Censorship on SBP?!

I am very, VERY concerned about the recent censorship trend on SBP.  One of the unique strengths of this blog is its democratic character - people post shit and eat shit for it, reprimanded by fellow bloggers.  But the shit has always been out in the open, for anyone to see and evaluate.  Deleting posts because you think they may be offensive offends everyone else - what if we want to see for ourselves what the offense was, and respond to it?

Censorship is a marker for mistrust in our powers of analysis.  It's bad for our community and the genuine, albeit raunchy at times, camaraderie on this blog.  I honestly think that if the trend continues, the blog will lose a lot of contributors.  Let the blog continue to function as a genuine Socratic forum - do not tamper with its dynamics!

Honestly

Nothing at all, but it is a sense of professionalism that needs to be present for the blog to be successful.

No shit. We are not "professionals" (payed for our comments") but fans, lovers of the team, its history and the game

This blog has evolved out of one man’s reflections and passion, that is the root, and the fruit of this blog now reflects the same spirit – reflection and passion – shared by a greater number but greatly determined by the founder’s original concept.

hmmmm interesting if its the posts im thinking of thats fucked cos we beat that mofo down Raider style!

Spam posts in the fanpost section are a little different as it pushes genuine posts that people have worked hard on off the front page.
Im racking my brain to work out which posts were deleted looks like some comments were deleted off the the Potatoguy post (whats going on with that by the way Patguy? you owe us one after that hmmmmmmmmm) and there was the douches 3 posts in a row that i cant find so i guessing thats what you are talking about.

I agree if someone wants to talk shit they should just get a Raider Nation beat down, we are pretty good at that and they generally don’t come back – COS WE THE NATION AND THEY DON’T WANT NO PROBLEMS!!!!

My name is noontide and I approve this message.

Deleting spam isn’t about censorship, because they aren’t exercising their right to free speech. They are exercising their right to free sleaze.

The only other thing I could think of for censorship that I would be in favor of is if the poster requests something. Just as an example, say they post about McFadden and want to keep the thread about that topic, so they request that people don’t start talking about Grad vs Campbell.

Essentially I feel the blog as a whole should be free, but an individual poster could choose to be a dictator.

Does this look as bad as it looks?

Trash talk is perfectly fine. Trolling is completely different and is something I don’t think we should accept. We’re a better site than that. In the future I will refrain from hasty actions, but this site is better than to basically invite a troll in by giving him the reaction he desires. I was just hoping to get this site to be like a Pounding the Rock. You won’t find a single troll or profanity laden post anywhere (unless it’s a game thread where that’s allowable).

Once again, I apologize for the hasty action on said troll.

I understand the need for troll control

but those morons are usually well handled by the people on this site. How much good content is lost on Pounding the Rock because it is censored. I cannot picture a Raiders conversation without an occasional shit or fuck. We’re passionate fans and we express ourselves in sometimes crude ways, ( I myself am a big offender of the profanity rule ) but it would be a shame to have a “clean site” at the cost of an open site.

I’m not saying profanity is not allowed. But posts where it’s like every other 5th. word makes the site look bad. All I want is for the site to look inviting and professional. Raider fans get a bad rep for being “drunken convicts with barely any sense of English”. I’d like this site to be the shining source of how wrong that statement is.

That's not going to happen if you predetermine the type of comments to be posted here.

Plus, why worry so much about how others perceive us?? Frankly, I don’t give a damn about what the Chiefs or the Broncos say about our fans – they are clearly stereotyping, so it’s their own problem.

So do you have a problem

if some Raider fans are “drunken convicts with barely any sense of English” and if you’d “like this site to be the shining source of how wrong that statement is” it doesn’t do any good to remove the posts. I think the good heavily out-weighs the bad is a much better approach if that is your goal. Just my H. opinion, though. Although if you don’t want the unintelligent convict Raider fans to post, I’m sure it wouldn’t be the first place they were banned from. Up to you.

My POV

Although I am relatively new here, I have been an admin of a large music forum for many years, I know the hardships of trying to keep the peace between those who are offended and those who are accused of offending. As well as trying to maintain a censor free system, and yet keeping it free from time stealing spammers. It is very annoying, and Very difficult. And it is a thankless job for the most part. I myself am guilty of not reading the rules as it were, and breaking one. And took my berating, as well I should have. And now I know better, now some sites would just move it to the new area, I like that that didn’t happen here, that it stayed as a reminder to those who would screw up. A Head on a stake, THAT is RAIDERNATION. And that is what I expect from here. BUT, lets understand that it’s a hard row to ho to be an admin.

I have no idea what the issue was or what was said that warranted a deletion.

However I’ve read some of the sleasiest crap here that no one has ever acknowledged. I don’t think deleting a post that is a waste of bandwidth anyway is censorship but I also don’t want to sink to the level of other posts like Arrowhead Pride who delete posts just because they don’t like to hear people speak the truth about them and their tired fanbase.

“Sorry, but I don’t think the Chiefs have top team talent. Teams like the Pats, Steelers, Jets, Ravens, Green Bay, Eagles, and Saints are just at another level and you guys need to improve on your weak talent.” (Because some were talking SB.)
Main fucking reason we need the Chargers to make the playoffs and not the stupid Chiefs with their inbred fans who get offended easily. We need to knock off the Chiefs. It would be a successful season to trump their hopes and see their tears when I visit their blog. Charger fans are more like fairweather fans, imo, most of that fanbase, some few are hardcore thogh.

I think SBP managed well for the most part.

I think SPAM posts are fairly obvious, they are annoying and don’t add to anyone’s enjoyment of the site.

I don’t mind trolls for the most part either, they typically come with the same unoriginal posts (almost to the point where I think they cut and paste them from somewhere) about the Raiders, Al Davis, fans blah blah blah. The point at which it should be stopped is when they start to resort to racist and personal attacks (i.e. “classy” cheifs fans), because it drags the discussion down the toilet. I don’t think I’ve seen an overuse of bannings, but I would understand if a mod was to get offended and ban the trolls for that.

The point at which it would be overuse would be when we are not allowed to be fans of our own team, which I have seen from (and been banned from) other sites. I don’t see that happening here, and I hope it never gets to that point on SB&P, because it is a Raider site run by Raider fans.

We don't take kindly to folks that don't take kindly around here.

What I Like To Add To All This Is

We need stories guys. We needs different perspectives, ideas, and etc. There is not much going on here like there used to be. I know everyone is busy, but this is our second life, the Raiders. (I proudly admit this) I would like to see more thoughout stuff on this blog and more comment per story.

I would post more if i could but I’m stretched thin right now. Between the school paper, my girlfriend, my friends, family, the holidays, and the upcoming semester exams, I can’t get much time in. After semester exams though, I hope to be a more frequent story poster. I love seeing what everyone thinks of my work.

I love the fact that my fan diary has become this Raider Blog:

We need to all keep in ind what this is. This is my vision for how this should work. It isn’t a police state. In fact, we have had one banning in our existence and it was deserved. I have only deleted one post that wasn’t obvious spam and that was because it presented a risk to our ability to function in the future.

I am now sure what post was deleted or who did so, but I will look into it.

Perhaps now is the time for some basic rules, although I strongly hold onto the premise that this site and all of the original sites were founded under and that is to provide a place where Raider fans can be Raider fans.

You've done a hell of a job.

When I first stumbled upon this blog I had already been to several other Raiders and sports blogs. I stayed here, because it was far and away the best. I think your stated premise was true then and it is true now.

Does this look as bad as it looks?

Nobody really cares

if you have a spelling problem. After all most of do too. Just drop a post and we will get the drift. I have an idea for you if you want. Write in on Word and use the grammar and spell check before posting it then you can use the copy and paste option. In the end we all know what you will mean when you write it.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

lol! the grammar and spell police are comical!

when you bring it with the in depth understanding and unbiased insight about our teams, our division, and the league and the players and coaches like you do, the ones who bash you on spelling only demonstrate who’s really ignorant!

you’re football IQ and overall intelligence are a welcome presence here, J, and you should always know that. I couldn’t believe when you told me the d’bags at the baseball blog banned you for it. What a joke. I think it’s pretty clear too that you know how to spell what you’re writing just fine, just sometimes more concerned with just getting your thoughts out than having them be spelled right. I’ve seen through it from the get go, and anyone with a keen eye for content will too.

Timing is critical, j-man. If you could post the Raider piece after your Donkeys take down StD then it would be better received at MHR

Alternatively, if you wait until we trounce the Chiefs again in their own wigwam that would even be better (but they may turn on you at AP when you rub our greatness into their fresh wound). One theme that is always good to read is how the Raiders have been successful in every decade (granted the last decade we didn’t do much after the 1st couple of years) and also our great HOF players is wonderful reading. Or you could make a case for the Raiders being the most improved team of the new decade having had the best draft in the league and turning things around (mentioning our need for only a few key upgrades and a new gutsy DC to take us all the way. [If you elect the latter, may I suggest a RG, ROT, C, OLB and WR as being the most essential positional upgrades (unless we switch to a 3-4, in which case we’ll also need a NT).
Of course, you’re free to dismiss these suggestions and come up with your own theme … it’s really all in your capable hands.

and so begins the role of spoiling...

it’s a cloak we don with pride this time of year, and relish the opportunities at hand. I don’t find joining necessary. The Del Rio crap, is so much hyperbole, and has no place in the topic of who will win in Oakland come Sunday.

I’m interested to see how the Raiders handle the Colts defensive speed, and how the smallish lineman handle our massive bodies up front. These lineman are finally starting to do what O lineman do, much to the surprise of the nation, and it seems we have an interesting rotation of capable guys, too.

I’m wondering if Jacksonville’s physical style will prove it was too much for an already depleted Colts team facing another extremely physical team in our Raiders this week. Looking forward to some gritty, physical, smash mouth football next week.

Maybe I can give my position as well.

There is a difference between what I believe in, and what is right.

What I believe in, has no say unto how others believe. I believe that each member should be friendly to every other blogger, from every other site. I’m not a big fan of profanity, but I honestly don’t really care, unless that person is being obnoxious. I believe in people actually TALKING to one another and debate, instead of getting into heated fights where they insult one another. I believe in treating other fans with THE most respect, and get to know them and their team as well.

But what is right imo, does not exactly coincide with what I believe in. Many others have their own beliefs, and I personally have no right to tell them what they should believe in.

I understand what you want KA1Z3R. Hell, what you want is basically how the pats site is, but the only difference is, is that no one is TELLING how they should blog, only suggesting. If one had a problem, they talk with the person about it, and maybe others help out as well. This is called, imo, community interference, which is a good thing. It displays a certain synergy to the site.

Profanity is just a way that some people choose to express themselves, whether I disagree with it or not, I understand why they use it. Now, calling someone an f-ing b**ch, in uncalled for, and we would know the purpose behind it: Insulting. that’s it. Nothing of value. And that’s where the community synergy comes in.

Of course, if a person is doing something that you believe is not right, then either say something or deal with it. KA1Z3R, you are a mod, and mods should act in the generalization of the community, not yourself. Therefore, YOUR beliefs cannot be held higher than others.

This is a site for fans. All different types, and that’s what makes this blog very interesting imo. This site isn’t ALL about talking trash, and we know it. Hell, even the KC fans know it too, as well as everyone else. It’s all just a stereo-type that raider fans are criminals and such, just like it’s a stereo-type that all pats fans are obnoxious and boastful(at least I think that is a stereo-type held amongst a few).

We have many intelligent fans here, and I’m gad to be a part of the Silver and Black community.

I’ll take 11 players with heart on the field over 11 guys with just talent. Talent is fleeting, it goes away over time. Heart is what drives you to be better. To push yourself beyond what you think your capabilities are. To show us that when you strive, all things are possible.- SMP

well said, P. The mods walk a thin line of judgment, and doing a disservice to fans

a statement posited and omitted—especially one arguably not rightfully removed—undermines the integrity of the community, and offers a bastardized version of what the community truly represents. I’m of course speaking hypothetically here, as I was unable to read stricken statements.

Something is lost when the community is deprived of any of its pieces that make up the whole, and that, almost unprecedented here since I’ve been around, I find very sad.

I think what a lot of people forget is that ...

Free websites like this one are commercial ventures. This means that someone, somewhere, is trying to make money off of this site, via the advertisement.

I personally find it pretty odd that posters feel like they have some type of ‘ownership’ over a site like this … like their ‘say’ should have some kind of ‘weight’. IMHO folks would do well to remember that this site is FREE, and it’s not a democracy. It’s a money-making venture for someone for someone who’s laid out their cash, and the someone is almost certainly not you.

This means that the actual people funding sites like this have the final say over what ‘the rules’ are about the posts contained herein. The Mods are ostensibly ‘in charge’ of implementing the capitalists vision of what should and should not be allowed in terms of content, with the end goal being to maximize the revenue of the site.

Posting on a place like this is a privilege, not a 1st amendment right, and there’s nothing wrong with posts being removed that do not follow the rules set up by the owners of the site.

If you want to have a completely censorship-free site, you should put your own money out there and start one.

All true, but with out all of us, no one is going

to pay for adds on a site were no one is blogging and therefore no customers to be had and no money to be made. It’s a checks and balance thing. They need us and we need them. So the opinion of the consumer (us) does have validity. This blog is great because of the people on it and the people who run it.
Saint and staff have done an awesome job walking the fine line between open blog and oppressive blog, (especially with us being Raider fans and all) and should be commended for it

Nice Rambis64. My sentiments exactly

and as I said before, the mods ride this thin line:

Saint and staff have done an awesome job walking the fine line between open blog and oppressive blog, (especially with us being Raider fans and all) and should be commended for it
Here’s to hoping it stays that way.

and I believe the majority of contributors here would agree that the openness and lack of oppression is what separates us from others; but that separation is fragile.

Also ... all true :)

I don’t mean to imply that ‘our’ collective opinion has no validity, only that the rightful deciders of what is or is not appropriate content does rest with the people who are putting their money out there.

It’s not that hard to envision a scenario where someone from, say, the corporate office at Absolut (obviously an important advertiser) could visit this site and see their ad plastered all over some profanity-laced thread, and decide to pull the plug on their sponsorship. For all we know, something like that happening could be the end of the site we all love.

I’m just saying it’s important to remember … it’s not just us talking back and forth amongst ourselves here. Ultimately, as with everything in the capitalist world, decisions come down to some what some bean-counter somewhere thinks.

The owners do need us contributors to provide ‘marketable’ content, but they are not logically going to be down with content that might jeopardize their revenue streams, and/or seems likely (to them) to drive visitors away.

I participate in tons of web forums focused on all sorts of topics, from politics to computer hardware to music, and I’m here to tell ya … the whole ‘let us contributors take care of beating down the trolls and chasing them off’ … it’s just not how ANY moderated commercial forum like this one operates. It’s considered very unprofessional, and advertisers don’t want to pay to have their names associated with unprofessional sites.

And I'm just sayin ...

It’s the owners job to determine what their clients want or do not want, not yours or mine. OTOH, it’s ours to decide whether we wish to participate in the forum within the confines of the owner’s ‘rules’ … or not :)

That’s all I’m saying. Don’t get me wrong, I much prefer a wild and woolly atmosphere, and I’ve said TONS of stuff already on this site that absolutely wouldn’t fly on any other board I’ve been on. I REALLY like that about this place.

But at the same time, I recognize that it’s not my ‘right’ to say whatever I want to, and I wouldn’t bat an eye over being ‘censored’ if it were to happen.

by Brett J Valjalo on Dec 21, 2010 1:52 PM PST up reply actions

while I totally agree with your sentiments

I think the important thing to also recognise is that while the owner of a blog has the right to set rules it is the contributors of the blog which create the value of in which ad revenue is made.

I think to a certain extent censoring and deleting posts is disrespectful to these people but once again context is key, I do not believe this has occurred here but it is a fine line.

In my mind this blog is for everyone who is into (or against) Raider Nation,no matter what their opinions are. Yes, it is the best Raider Blog and (though I'm biased) the best NFL blog too. So, Spirals and most of us would like to keep it that way

I’ve noticed only 3 censorship interventions in the past year. The most recent was Al’s Wingman’s comment being stricken for gross insensitivity on an obituary-type post for Pat Paterson. The same individual had a comment stricken earlier this year for personal and defamatory attacking a beloved member of the Nation & SBP. Last January, I was chastised – for inappropriately lambasting a particularly obnoxious commenter – by having my post removed from the front page (where publication reaches Barbarians) and placed in Fan Posts. Your idea of voting, though democratic, leaves too much to the whim of whoever is present on a given day (some do not visit the blog each day). Al in all, I like the way things are going and hope they continue as such. Trolls can either be ignored or handled on the spot by this blogs very capable pool of contributors.

As a Chiefs fan

I thought this team would be lucky to go 8-8 this year, so anything other than that is icing on the cake. I never thought we would be a play-off team, and i don’t think we will go past the first week in the play-offs if we make it. I do believe we can beat the Titans, but IMO the whole season come down to our last game against the Raiders, can we win, i don’t know.

I think the game comes down to how your QB plays and if we can give our QB time to pass. If you look at the games the Chiefs have lost this year, it’s against teams that play the 4-3 on defense. The Raiders have a very good defense and a very big front 4.

ha ha, J-Man. I can be an asshole at times, myself

especially in weeks such as these, ESPECIALLY after reading our very own prognosticating dismal outcomes against the Raiders!

I normally cool my jets, and make amends for my behavior, but it’s in my nature occasionally to act first, without thinking of consequences. I kinda like it that way. I’ve actually punched much bigger bully types right in the mouth before, and the look on their faces of disbelief is precious. I’ve been fortunate to come out on top of most of those situations, but it wouldn’t have happened had I hesitated to think… Most of those bully types were accustomed to no one fighting back, and it turns out, they couldn’t fight very well, anyways. I don’t really endorse violence under most circumstances, but at times, it’s the right thing to do! lol

Merry Christmas, J-Man! Thanks for being a great contributor, and honest evaluator of our Raiders, a Raider deep down inside, and a true friend!

It's going to be a good game.

Because going to the play-offs will be on the line for both teams IMO. If the Raiders had a better QB at this point they would be very hard to beat. Do you think the Raiders have their QB for the future or do you think they draft one this coming draft?

truce

a little hot over the Colts game. I didn’t like the prediction our on fire prognosticator came up with. AT ALL.

Well...........

if I truly knew that answer I would also have the powerball numbers. I will say I think the next 2 games will say a lot in regards to JC and his future with the Silver and Black. I am certain however Grad is finished as a player (it is unfortunate because he is one determined guy and a great leader that gets every ounce out of the talent he has which is not the greatest) the shoulder issue is IMHO a write off and I don’t think he can make a come back nor do I think any NFL team will give him a shot as his contract is up this year.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

by TheLyleAlzadoPunch on Dec 24, 2010 4:29 PM PST up reply actions

One more thing to add

it also depends on who is on the market and available in the draft when it comes to our pick and we have no 1st rounder.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

by TheLyleAlzadoPunch on Dec 24, 2010 4:42 PM PST up reply actions

Ouch

I didn’t know that and it’s to bad that Grad got hurt, he seem to fire up the team when he was in the game.

by CPT.Caveman on Dec 24, 2010 4:43 PM PST up reply actions

Yes

I truly love him on the field as a QB he commands respect but he is a little limited on talent. I just think the 2 injuries to the shoulder plus all of the other injuries make him one humpty dumpty that needs a whole new shell.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

by TheLyleAlzadoPunch on Dec 24, 2010 4:45 PM PST up reply actions

Would you be open to K.Orton as a QB, he will most likely be available.

The bad thing is any QB that becomes available won’t be that much of a upgrade over what you guys have now. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a chance at Luck in the draft.

I will take Vick!

He will be there I might even give McNuggets a shot if Shitinurhand cuts him from the Foreskins this off season. No thanks to Orton we don’t need a INT machine we had that for 3 years already.

The dog thing doesn't really bug me, although if you're going to kill a animal a gun shot to the head is best.

Not drowning or electrical shock, that’s alittle screwed up. I just didn’t think he was a complete QB back then when he played for the Falcons, but he has become more accurate on his throws now. I just think he can be shut down by the right game planning.

Apparently

he now for the first time in his career actually watches opposing team game films and studies their defense. I think he has matured as a QB and still has wheels to run if needed and cuts and slashed like no other except Randal Cunningham now he was a freak when let loose.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

question:

do you believe the Chiefs can make a real push in the playoffs?

The consensus belief here, while we hold out the smallest of hope to actually still be in the conversation after this week, is that we’re just not good enough to do anything even if the chance is given to us.

The interesting part is, the powerhouses of the league, at least record wise in NE, Pitt, ATL, can be beaten on any given day, and have some glaring weaknessed. We’d love nothing more than a chance at another snow bowl game, and could even rise to such an occasion, but to be honest, it’s a pipe dream for us. What do your fans at AP think about your playoff chances, should they get there?

I don't think the Chiefs are as good as the 9-5 record shows.

We had a very easy schedule this year, and when we have faced good defensive teams, like your Raiders we get beat. While i don’t think we go past the first round if we do make the play-offs anything is possible. Hell 2 weeks from now we could be discussing how the Raiders will do in the play-offs and K.C and the Chargers could be a after thought.

Ha ha! You're too kind

I’ve had my questions about Cassel, but you can’t question his td to int ratio. The opponents haven’t been stellar, but this year, no game has come easy, which is why it’s been so great to watch. We have no idea what will happen. We do know, our division is no longer a laughing stock of the league.

Then you have all the Bronco fans who think Tebow is superman, lol. I sure wouldn’t want a so called Franchise QB that is better at running the ball than throwing it, he won’t last if they keep having him run it.

Disclaimer: Comments above are not meant to be taken with a grain of salt.

by CPT.Caveman on Dec 24, 2010 4:53 PM PST up reply actions

He can run in the NCAA

but in the NFL he does not have near the quickness. Last week we took the first half off with him and if you watched we shut that down in the second half. There is no way he is 245lbs. I am 230 and he looks like a middleweight out there. He is going to get smashed but good with those lame ass runs. I am so tired of the announcers talking about him like his Jesus Christ 2.0. They are so shot next year.

Agreed

I hate the guy just because of all the media attention he gets. They could have still had Cutler and the 3 picks they gave for Tebow could have help their team greatly. Not to mention Hillis and Alponso, lol.

I thought to myself during that game, why run QB draws on 3rd down, if your so sure of the guy being a good QB.

If they are still trying to see what he can do, then why not see if he can cut it on 3rd downs by throwing it.

I think

they just wanted to try and win and show that he could improvise and win in any way possible. We were also running right over their O line last week. It was crazy I saw more Silver and Black in the backfield than orange especially at the end of the game.

Because they know, that's all you'll get outta him right now

I believe it’s all you’ll ever get period. A good college game. One read, and tuck it away and go, They were smart for dumbing down their game for him, because they’d only expose his demise prematurely by expecting him to try and look like he can execute an NFL game proficiently. We tend to make guys look like Joe Montana on occasion, like that questionable grab that Stanford should’ve knocked down/ picked/ slapped, blown, or even pass interefered instead of just letting it fall into his hands.

I have good eyes and the font on the comments is too hard to read. I rarely go back to read what I wrote or what other zipperheads have to say in retaliation. We’d enjoy a beer in person just the same or beat each other bloody, whatever works. It does not matter to me if my comments are deleted or if people are offended or however the board is run. It’s not my board so people can do what they want.

I read posts here selectively

and sometimes I respond, sometimes I don’t. You are a classic dumbass and I would hurt you very badly for my own entertainment. You throw insults but you are just a boy (far from manhood) who plays video games and thinks watching MMA qualifies as your own toughness. You are a loser who will never get laid unless you pay for it (with a man or woman).

Oh you hurt me so bad please stop.

You hide your insults in other posts and that just shows how gutless you are. You have no idea of anything. I can already tell you have physical capabilities simply by the fact that you threaten over the internet with words of causing physical harm. Anytime anywhere basement SA boy. Next season I will be in Oakland for a game. If you would like to step into the ring feel free to step up I doubt you will as I said you could never back it up and never will. Bring a gun if you want.

One more thing

that proves you are lying about reading posts. I suspected you were one of those greasy slimy little internet turds and with what you wrote you prove it. You bring up MMA in regards to me. How would you know anything about me unless you are obsessed and do read things I and others write or you really are sicker than I thought and go into other people’s profiles to read about them.
You truly are exactly what I imagined and you twist, exaggerate and lash out with lame insults with zero originality and write things simply to get attention that you need.

He does occasionally write insipid things to get attention

His other posts and comments though are thoughtful. Granted, the obituary comment was over the top; however people joke at memorial services and say outrageous things to alleviate the grief. Hey, I myself did it at my mom’s memorial service earlier this month – I kinda resented the conventional moroseness that had befallen friends and family. There is also an ancient Greek tomb inscription that reads something like Al’s Wingman’s comment: “After much eating, drinking and whoring, here he is, dead – [guy’s name].”

A good back n forth argument however rude is still that, back n forth

between two people. My problem is when the whole community gets involved in 2 peoples’ beef and it becomes highschool drama.
The other problem are ‘bomb throwers’…who log a rude comment, or say something so slimacious it warrants an explanation, yet they run away and dont take responsibility for what comes out of their mouths.
Have a Merry Xmas, Spirals….may Santa bring us a Raiders V over the Colts…

Oh he has insightful remarks...........

occasionally. However his personal envy of others on the site and resulting outrageously incorrect low brow insults negate all of that. His ludicrous post about fans not from the bay area not being true fans (or to that extent were what his post elaborated to), his constant jealousy bred attacks on SOB at times including calling SOB a racist make him the lowest form of posting contributor> I know I make attacks and probably say things that most would just want me banned for but this I know.
