Restructure Russell's Contract NOW!! Go after T.O.

Let's not forget about JaMarcus Russell. I'm not sold on this guy yet and looking at his past track record I HIGHLY recommend his contract be renegotiated.  He is not yet worth the money his is to be awarded this season.   Also why not pick up T.O. to help boost our receiving.  Since no one is really calling him to work, Raiders could pick him up for a 1yr at a very cheap price.

Almost all of us strongly dislike Russell and want him off the team for good

And Signing T.O. is a no no. We have 3 young WR’s that dont need there reps taken from them by a big mouth drama queen.

Asked and Answered

A reporter asked JaFatAss Russell about this last year and he said it would not happen as his contract was a done deal. While JaFatAss Russell may not seem too bright, his agent is. He does not HAVE to re-negotiate for the good of the team and by bringing him back he has the leverage. All they could do is cut him and try to re-sign him at a lower rate. Sadly, JaFatAss Russell holds the cards in this.

im down for TO

Even though he had a bad season last year he kept a pretty good attitude despite the horrible quarterback situation in Buffalo. If we bring him in our young receivers i think could really benefit from his experiance. Kind of like how we picked up Jerry Rice after his run with the niners was over. If we dont get TO id like to see him go back to the Niners and finish out his career there, i think he could help them out taking Isaac Bruce’s spot, and help out their young receiving core of Crabtree and Morgan.

no TO.

looking at him last year, he was washed up, and it did not look like that any receivers were improved. Also, he would ask for more money than he’s worth, and will whine if he gets underpaid, and he would be a disturbance here as well. Just like Randy Moss was here(raiders). I don’t think he’ll be any help here at all.

I agree no to TO

He will be talking smack to anyone who will listen about how horrible Jafatturd is & Al will have him in the doghouse. It would be a wasted investment much like…hey!! Remember Javon & Randy? Yeah, no thanks.

He won't restructure

regardless of how it hurts the team. At least we are uncapped, his hit would have been 13 million. Great contract AL!!!!

Fine him everyday he's unfit (everyday) ... I hope Al's attorney, Birrin, wrote a smart contract anticipating this scenario

according to reports, Russell has a history of overindulging with food and having to be pushed to exercise. The guy will not change and the sooner we part company the better. WTF was Willy Brown talking about that the Blob had a “transformed body from last year” and “You’ll be amazed” … Deep South supporting Deep South.

I totally agree. Most pro athlete contracts have some sort of stipulations for fitness but I am guessing JaNeverMissedAMeal’s agent had some sort of vague discription of that put in or not allowed all together.

TO

Between TO’s past and his agent Drew “The Leach” Rosenhaus, you see there are not six teams interested in him like last time. Six teams, yeah right, and you sign with Buffalo?

haha, his days are gone!

were beter off without him. i say go with the wr’s we have and were still better off

Let T.O. fail in Cincy and the Bengals with him. It’s about time Baltimore got back to true dominance.

This has been talked about

As another person commented JaNeedJennyCraig will never restructure his contract he said so publicly. Let him rot on the bench until we dont have to pay him anymore guaranteed money and lets see how many teams line up to sign him ot some great contract. The 2 people that constantly suck on his tail pipe will be eating their ridiculous supporting comments of him when that time comes. All I hear from those 2 morns is “he hasnt been given a real chance” “he has great potential” blah fucking blah. I can hardly wait for the day when they do a story of JaBuffetKing and “Where are they now?” “Or whatever happened to?” and there he is sitting on a porch in a reclaimed recliner from Goodwill with more holes than his head, talking about how broke his ass is because he blew it all partying and eating and now all his entourage buddies who he took care of are living off all the $$$ he gave them because they were smart enough to save it.

Yes definitely that too. Maybe he will get an appearance on Celebrity Fit Club or one of those TLC shows with the morbidly obese people.

He would bethe first to go on one of those shows. LOL!

He doesn’t have the dedication or drive to continue with a health regiment or workout routine considering he’s getting paid millions to do so now. He’s a worthless turd & I have no faith in him to turn it around. Just look at his demeanor.

I am still with the belief that TO would help develop our young receivers, last year I said

Vick would be a great help coming off the bench when we could have had him for little or nothing…Why, TO, well, because he brings confidence and the respect of D coordinators..he will make our receivers better, you get reps in practice and make plays in games on the field…if you are dropping passes and not running your routes properly during games, I don’t want your ass on the field…TO will make the Raiders offense better, I am not concerned about all the mess, this guy works his ass off and it will rub off, he is not a youngster anymore and he knows what he needs to do to remain in this league a few more years.. He is a mercenary, you pay him for a job and he performs, had he played for the Raiders he would have been their leading receiver…That is based on his numbers in Buffalo…Its as if, guys don’t want to win, I am about winning, and to do so you need playmakers, say what you want but so far we dont have a playmaker..A player you can count on when it is time to make a play, a go to guy..etc… All we have is hopefuls on our roster on offense, period…TO would free up Schil, can you imagine those two on the field together, with DHB wide and TO in the slot..it would be ugly..if DHB will catch the ball and run a proper route, understanding it is his job to make that DB believe he is going somewhere he has no intention of going, and make him believe it so much the DB wants to get there before he does, see ya,, DHB going in the opposite direction…I played ball in college and against some great players and the best receivers played with deception in their game, I was a CB…I talk to a couple of friends of mine about TO coming to the Raiders and both said with the speed of our youngsters, it would change the dynamics of our offense and one of the guys I spoke to is in the HOF…and both had long careers in the league…We all have our opinions but I assure you, if the Raiders do what they did personal wise like they did last year, if we win 4 games it will be a miracle…

Even HOFers can be wrong sometimes about certain things, TO being the one this time...

He’s a bigger draw on the locker room than an uplifting presence. I don’t care how good he is; his negatives always outweigh his positives. Ask yourself: would Parcells even consider bringing him back into an organization under his watch? Hell no. He’s very close with Al, and Al is cut from the same stock, so I find this scenario not happening for Oakland.

what are you smoking???????????????????

cut russell and dont even sign t.o. both are the best moves!

Thats way too much and they havent even said the length that is expected for the aforementioned contract. What dope smoking GM is going to sign TO to a 4yr $20mill contract with I imagine half or so upfront and/or guaranteed money.
He will be a big distraction tho and maybe JaAteHisMomma will want TO just for the fact that it will draw the camera and attention away from him.

They don't have to a dope smoking GM...

just Al Davis…

although I think if it were going to happen then Al would have pulled the trigger by now.

BUT: There is a good case to be made of waiting as long as possible before offering him something (with clauses re behaviour) and then being able to get him for a discounted price. Although Al is well known for overpaying I think he has been far more restrained this offseason.

Also, if get we get Mcnabb I could see TO making “I’d love play with him again” comments to try and get a spot.

JR is just not a team player. I remember a few years ago Chipper Jones restructured his contract so that the Braves could go out and sign key players that would help the team. I know that’s baseball, but the idea is the same. He just doesn’t want to do his part to help his team out.

I forget, when does his contract end if we don’t cut him?
