punch at wide receiver, Chaz Shilens and "Wayward"-Bey, did not participate.

As for the Steelers:

S Will Allen (concussion) is still on the sidelines and so are, DE Nick Eason (illness), DT Steve McLendon (illness), S Troy Polamalu (Achilles), DE Aaron Smith (triceps).

Those who were limited include: CB Crezdon Butler (quadriceps), DE Brett Keisel (hamstring), G Chris Kemoeatu (ankle), LB Lawrence Timmons (hip).

Hines Ward participated at full strength. I guess he has mysterious concussion healing powers!

The Steelers have some pretty serious setbacks on the defensive side of the ball. Although I fully expect, Troy Polamalu to be in there on Sunday, starting safety Will Allen is still out with a concussion.

Actually, Heyward-Bey ..

Was on the practice field yesterday .. I know that he doesn’t make much of a difference as he has been more down than up again this season production wise, but he was out there practicing yesterday..

do u think Murphy can be a great one? I do!!! Every time he gets some action I like what I see

I live out here in Oregon I only make it to 1 or 2 games a year,But this year I think we have the core of a great team I mean really great! What im asking is do you think Murphy could be a real Raider? if he can get a long term deal done and be around for a while I think he could be a monster !! he plays mean all he needs is passes to him why on earth does every one talk about Chaz who! what has that guy done except be hurt all the time I hope that Big Tom Mr Coach Cable can help this guy grow into what he can be for us Im so happy that we are on the right track!!!Just Win Baby!!! aka Just Cut It Loose !!! I kinda like Just Punch Em In The Mouth !!!

dont get me wrong, i love him as a football player. hes the best we have. but from a team standpoint, hes always injured. we should pay the man, thank him, and ask him to leave =/

if

he gets healthy soon and does what he did when he was healthy, it would be a nice addition to the team in time for a playoff push. Like a late season trade or waiver wire pickup.

We're in the 11th Week.........

And Chaz is hurt(Still)!!! We luv to see him, but if he’s hurt, put him on the IR!!! We cut Watkins, who hadn’t showed a LOT, but I do remember him making, some DECENT catches !!! Chaz is on the roster, truefully wasting a spot !!! I mean, if he does come back, will it be at a 100%, 90, 80, ? Is this a coaching decision ??? Or something else !!!! IMO, we could’ve of used another wideout, who at the beginning of the season was out there!!! Now there are none worth bringing in !!! After all the good decisions made this year, this is somewhat questionable/baffling !!!

If he does recover and plays well for us, even in the 4th Quarter (of the season, vs. Jax, Den, Indi, KC) it may be the factor

to take us “in”

You're right about the waste of a roster spot

but the Raiders see Shillens as a Calvin Johnson type at a bargain basement price. With his flashes of potential when he isn’t hurt and the fact that he always seems just on the verge of recovery before yet another set back, they’ve kept him around. If he finally heals up and returns this year,( he is now practicing ) is productive and stays healthy, then you’ll see him again next year. If however, he is unable to return this year or he does return and gets hurt again, the Raiders are going to have to look else where for another wide receiver. Plaxico maybe?

Does Bruce Campbell have a shot at starting at all this season??

I am stoked to watch our rookie L T Jared Veldheer he is really a bad ass also this big ol monster Bruce Campbell he ran the 40 at 5.1 and benches 500 I know that isent blocking but I would think that him and Veldheer side by side rookies would be just plowing holes for both of our backs Im all for starting rookies,But im just I fan I dont call the shots,Does any one think that those two would want to be side by side for years to come i mean thats what its all about team work and the longer they play together the better they should be,I dont know why Bruce is not a starter but he sure has the goods to be great and I cant say enough about Jared Veldheer!! In collage he did not give up one sack!! not 1 thats awesome I am very excited about this team!!!! Just Win Baby!!!!

Does Tom Cable like two draft pairs of players?Well a couple of pairs n e way

I was looking at a pair of wide outs Louis Murphy and DHB,and this year Jared Veldheer and Bruce Campbell,also a pair of DBs Ware and McFadden,Also McClain and Goethel,All of these players are good and are a solid foundation for our Raiders,I would love to see Tom pick us another pair of linemen mean as hell all I can do is hope,Also we should get a Win today Fighting the Steelers Just Win Baby!!!
