Sad...
Love the heart and the hustle, but we are broke over here! Now I want to see posts about Kelly, Warren, JaFalldown, and Carlisle being cut as well.
Good luck Fargas!!!!

?
Not sure you have that right. I have not heard a whole lot of anti-Fargas sentiment here. He was getting a little too much $$ maybe but he showed up to play when in uniform and is a true Raider.

Yeah
I havent ran into a single Fargas basher yet. Mainly because he was the hardest playing mother trucker out there. Not alot of players like him left in this era

Are you serious?
I can remember about a season ago everyone was complaining, including myself, about how he was cables guy… Why did we resign him… Why is he getting more PT then McBush? Don’t act like it didn’t happen. All I’m sayin is he didn’t do much and in his 7 years here.

I remember, when everyone
Was complaining about how Bush deserved more carries, and he wasn’t that god, we should trade him.
I was never one of those people.

Cable guy?
The guy was here way before Cable was given any sort of authority. He got resigned for insurance we had/have a fairly young group of RBs at the time. He was the go to guy 3-4 seasons ago. No one is saying he was All-World but we all appreciate his contribution, heart and loyalty.
I have no ill will to the man he gave us what he had above his actual talent.

One of my favourite Raiders
this is Sad I thought he was our most consistent back last year and epitomized what how we need to play. I cant help but think that if we could find 3+ million for Routt surely we could have kept Huggy Bear. McFadden MUST step up now and Bush better be working damn hard on his conditioning.

I hope he gets signed to another team.
So they can expect the same thing he brought to us. He’s a True Raider.

Fargas
I could see him going to San Diego or Kansas City. Sproles and Charles are both speed backs and Fargas would provide a change of pace as a banger.

Failed Physical
According an Adam Caplan report, running back Justin Fargas failed his latest physical in Oakland.
Fargas missed time late in the season with a knee injury that required draining. Teams aren’t going to be rushing out to sign a gimpy 30-year-old, so he’s not going to draw immediate interest on the open market.
The failed physical might have had just as much to do with the roster bonus.

Thst is a very good point as well.
HBs, when they reach 30, and have injuries like that, can become a liability.

He barely rushed
Over 3000 yards in 7 seasons!!! He might have been a great person to have on the team but his production wasn’t or has been worth “great” raider label. I hope he has the opportunity to prove people wrong though.

he didnt become a full time starter untill the miami game in 07
he avg. over 5 ypc and was a backup and was way under used until jordan got hurt and fargas proved what the team had been keeping set aside. to bad we didnt make him our #1 back when he was 25 years old and healthier than 27. he stil has football left in him.
I'd get a second opinion - he's bounced back from worse and never looked "gimpy" in his life (another brick in the wall
for this ‘organization’).

The fact is this, almost any player whose played even half a season would fail a normal (man on the street) physical
These players are asked (tacitly required) to play consistently hurt with deep bone bruises, muscle tears, sprains, pulls, cracked bones, etc. and that Fargas should now fail a team physical is a convenient pretext to release him. It’s pure hypocrisy. I am disgusted more and more with our gutless low-life administration.
by Sons-of-Blanda on Mar 7, 2010 9:24 PM PST up reply actions
And Cable, with his HR handbook trite gutless words to Justin "we are going in a different direction"
The bloated swine – I’m hungry for the day someone tells him he’s out using the same freaking words.

o_o
You think this was Cable’s decision?
I’m sticking to my slogan….BUT…If it comes out that this WAS Cable’s decision, I would be angry..especially after all of the playing time that Fargas was given last year.
by NFLanalyzerfromhome on Mar 8, 2010 7:52 PM PST up reply actions
Not that it was Cable's decision, I don't believe that. I don't like the way Cable handled it.
Then Cable lays it on with the bit about waiting to see the results of the physical while knowing it was already determined that Justin would fail it – that’s overkill and weak. But I suspect that Al is using Tom now as a hatchet man and after the necessary purge is done someone will pay Cable a visit and say the words of termination – hey, maybe they’ll make it contingent on his passing a physical – too poetic for real life.
by Sons-of-Blanda on Mar 8, 2010 8:49 PM PST up reply actions
Seeing it that way,
I understand…You would have rather him tell Fargas up front. That makes sense, and it’s the right thing to do, especially for a player like Fargas.
And honestly, if the hatchet thing were to happen, I wouldn’t be surprised. Can’t be surprised at anything after Kiffin…..EXCEPT Hiring Gruden Back.

Knee injuries are scary things
they can leave lasting problems and be problematic over time. Depending on what he had, there’s no telling if there was scarring that could be a problem down the road. I hate to see the guy go, and he’s one of my favorite Raiders, but I’m just saying that knee injuries, depending on what they are, can be serious.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
+1
Especially in a game like football AND especially at that position of RB. Once OA starts settling in and you continue to pound….not much to say but in a few year full on replacement or at the very least synthetic synovial injections and tonnes of treatment and remediation.

Not as scary as treacherous gutless bloated swine herders
by Sons-of-Blanda on Mar 7, 2010 9:31 PM PST up reply actions
My problem is with the way it was handled. Starting with Cable's,,,
“the team is moving in a different direction” ice-breaker to one of the only Raiders who was striving to move the team in the only direction that matter – winning games. Then the ace-in the hole card- the exit physical (which is mandatory) was played – which was overkill, b/c Justin already got the message, so that was just legalistic high-handedness, i.e. and since you won’t get past our physical this time you just have to accept it and walk or restructure a deal that pays you whatever crumbs we choose (that are left after we pay the handsome speedsters that we carry in reserve). Then, the organization goes out and tells the media that Fargas failed the physical and won’t be coming back – you know anyone fails in this league who they want to fail – these team doctors are whores and pass guys for duty with life-threatening concussions and risks to permanent joint damage all the time – just shoot them up with local pain killer and send them out. I will be glad when the Chiefs pick him up and I hope he gains 100 yds against us.

You're blaming everyon except the guy in charge?
Doesn’t Al ever do anything wrong in your eyes? This time, Cable actually was just the messenger. Doesn’t make it alright, or him less culpable, but Davis made the decision. Why don’t you ever admit that he makes mistakes? Including the hiring and retainment of Cable.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
He was waived days before earning a $1.7 million bonus, but he likely will not re-sign with the Raiders at a discounted price before training camp.
“I don’t see that happening, no,” said Fargas, who added that coach Tom Cable told him the team was "moving in a different direction. They said it was strictly about money. I know some things were put out there, I guess they said pass a physical … I’m fine.
“I’m a little disappointed by the way it happened, but I understand it’s a business.”

If it's strictly about the money
then I doubt Cable had any decision in this. I would bet it was Amy and Al.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!
No doubt. And, it was a good decision for the Raiders. But the way they handled it was disgraceful - I hate Cable
he is no father figure or even a big brother figure he is a lackey without much intelligence or understanding and I will never be at home with my own team until this intruder, this free-loader, is thrown out with his doughnut stained knapsack.

Yeah the guys a horrible person
no doubt there, but all I see you do is blame this on Cable. And yet never the true powers that be. Cable tried to sugarcoat it, I guess. Whatever. PR fluff maybe. But you’re mad because of how a message was delivered, instead of at the people that sent the message?
You need to stop letting your hatred for the man consume you. He sucks, yup. He’s there for now. Accept and move on.
Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til I die!

One of the few actual football players left, A true Raiders and a hard runner. I hope he gets signed to a playoff team and someone who can get him a ring

i hate this!
i know its probably smart business, but he needs to stay in oakland, especially if Rout and Barnes are. The thing is most people say look at his 3.8 ypc avg, but Justin would get you those 3.8 when the team needed 3.7 to move chains on 3rd downs and he had 60 minutes in him and was running better in the 4th than any other quarter. i guess the day always comes when you will have to shoot your best dog and for me this sucks. best of luck Justin you have deserved better for the last 7 years and hope you get it!
Too sad
Went hard every play and kept fighting, i was at the game where he got 1000 yards and it was great. i hope he gets a ring
We all love the Warriors..
We all hate Cohan as an owner of this franchise…
