Shawn Andrew's released by the Eagles.. get our your checkbook Al quick!
He has been a very good Offensive Tackle for the Eagles since 2004. He made the pro bowl in 2006-2007. Andrew's has had some character issues but he could do a lot for our O-line. This could be the big move we have been waiting for in the free agency. So what do you guys think should we stick with what we have and hope to get our future right tackle in the draft, or go with the big boy Andrews?

It would be an upgrade
So I’m all for it, which may allow us to take a defensive position in the first round. Even if it happened, I’d still like to see an OT taken in the draft.
The Airman of Westwood
Well they would have to go after an OT in the draft anyways because Andrews is not a OT he's a guard. I would still sign him, but it would have no affect on drafting an OT in the 1st round.
If hes a Guard then hell yeah!
Sign him to maybe a 3 Yr deal. Then we draft a RT in the draft. Theres a RT out of Iowa whos shooting up draft boards. He doesnt have great footwork or speed, But hes big and mean
In Bruce We Trust
Well dont we need a RG too.?
I would like Langston Walker to return but we dont have a good RG do we.? so far we have…
LT- Barner or Henderson
RT- hopefully a draft pick
C- Satele
LG- Gallery
RG-????
we could use him as guard, crew tackle, we can draft an RT.
Cooper Carlisle
is opposite Gallery. An aging guard that has been good in the past but cannot keep up anymore.
"We can't stop here... This is bat country."
Carlisle needs a change in scenery, maybe back to Mississippi or the nearest pro-team in those parts
we got him from Denver – maybe they’ll take him back.

Carlisle needs to go
And we need to draft Lupati to play Guard. I think were one RG away from having a solid line. For this year atleast
In Bruce We Trust
must....have...LT
With captain nimble toes likely to come back at QB ( I know everyone thinks Bruce’ll have the inside trace, but I’ve adopted a believe it when I see it attitude)
We need an elite LT to have any chance of having a good offense.

Henderson is superb
as long as he has a sold LG next to him. When Galley wasnt injured, Henderson was playing at an elite level
In Bruce We Trust
Super Mario stays at LT, Gallery stays at LG, Lanky Walker moves to RG and Iupati converts to RT
So let it be written – so let it be done.

Bad Idea - don't even consider Andrews
The injury-plagued career of offensive lineman Shawn Andrews has taken a sudden turn, with the Eagles announcing on Wednesday his release. It was not unexpected, given that Andrews missed most of the last two seasons with a back injury that required separate surgeries.
Read this
This guys done nothing in 2 full years following two back surgeries – next thing we’d see is wheelchairs on the sideline.
Note: you might consider proofreading your first draft before posting – starting with the title (“Andrews,” “out”).
I forgot about his injuries
In that case, Id have to say stay away. Ryhme intended.
And the Andrew’s/Andrews thing is an honest mistake that ALOT of people would make
In Bruce We Trust
No, he's injury-prone & we all know about 1st round guards who are injury-prone.
If you all are talking about free agent tackles why not take a flyer for a 1-year deal on Tra Thomas? He was a perenniel pro bowler at left tackle & no matter who we draft he can provide a mentor-type role with great savvy for those guys as well as Super Mario… hehehe always thought that was a funny nickname.
He will be brought in for a workout; if they like him, I'll be intrigued
I think they have some great info on some guys we’ve been looking at, and will looking hard to evaluate where he compares with the potential guys we might have our eyes on at T and G.
He will be worked out.
"If your only ambition in life, is to be a better person; well, that's just the best ambition you can have..." Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew
is it fact or speculation he will be brought in for a workout?
if this guy is healthy and ready to play 16 games then this could be good. he bacame a very dominate guard before his mishaps. 2 other FA i wouldnt mind getting in for a look is Trotter and Vasher. i think these 2 guys have plenty of football left in them and just kinda got outcasted by their teams and coaches. i dont know i still like what these 2 could provide for a couple years.

that him
i know hes older, not as old as ray lewis, but he can still stuff the run and run a defense i think. unless we have a stud mlb on our draft radar in the 2nd or 3rd round i wouldnt mind him for a year stint kinda like ellis.

Ray Lewis could be 50 and still play at a higher caliber than 80%
Of the people in this league. Bringing in Trotter at MLB would be decreasing in talent at th MLB posisition
In Bruce We Trust
If he can
keep McNabb from getting killed, he oughta be pretty decent with Gradkowski back there. I say go after him, save the pick for a defensive back.
Refuse to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death
my bad hes a guard
i remember he was gonna be moved to tackle but he got injured
he has injuries/ damaged goods
thats why the eagles let him go!
