Report: Raiders shopping much of the roster
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Oakland Raiders are shopping a lot of the roster and that includes star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

I'm with Saint
I don’t think anyone on the team should be untouchable for the right price well except for the great JaMarcus Russell of course.
When you haven't had a winning season for the best part of a decade
I think it would be irresponsible not to explore all avenues to improve and if we trade nnam for real value at need positions I’m all for it although it would pain me to see him go, same goes for any other big name player currently on the roster.

Asomugn is bait to get attention. I don't believe Al would part with him. It's a bait and switch maneuver the wily one has going
we trade off DHB (2.4), CJ (6.0), and DMc (5.4), and drop Kelly (7.0), Carlisle (3.5), Green (2.0) and Seymour (12.4)and come out $38.7 million ahead. Then, with Detroit shopping their 2pick we get Suh and also McClain and then do after 2OTs, a CB & a FB. Throw in Williams and Routt and and find a Center.

+1
I agree but unfortunately it makes too much sense. Now that we got stuck with Dick and his massive $12 mill contract.

What can we get?
Most of the roster may get us a jump in the line at the Salvation Army to get a free dinner.
We have few gems to get anything in return which will debilitate our team and drain us even further. We need to out right release any player who isnt giving fair value for money or earning their keep. Trade a gem or 2 if we get a better than fair exchange for a player like Nnamdi.
Who else could we be actually shopping?
Morrison? Ellis? Seymour (I hope)? McFadden (maybe but it will burn us in the end)?

I think
First of all, Adam Scheftler is retarded if he thinks he knows anything about the Raiders.
Second of all, this probably means Michael Bush, Richard Seymour, and Fargas
he is usually right when it comes to the Raiders
despite the claims of big Al and the organization
This is my city Oakland, California just to be exact il tell you where its at. Pick up a globe pick up a map see San Francisco cross the water right there exact....

We dont appreciate NA21
Shop everyone but him, Seymour, Branch, and Miller
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
We appreciate him just fine
Ask him as he stands there collecting his $9.5 mill over the next 3 yrs for each year.
He gets lots of props if we can get something worth while I say everyone is untouchable especially Seymour he has loyalty to the Raiders and is not worth franchising him at $12 mill next year.

I like the concept of nobody being held back for shopping,
But what I fear the most is who will take over if players Like Nnamdi, Branch, Miller, Seymour (more than likely will), Ellis, Bush, Fargas, Henderson, Gallery, Murphy, and others leave for the right price. If you not these, if AL does not make great picks in this draft, then these positions will be SORELY MISSED. I say go for it, but TREAD VERY VERY CAUTIOUSLY.

And remember,
Guess who we might end up helping even more? The Patriots. Not that I dislike them (Jets Fans can rot for all I care), but it would be a serious inslut to me, if we traded with the patriots AGAIN.

As the world turns....
Well it seems Randy Hanson and his broken jaw are back as he’s filed a lawsuit against Tom Cable and the Raiders…..(sighs)…..is this team ever going to generate some good news?
This despicable spawn of a jackel and a chicken may lead to Cable's final downfall - bad for him good for the Raiders
Al may have a way out yet.

But the guy is accusing All as well
of forbidding him to coach.

Hanson’s lawsuit […] says the Raiders made only a cursory investigation of the attack and ratified Cable’s conduct by failing to discipline him and by not allowing Hanson to remain as an assistant coach.
Hanson said he wanted to return to his job as an assistant defensive backs coach, but was told on Dec. 8 that he could only come back for a personnel department job. Hanson said he wasn’t allowed to attend home games and was told to stay away from the team’s cafeteria and from parts of the building where players and coaches worked.

for more, see the link under the Hanson coach.
I’ll try to locate the complaint itself for accurate info.

I must be demented
the link is under the post about the lawsuit.

But there were witnesses whose accounts all matched Cable's and contradicted Hanson's
Therefore, Hanson caused a lot of trouble and brought negative publicity upon the Raiders – Al will probably file a counter-suit. And to think Al brought this wretch back to scout and for his kindness is bitten by the yapping cur. These lawsuits always add Defendants with deeper pockets than the main Defendant. Al and the Raiders will not be harmed by this drama. Cable will be exposed to a variety of embarrassing testimony, given his past, and the intensity of the discovery process and that may lead to Al’s opportunity to jettison the overripe squash.
I do not believe Cable will lose at trial either b/c of the supporting testimony of the coaching staff present at the incident; they are not likely to change their testimony which they gave under oath to the Napa DA (for one thing that might constitute perjury) because they are honorable men.
Long live Al and the Raiders – confusion and confoundation upon those who would harm the great institution und ze fuhrer.

Hanson's bigger has a bigger problem than coaches sticking to their story.
Randy the puss has to explain why HIS story kept changing. He’s going to get picked apart. I’m sure the jury will be interested in his explanation of his comment to the DA (after initially saying he wouldn’t press charges), “The Raiders aren’t giving me what I want. I want to press charges!”
Seriously, having a guy like this on the staff really shows Al’s mental state. There was a time when Al would probably have reviled a turd such as this and wouldn’t have hired him in the first place.
turkey on grammar - you're understood
Al has showed a lapse of judgment regarding some coaches and assistance – no argument on that.

I'd really hate to see the Asomugha's, Branches, Louis Murphy's go
but wish them successful careers wherever they go. Great young players who deserve real shots at the super bowl, and if it can’t be offered here in Oakland, than I wish them luck elsewhere.
That said, it’ll hit home, for sure. There are very few jersey’s I’ll invest in, and there are several names on the current roster that I’ll probably get regardless of where they’ll go this year, and why.

Only Aso makes big money, if Al is trying to free some cash he has great value with Murph and Branch
Never occurred to me, till tonight, that Aso might not be with us. But, if cut backs are the trend, then certainly Seymour, Kelly, Green and Carlisle are closer to the axman’s stump than Nnamdi.
by Sons-of-Blanda on Feb 23, 2010 8:57 PM PST up reply actions
I love Aso the player
That being said his contract is really terrible and it probably would not be the worst thing for the Raiders. He would have to land somewhere he wants to go bad enough to restructure sense no GM in football would pick up his current contract. With Brees, Manning and Brady all coming up on potential raises and Aso’s clauses he could be making 18+ mil a years soon as a CB.
"-i never said half the things i said." --Yogi Berra
Nnamdi, Russel, and Kelly's
contracts are way to huge to move, no one will take them. Anyone else is fair game! Change this roster!!!
"We can't stop here... This is bat country."
No one will take Nnamdi?
I think just about every team would want him
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?
- Vince Lombardi
Then use Aso for leverage on a package deal that move a less attactive high paid under-performer, e.g. Kelly, Carlisle, Seymour

It would be nice
I dont think too many teams will ine up for those 3 players and the bloated contracts, unless of course we eat a part of their contracts especially Kelly’s. His contract is the most obscene except ofr JaNoShowBloatAss and now Seymour.

This is the best news a Raiders fan can hear...
aside from Al giving full control to an experienced GM. If we could get rid of Kelly’s, Fargas’, Javon Walker’s, Seymour’s, Routt’s, & for the right price Nmamdi’s contracts it would be such a relief keeping those contract’s off the books. Unfortunately no word about Jafatfuck being possibly cut this year since Al doesn’t want to strap this team with the $13 he is owed this year to stink it up 1 more year.
get another reciever
I think boldin would be good, too help out the other recievers, get rid of russell, start grad at qb.Last offensive help.
We also either
need to incorporate Walker into our offense since we’re paying him, or let him go.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
Only two teams could afford
Dallas and New England are the only two teams that could afford to entertain Asomogha as a legitimate aquisition. He just signed a ludicrous contract with Oakland, he says he is happy in Oakland——and why not? This is a team with some youth, and with a winner at QB in Gradkowski. Nnamdi will be in Silver and Black again this season.
