Do the Raiders get into their opponents heads?
It has come to my attention that teams that play the Raiders don't fare so well the following week. Look at division rival Kansas City, they went to overtime against the Raiders, but the following week, they got trounced by lowly Denver. Is this an aberration? Let's take a closer look at the Raiders opponents, and how the fare the following week, after the jump.
Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
Week 6
Week 7
Week 8
Week 9
Week 10
Byes: Packers, Saints, Raiders, Chargers
Week 11
So, after teams play the Raiders, they are 1-8 the following week. I'm taking Buffalo to beat the Steelers this week!
Is this just weird, or do you all have an explanation for this?

The Raiders are very good at injuring opposing players. I noticed this last year when 5-6 Charger players left the game, 2 with season ending injuries. It’s the non-stop, tough and in your face way they play. It’s unrivaled by any team.
Hippy/Raider fanatic.
I think the Giants have knocked out 6 or 7 opposing QBs
But yeah, the Raiders have a physical style of play, for sure.
Check!! That's what is meant by Raider Style football and that's the essence of our Bad Guy reputation which is enhanced
by myth, uniforms, Al Davis, fan attire, the Black Hole and this blog.

You see it every week, opponents are regularly leaving the game and teams are being weakened (even when we lose)
You did the analysis, laid it out with hard facts – Good job!

rec'd post but think the title could be better. We deplete rosters, transfering players to the Doubtful and Questionable lists

The two may be showing the formula to beat a team.
Whether or not Oakland uses said formula to beat said team is another story however I am sure teams see what they can exploit from those games and a team’s tendencies because they do get in their opposition’s heads. Look at the other team’s penalties and yards in the games against us. They are probably the highest they were all season. Also our D-line does usually beat up the opposisition’s O-line and at least 1 leaves with an injury regularly in the games I’ve watched. It’s tough to execute the following week with a 2nd or 3rd string tackle or center.
It's never just a game when you're winning.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're going and hook up with them later.

I was noticing that too
about the opposition teams penalties during games with us. It seems it is flag after flag for and against us. I wonder how the golden boys from Miami will manage with that this Sunday.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

That is a good point !
I think just because the Raiders are playing in the game, the referees are now more likely to make calls they might not normally make (on either team) rather than just keeping their flag in pocket.
It still seems to be better than the old days of only penalizing the Raiders on the iffy calls.
JUST DOMINATE BABY !!!
Damn. this totally should've happened
Maybe Stevie Johnson was right about God making him drop that ball!
