Raiders Release Fargas
Raiders release RB Justin Fargas
It looks as though the Raiders got rid of Justin Fargas a few hours ago. I assumed that this was going to happen as he was owed a big chunk of change .. I actually heard this news from my dad, before there was an official AP release. While I believe Michael Bush is a good direction to go, it will be sad to see someone like Fargas go. I know his statistics were not the best, but he had a heart, and was an inspirational leader. There’s no doubt in my mind that if he had better physical abilities (say the speed of McFadden, strength of Bush), he would have been an unstoppable power house. I believe I read on the website Zach Miller and Justin Fargas were both nominated for the Commitment to Excellence award .. It’s good to see that the Raiders at least acknowledged him. The ceremony was on March 13? If so I hope he still goes through with it. Football is a business, and he deserves to be praised for his efforts.
On another note, I’ve followed Silver & Black Pride for awhile now. I enjoy reading everyone’s input and how they feel the direction of the team should go. It’s refreshing not hearing bashing of the Raiders constantly. Being a diehard Raider fan from San Diego, I hear it on a constant basis. It matters not however, as they have been my team and I will stick by them no matter what Mr. Davis decides to do. I will try and respond more to these posts ..
Just a little about me .. I’m 22 and have a beautiful wife and three children and one on the way .. All little Raider fans .. I work two jobs and spend most (if not all) of my free time with them. I catch the Raider games by taking the family out to any (family) establishment I can when it’s not on TV (which is a lot down here). Anyway, don’t want to bore anyone, was just looking for a way to introduce myself. Hope to talk to you all about one of my greatest passions, The Oakland Raiders ..

If every player we have played as hard as Justin we would be in the playoffs
I’m glad you’re one of us RC5150
I loved watching this guy play...
No fear, all heart and hustle, good luck to you brother. We will cheer you on where ever you land! Well, except the obvious…
How in the hell can we pay “burnt toast” Routt 3 million, and can’t get this guy 1.7?
"We can't stop here... This is bat country."
Welcome RaiderCreator
a 4th kid and 2 jobs!!!! You’re a heck of a lot tougher than me.
We’ve been talking about this on another post and I think we all agree it’s good to see more new names on the site.
painful, sad moment
I´m new on this, but i used to read this site, nice, in my country we follow very close the silver & black (personally since 1990) and this release is a headscratching issue, in the last 7 years I have never seen another hearted player on the roster like huggy jr… I hope resign him cheaper & throw out Jaridiculus joke-hell…

Welcome sir
Justin is a real football player, and I hope he gets signed to a great team and gets himself a ring before he retires

Its all for the better...
I too hope he gets signed to start and gets a ring in Minn or something, if not we know two things, 1: Al always takes care of guys like him, you never see any former Raiders ranting about being old, tore up, n broke, do you?
2: We all know Fargas would get to play as long as he was with the team, the only way to get Bush, and DMF rolling and crushing defenses is to have just them. time to get a Fargas Jersey! who wears current players anyway!?!? Tramp

Well, the dubious failing a Fargas on the physical doesn't seem like a good start for taking care of him
Justin told Schefter after that “I’m in good shape.” This was clearly a pretext for organization’s exit strategy on him.

Welcome, bro. Sounds like you got your hands full! Remind me a little of our site's founder, with that soccer team you're working on! lol
The Fargas thing is bittersweet, but there comes a time in every team’s life that parting ways is the thing that needs to be done. Let us hope his best days in the AFC West were for us, and not against us.
Stick around; we need more regulars, and new voices to enhance our discussions!

Oh, and is the 5150 from creating the young Raiders, or is the 5150 responsible for your creating all the Raiders?
Nice nickname, my man! Is it a chicken before the egg kinda thing?

Actually ..
I’ve had a Raider shirt for awhile that a teacher got me that states “Hardcore Raider Fans are 5150 ..” I’ve just included it in a bunch of my tags. And yeah the RaiderCreator was due to all my kids liking the Raiders. (Even when they’re confused and the Raiders aren’t playing on T.V., they’ll still yell “Go Raiders”). They do the same thing when I play Madden, Thanks for the welcome everyone.

We do have our certifiable tendencies, don't we?
I teach kids that habit myself, whenever possible! It’s great when the kids yell it out, completely and wholly believing it 100%! Classic!

spiller is coming to oaktown
have you ever wonder why did al davis release this guy is because he want a speedy rb again like the guy from clemson c.j spiller
Though I wouldn't want to waste a high pick, CJ will be a stud in this league
I have absolutely no doubt about that guy, whatsoever. I’ve always loved and will sorely miss Justin’s uber-violent, slashing run style. If there was a stat on how many defenders he’s taken out with injuries it’d be impressive. Guys think twice about tackling Justin, for the punishment he dishes out. Unfortunately, his style would suggest he were a much larger, more durable body, who often takes himself out of the game doing so. Has since SC.

Fargas will be missed
I did enjoy watching him play his ass off for us and put his whole body on the line for the team. He was effective as a pass blocker and ran hard between the tackles (maybe a little to hard for his stature). I wish we could put his heart & drive into McFadden, but Justin Fargas was a true Raider.

Fargas Release
As a lifelong USC and Raider Fan I was saddened by the release of Fargas. When we drafted Bush and McFadden I knew the writing was on the wall. Fargas has always been a hard worker and runner for our team. If he had weighed about 20 pounds more I think he would be our #1 back and we probably wouldn’t have even needed Run DMC. Unfortunetly his hard nosed style may be to much for his body to take. While we get alot of the same style of running from Bush, you just can’t replace the sheer will and deterrmination that Fargas showed everytime he was in the game. He Will Always Be A Raider To Me. Good Luck with the rest of your career #25, I miss you already!!!
Word dude. Never quite seen it summed up better

One of my good friends from the LBC, who was actually an mma fighter at the time
Pretty hardcore submissions guy and skilled jiu-jitsu sylist, and in amazing shape—he used to say that shit constantly. It was pretty funny actually, after a while. Not a bad surfer, either.

A True Raider
My thanks to Mr. Fargas for showing us all what playing with heart is all about.Justin never played less than 100% and for that I say thank you.He was never given the credit he deserves for playing with that reckless style that I wish a few more Raiders could adopt, sure he wasn’t the greatest running back we ever had but I enjoyed watching him. I only wish we had a line and a QB that could have made him better. All that aside ,good luck with your career and I will remember you as a great Trojan and Raider that always came to play.Your grit will surely be missed on this team of underachievers.
