Deion Sanders. Pimp suit punk.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/09000d5d8160c65a/Nnamdi-Asomugha-on-the-set
I can't believe this guy works for the league network. Even as a guest host or whatever he is, he manages to make himself the topic at hand. That comment about "Acting like he wanted to be in Oakland" just put Deion on the list of people on I wish would catch fire just so I can attempt to extinguish their burning screams with a 2X4. Glaring differences between Nnamdi and Deion.
1. QBs kept throwing at Sanders
2. Nnamdi can tackle
3. Nnamdi is humble enough to not put out a garbage rap song about being a second class athlete to Bo Jackson.
4. I heard that Nnamdi doesn't have girl parts.
5. Nnamdi doesn't wear Sunday church pimp suits.
Look for more of my "I hate your ugly, non-silver-and-black face" posts in the future. #### your teams. RRRAIDERS!

1 or 2 tough questions big whoop
It was nothing to bad and he handled it well. I dont see the issue

Nellie: "You're a rookie"

There did seem to be some early jealousy exhibited from a usually exuberant Deion, but it dissipated into a good natured interview. What struck me as strange, the Raider slight aside, was how adamant Asomugha was when talking about the Raider talent and unrealized potential – the lack of discipline, penalties and execution that held it back. Yet he endorsed Cable as someone who should continue as HC. I’m now wondering, in light of the NYJ overture for him and his apparent receptivity to that proposition, what the hell is going through Nnamdi’s mind. He talks like someone who is committed to the Raiders but the next day is talking to Jet’s HC Ryan.
"My moma a dada done told me, not to bring you to the south I brough you to the city ...
… and the bright lights knocked you out." (Animals tune). Well, I believe, Nnamdi received a lot of attention and praise and began having some doubts about his present situation. I believe he was seduced. I hope he comes to his senses in the next few days/weeks and gets past this episode.

As I posted in another Thread but id be interested in your opinion
do you think it is possible that Nam let this out in the media to expose Ryans wrong doings. from what i have seen Nam seems to smart and articulate to not know what he was saying and the ramifications.
"Mel Kiper has his opinion and I respect it. But what does it mean? My 9-year-old nephew can watch film and make an opinion. I think I value the opinion of scouts who get paid to make their opinions. It will carry me through my career. It will serve as motivation for me." - Mike Mitchell

Hey SOB
It’s all about money. We all know that there’s a shortage of loyalty in sports. Even in our own fan base. That stuff was all said in jest. No way we trade the best all round combination of individual talent/off the field greatness in the game. I’m glad he endorsed Cable. But I’d really like to see him call out Russell. I usually don’t go for players doing that in the media, but Russell is so stupid he’ll keep believing “It isn’t me” if someone doesn’t call him out for the ginormous finacial/team building burden that he is.

I thought he kinda did
Asomugha received some pointed questions about JaMarcus Russell and expressed hope the quarterback would be more prepared this season, while essentially conceding Russell will remain the starter:
"I think he can be the guy. I don’t think he was ready for what we went through last year, I think he needed to be a little more prepared, going into each game, going into the season, and I think he has that opportunity this offseason.
"It’s got to be big for him. He knows that too. He has to understand that we’re going to go as far as he takes us. He’s the quarterback of the team."
And Sons:
Re-reading his quote about Cable makes me think it’s not for Cable as much as it is just for continuity:
Asomugha said he "absolutely" wanted Cable to return because "we can’t keep starting over. Five coaches in seven years, that’s tough."
Source: ContraCostaTimes
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
He defended Cable in December and last month. But these recent comments
do indicate a more general desire for stability and continuity rather than endorsement of Cable.

During the season
I don’t think he’s the type to come out against the coach.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Or it could be all about Winning ... Nam's has plenty of money and talked about
watching his friends go on to playoff games each year .. he looked and sounded wistful.

Which is understandable.
But if Al pulls a miracle and has a good draft and Cable doesn’t do anything stupid (like have any input on the team) then maybe just maybe we could be close. Right now the 2 things that worry me the most is Russell starting and what we’ll do in the draft.
Again if we sign Gradkowski I may fear Russell starting less.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Whatever Al's intentions truly are, he will probably continue presenting himself
as someone who believes in Russell, if for no other reason than to make teams unsure and therefore find a sucker out there to unload the albatross.
by Sons-of-Blanda on Feb 2, 2010 7:37 AM PST up reply actions
perhaps
but quite frankly I think the 2 options we have for Russell are
1) keep him and play him and lose
2) cut him
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
I agree with play him/lose or cut him
The “Face” of our franchise is fat and lazy. He’s convinced that the cannon arm he had in college is enough to float him through the pros and snag a paycheck. That is terrible for team/fan moral and embarassing for anybody loyal to either to attempt to defend. It’s not like he just had a few starts and works his tail off to improve. His retention is no more than Mr. Davis not wanting to admit that he was wrong.

Kiffin not being right?
I’ll buy that. I hate the guy, too. But I’ll buy that.
by golfswithglock on Feb 2, 2010 5:29 PM PST up reply actions
I actually like Kiffin
and it disappointed me that he would bounce from the Vols so quick and leave all the kids hanging there. But I think he’s got a good offensive mind and if he would have kept his mouth shut and learned to work w/ Al he’d have done good here.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
At this point, I don't think Al's primary intention (with respect to Russel)
has anything to do with Kiffin. He wants to determine once and for all whether Russell can become what he (Davis) envisioned when he took him in. …. (I regret it was Al who was and remains the party taken in.

As the Patriotguy would put it
“Al, if you feel that you’re being persistent and/or don’t want to release your ego, just tell yourself—Russell sucks at this moment.”

Damn i just posted on another post about deion before i saw this
Deion sanders is a douchebag and his first comment about Nam acting like he wants to be in Oakland was disgusting and I think Nam’s reaction showed that he wasn’t happy with it.

I wish he was in the black hole when he said that
Tommy Kelly's ass won us that game against Denver!
and that parting dig about Revis being the best "in your face, Aso" - it's clearly tough for
Sanders to watch himself being eclipsed by younger braver men.
by Sons-of-Blanda on Feb 3, 2010 5:29 AM PST up reply actions
Who cares what Deion has to say?
seriously, what difference does it make? Though your ridicule of him is amusing. He is a punk and on first read I thought it read he has girl pants . haha.
As for Nnamdi, it’s like he said just having fun at the pro bowl jawing and yacking it up. Why not. Wouldn’t you with 40 mil or whatever he’s making? What is Al going to do, trade him? He’ll just play it off diplomatically and procede to be an all pro for some other team.
Aso makes $15.1 M / year cf. franchise tag for DEs up to $12.4 M .
.. that’s not so bad a deal.
Thanks, Spirals.

Someone edited my Demographics post. they changed the title and fucked up the data
This is my last day on this blog
calm down and investigate
It’s very upsetting, actually, considering possibilities of identity theft, etc.
by Spirals galore on Feb 5, 2010 7:59 AM PST up reply actions
Well no.
They do it also to some of my posts when I post a lot of an article and also add my own takes. They just blockquoye the whole thing. It’s annoying. I think Sons should look at the comments in that post and compare the editors on this site to some of the more avid debaters with him and send him/her an email asking if it was done and why.
To leave the blog over this, though, Sons, I would have thought you were above such pettiness.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
I think this is a problem that needs to be addressed though
Otherwise the site starts looking Herrera-esque…

Well--an explanation is due
I think the editors should address this.

I concur
Especially if it’d been done because the person disagrees (I suspect that’s the issue) with the post.

I'm not an administrator
how do I know? I would guess since his original post about Demographics is fixed now and his post about leaving wasn’t really doing much but airing a dispute that really should have been in a private e-mail to the editor to begin with. But again I’m not an administrator.
