What's the history this guy has

Besides Defensive Coordinator of the Chiefs?

I think this is a good move.

The chiefs secondary was good last year, or at least under the radar.

So

is this guy good? Because I’ve never heard of him. Any help is good at this point.

he basically made the chiefs secondary legit.

so I’d say yes. Even though he does not have much of a history.

22nd in the league against the pass is legit?

I’d say there is a good chance the modest improvement from 28th in 2008 to 22nd in 2009 was related to the fact the two starting CB’s were second year players instead of rookies.

Clancy Pendergast

was Arizona’s DC the year they went to the SB.

Don't blame me, I voted for content of character.

Since no one wanted to look it up

I’ll plagiarize from his wiki page:

(edited the copy and paste to keep the relevant information)

Early Coaching career

He was a graduate assistant or assistant coach at Mississippi State, University of Southern California, University of Oklahoma, and University of Alabama at Birmingham before joining the Houston Oilers in 1995.

After a year with the Oilers, he joined the Dallas Cowboys, where he spent seven seasons, first as defensive assistant/quality control/linebackers coach (1996-99), and later handing responsibilities in nickel defense packages (2000) and the secondary (2001-02). Pendergast helped develop first-round draft pick Roy Williams into a Pro Bowl safety. In 2003, he was linebackers coach with the Cleveland Browns.

Arizona Cardinals

While working in Cleveland, Pendergast impressed personnel man Jeremy Green to the point that when Green’s father, Dennis Green, became the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, Jeremy convinced him to interview Pendergast for the job. Green was so impressed that he hired Pendergast as the Cardinal’s Defensive Coordinator.

After Dennis Green’s firing, he was retained as defensive coordinator under new Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt. Clancy helped lead the Cardinals into Super Bowl XLIII, but was fired on Friday February 6, 2009, less than one week after Arizona lost to Pittsburgh 27-23 in the Super Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs

When Cardinals fired Pendergast, he was immediately linked with a move to Kansas City Chiefs. Clancy Pendergast officially became the defensive coordinator for the Chiefs on March 13, 2009, where he reunited with Head Coach Todd Haley, who was offensive coordinator at Arizona during Pendergast’s time there.

So in all not a bad choice I don’t think.

The original article about Morrison's uncertain future with the Raiders

is here. (It is not absolutely original, but based on Shefter twittering.)

In other news, the Raiders’ assistant coaches have been telling players that the coaching staff for 2010 will remain intact.

Well of course it'll remain intact

we’re past the deadline to let the assistans go.

And no, I don’t know what the penalty is to tell the assistants if they’re remaining or not.

appreciate the pointers, you guys!

I feel like a dumbass trying to figure it all out! That clears it up, but I’m not guaranteeing I’ll get it right every time! lol

I Think he wants to stick it to the Chiefs!!!

AND…That’s a Good Thing!!!!

perhaps.

or maybe he just wants a job and we called him. Either way, I believe it’s one of our better moves so far. I’m liking it better than Hue Jackson. Hue Jackson will be a wait and see. Our defense with the latest hire and former Giants coach hire will make our defense even better, and last year I don’t think we had far to go with the defense.
