JaMarcus Russell2019s Bling Holding Back His Game -
I am unable to get this video to embed because it is only available as a flash. Please use the link above to view.
It looks like Javon Walker has shown Russell where to go diamond shopping. This guy will never get it and he is, with this display, only further embarrassing himself and the entire Raiders organization. He must be emancipated from the Raiders without further thought.

Holy crap...
Please Al, buddy, wake the f#$% up and cut this guy. If we cut him now, then it’s only 3 mil more and we are done with this waste of skin. He is 13 mil against the cap this year, that number is way too much, it’s insane, it’s out of control, please, someone do something! I can’t stand the sight of this douche anymore.

Haha
It really is starting to become an embarrassment to Oakland. This is funny because his necklace says “CHOSEN”

this is old news
A delicious battle cry though…
It is old news
done over and over and over. I understand we’re in the slow part of the off season but let’s not rehash news. Why not make posts about what the players have to say about Gradkowski since he’s a RFA and really should stick around:
And Oakland’s most productive player on offense – Zach Miller – and Russell’s security blanket on the field commented this season, "A love for the game that he shows in the way he plays, the way he calls plays. The way he works on details of plays with players, in between. He’s just uh, I think that’s the main thing I’m seeing with him. It’s just, he’s a get-after-it type of guy.
"He’s obviously a pretty smart guy, reads things well, throws a real good ball. He’s a pro quarterback, so they’re all good. We feel like we’ll be able to throw it around better now."
source: sbreport (an article about why Bruce should stick around)
And the fact that Gradkowski wants to be back:
"I plan to be back with the Raiders," Gradkowski stated to The Toledo Blade "I think everything will work out, and I’m looking forward to it. We did a lot of good things this year and I’m looking forward to next season."
source: American Chonricle
Or how The Raiders may use the transition tag on Janikowksi if needed
I’m just saying. I don’t like Russell either but no need to rehash old news to knock the guy down. There’s plenty of stuff to pick on him about.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
+1
There is not much real news on Grad, Janikowski and Seymour either though—that is, beyond the speculations and suggestions.

Are you still convinced that JR is beyond redemption? I waffle on this one.

I am.
After 3 years it’s a little late to change. Plus from what I’ve read that’s how he is personality wise. A leopard can’t change it’s spots.

Mellow type, he. They should drop him into the Maverick’s Big Wave competition – a little excitement won’t hurt.

yep, these rogue waves

very unfair to blast JR
for his weight-loss training regime. He spends his money on various objects, not all of which fit in his storage space, so he has to carry them with him. Plus, he had to practice for his performance as King Elexis I, which showed how much he loved his mom – b/c when it was her time to be crowned as a queen, she couldn’t do it, full as she was at the time with JR (no Demi Moore, she).
Seriously though—barbs are just barbs, they don’t help much beyond the instant venting. So far, JR has shown himself as an overpaid underachiever, and Al has given no indication that he plans to ditch him.

Was working this morning. Had no idea there was a big swell running up there.
Too bad it wasn’t when I was driving past last week! Checking out some video now. You wouldn’t catch me going out there, though!
Oh, and Jamarcus won’t change:) I’ve relegated myself to this fact, and also that we’ll keep his sorry ass on the depth chart for another start of a season. He will shoot himself in the foot.
I never actually saw that video; heard about, but never saw it.

I must rather go through another horrible season than to keep this guy making us look like a bunch of idiots, who have to come up with different excuses every Monday morning during the football season of why our RAIDERS lost the previous day. Al, cut JR loose admit you made a mistake and move on.

Right now I think Kiffin has his own problems.
But given what we’ve seen of his personality, I would have to agree he’s taking some enjoyment.
Also, I’m not sure where his grievance is right now w/ Davis, but if it’s still out there Russell doing poorly and Davis hanging on to him could help Kiffin a little bit.

I don't understand your comment
For once, his comment is probably true given the true colors of Lane’s personality we’ve seen lately and the fact that Kiffin was opposed to Russell from the beginning. His comment is as if little kids laughing and pointing at other kids due to their immaturity. Kiffin is just a big kid, sadly.

Misunderstanding
To everyone who thinks that JaMarcus is an arrogant jag-off for wearing a massive diamond studded “CHOSEN” chain, you are sadly mistaken. The chain is actually a reflection of his massive love of “CHICKEN.” The proof will come when he shows up for training camp cradling a bucket of KFC.

How much do you think all that is worth? Maybe, 24,000? 30,000?

Look into his eyes ....
Can anyone see in Jamarcus’ eyes that he really does not care? I can see it plainly. His mind and thoughts are not on football nor does he care what any of us think. I think the fans should boycott all games at home until they get rid of this guy. Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet.

Russell didn't start the last seven games and only played in them when the starters went down
plus Cable, who finally benched him, is back and expressed doubts about Russell. So why boycott the team when positive moves are being made? If we’d taken your advice in week 10, we would have missed the greatest comeback the Raiders have had in 20 years … and that was eclipsed two weeks later! No, this isn’t the time for peevish rebellion. Having said this, I won’t be surprised if Russell starts the first 2 games.

He has no worries, he's Al's favorite
JaMarcus isn’t worried about showing gross excess, because he knows Al Davis is in his corner, no matter what. I think he also knows that come Opening Day, he will be the starting quarterback again. He’ll have a job and money coming in as long as Al is around. Al thinks he is going to be a great quarterback, and may the stats to the contrary be damned!
wow--slow down and phrase it more precisely

Sadly, I think he's right.
However, I think Russell will only last 2 to 4 games.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Again,
I don’t know what JR or Al are thinking. JR sounds and acts like a placid oaf who needs 5 taps to process input. Whether he is indeed a placid oaf or just postures as one – not sure. Al’s reticence on whether he’ll start him or not indicates either diminished reasoning faculties or the presence of some other “hard” factors that disable him in making quick decision. Not enough transparency to know which one it is.

Well then a restructure is need to be done.
But if he made it through college and was eligible to play and he didn’t need special help, I think that argument fails.

I see. So no type of program to help these stupid kids out where you teach? Teachers just call them stupid and carry on?
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Straw man, huh:)
On the program for athletes at Berkeley, check this.
To be considered as having sound athletic programs, academic institutions need also to show that their athletes are good students, too. If the student athletes are unwilling to take advantage of programs like the above, there is pressure (sometimes) on the instructors to pass students.
I have had excellent student athletes and some horrific ones too. The second type always flaunt their lack of interest or say/write outrageous things to get a reaction. If they put a show only, I am able to engage them and they end up coming regularly to class, even if they don’t have time to study.
What else do you want to know? About a football player who wrote a paper on Odysseus one time?
I
by Spirals galore on Feb 16, 2010 5:24 PM PST up reply actions
I think teachers shouldn't bow to pressure
and if they don’t keep their grades up to be eligible to play, then they don’t play. If the student athletes are unwilling to take advantage of the programs, then they shouldn’t be granted an easy pass. They had the option. So therefore when you get into the NFL or whatever sport, the ability to fall back on being stupid is fail.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
sometimes the situation may involve other factors
this is from something I posted elsewhere:
"There’s got to be some sort of psychological problems with me," says Joe DeLamielleure, a Hall of Fame guard who was drafted in 1973. Joe was undersized, and the Buffalo Bills overlooked that. They also overlooked that before Joe finished Michigan State, his mother was the educated one in the house, having completed eighth grade, and Joe was one of 10 children and a bed wetter and a kid who woke up at 2 a.m. on weeknights to clean his dad’s bar in downtown Detroit, and then he’d climb back into bed for two good hours before it was time to dress for school.
"Teacher told my mother that nobody yawned as much as me," Joe says now. "These days, they’d have looked at all those issues and said, ’Nah, I don’t think this kid can do it."’
by Spirals galore on Feb 16, 2010 5:47 PM PST up reply actions
So a rough childhood
so that’s an excuse? Please. That’s been over done too. No one’s life is perfect. We all have issues and personal demons.
Every person makes a choice. If you have to work a little harder to achieve things, then you have the choice to work harder or to do nothing. So if the person doesn’t want to work harder in school to learn then he won’t work harder in a job, any job. So bleh. The “woe is me I had a bad life” excuse doesn’t fly with me either. People like DeLamielleure now need to have a chip on their shoulder and go into life with something to prove to make it. Unless someone is medically categorized as stupid, idiotic, or moronic, then I have no sympathy if they won’t work hard to achieve their goal.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
well--the point is
that he went on to become a Hall-of-Famer, despite of struggling with school early on.
You asked me if teachers just call such kids stupid and move on. My answer is no – you never know. If a kid underperforms at school, it may just mean that the teacher isn’t doing his/her job.

Maybe such an evaluation could help get a restructured contract or void the deal altogether
via incompetency, failure to disclose, or facts unknown to parties at time of agreement. Al might benefit by this latest trend in mental health emphasis.

Or, deep down, and not so deep down, Al wants to dump this guy off somewhere and cut his losses
In his dealings with Russell, Al is like the guy who opens his mail and discovers that his gorgeous wife has maxed out all the credit cards and put the horns of a cuckold on him. Does he ignore this? Does he reconcile with ‘her’? I don’t believe so.
by Sons-of-Blanda on Feb 16, 2010 6:54 AM PST
by Sons-of-Blanda on Feb 16, 2010 7:40 AM PST up reply actions
Then why doesn't he?
If he really wanted to do that, then he would. And for once the media would praise him for a right decision. All the evidence points to Russell being a bust. Even Al has to see it. So now we have a passing coordinator, a good QB coach, a maybe good, but alright QB type offense coordinator. So if he doesn’t show something by week 4 his career should be over. However, with all this help, I would think if he doesn’t show any improvement by pre-season games, it may be time to cut our losses. So if Al wants to give him one more chance, so bet it as long as he’s prepared to hit the kill switch early.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
I think Al is going about it shrewdly by acting like he truly believes in Russell (bringing in Jackson and not cutting
Russell when his stock is at a low point). Then, at an opportune moment – we read the welcomed headline: “The Oakland Raiders trade [JMR] to the X Ys.” (!!!)

Trading JaBlingAss would result in criminal charges
Any team that would take his lazy, good for nothing, non chalant, obese, self righteous, worthless piece of garbage would be awesome. However I fear that the FBI and local authorities will charge the Raider oraganization with Grand Larceny and possible RICO charges as well. If any GM in the league actually gave us a ball or whistle for this heap would be a windfall for us.

Why would therebe windfall for us?
It’s not like facts haven’t been disclosed. Afterall, Russell has actually played, and we’ve all seen it.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
It would be a windfall
because we would be getting rid of JaHoseBag and therefore a distraction and quite possibly some salary cap space. A ball or a whistle is fair trade for him.

Nothing is a good trade for him, on that note, too!
The alternative would be magical: no more vacuum sucking up any chance of winning we have, ahead of better players on the depth chart.

Everyone should check
THIS, and watch the video, where Jamarcus talks about how football has given him everything – from jets to jewels to real estate, you name it. The video is infuriating – the reporter talks how JR leads the Raiders to success. I am at loss for words – JR must be demented.
RAGE AND FURY
Jamarcus says his faith has guided him to success on the football field. he placed a large cross on the on the top of his train, to show his thanks for his many blessings. “God made everything possible, from the cars, the clothes, the jewels, the houses, real estate, the jets. God made it possible. I give my praises and honors to him.”
