Draft a good center in the draft to sure up the O line... unleash Mcfadden and Bush (although Justin Fargas would be my pick) T.O. could mentor our young recieving corp H-B, Miller, Murphy, Schillens, These guyz game would shine just b/c of his practice habits if nothin else .....Stretchthe feild with speedy recievers as well as a strong run game up the middle or on the ends (classic raider strategy) Our D can keep us in the game ....This offensive formula can surely produce A Potent, Fast, High energy Scoring offensive machine

Oh, damn. I thought you were another person trying to tell me how much better Bruce Gradkowski is than Ben Roethlisberger.

He is....(A better fit) By the way, no one said he was better....must be hearing or seeing things....
Having an above average cast (Hines Ward, Holmes, average O-line) is not hilarious Rated R….just sayin…
The RaiderLaker
No one said he was better, but it was sure implied a few times. It’s laughable.

No one implied shit
You said the following:
His on field performance is directly related to the talent and coaches around him. There is no getting around it.
That says it all. You make it sound like the team carried him.

Listen, are you saying that Ben did it all by himself and he carried the team
on his back to the Superbowl win???
Every QBs on field performance is directly related to the personnel around him, but not solely related to it.That’s all I’m saying, it’s a team game, and Ben had a better team.
Ben might be a better QB than Rad. He certainly is by stats alone. All I’m saying is, it’s hard to compare.
Wow, Rated R, you have the same mentality as Ben...no wonder...
Its all about the fu.cking team, not one man!! The Cast the coaches all play a big part…What Rated R is trying to say is that even if you put him on the Lions he will still take them to the playoffs maybe even the super bowl thats how good Ben is. (lmao) “Im so good, my team needs me, but i’m injured so they’ll see how much they need me” -Ben (when he was injured last year or year before) enough!!! A TEAM CARRIES EACH OTHER.

Ben's Bodyguard "dragged" woman to restroom (did dirty work for him) then he guarded the restroom while Ben proceeded...

When I defended Ben, this wasn’t known. What is your point?

This wasn’t about the Steelers as a team. This was about Roethlisberger.
What Rated R is trying to say is that even if you put him on the Lions he will still take them to the playoffs maybe even the super bowl thats how good Ben is.
I’m trying to say Roethlisberger makes the Lions a better team. If he came here, he’d make us a better team.
A TEAM CARRIES EACH OTHER.
Tell rambis64 that. He’s the one that said that his coaches and team is directly why he’s as good as he is on the field.

No, but he played a very important role as the leader of the offense.

That’s better.

I think it’s funny that you actually think he only “might” be better. It’s easy to compare, man. Roethlisberger is an elite quarterback. Don’t tell me it’s hard to compare to players that play the same position in the same sport. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Gradkowski isn’t in his league.

I'll admit that Ben is better RIGHT NOW.
But Im the kinda fan that has to like the players attitude and off field activities as well as his on field perfomance.
Given time, I believe that Bruce can reach Bens sucess. He just needs the tools around him
Phillip Rivers Is A Fag.
Given time, I believe that Bruce can reach Bens sucess.
That’s highly doubtful. Gradkowski will once be fifth in the league in quarterback rating and passing yards while being seventh in completion percentage? He’s also going to win the Super Bowl twice? His career passer rating will be 91.7 and he’ll convert on 63 percent of his completions? By comparison, Gradkowski’s passer rating is 25.8 points lower and his completion percentage is 10 whole percentage points lower.
You’ve already said it yourself that you’re biased against Roethlisberger because of his attitude and off-field issues.

Our D can keep us in the game?
Not when they give up 300 yards rushing like they did against the Jets. The D is simply not as bad as the O, but still far from good.
You're "krazy"

+1
but in regards to booger (apologies to the guy from revenge of the nerds) I will say that his team did carry him. If that wasn’t the case they would have been in the playoffs last year. He is mediocre at best. WE beat them last year with Bruce at the helm. They imploded without Polamalu and that is the time when the great QBs step up.

He is mediocre at best.
Yeah, mediocre quarterbacks usually complete 67 percent of their passes while throwing for 4,300 yards. Yeah, he had a pretty damn good supporting cast. That doesn’t take away from him being a great player, though. When will you people get that through your heads?
WE beat them last year with Bruce at the helm.
Yeah, so we’re better than the Bengals, Steelers, Eagles and Broncos? For one day, we were; however, that’s obviously not the case over the course of a season. Gradkowski’s team defeating Roethlisberger’s team doesn’t mean he is better. I don’t know why you bother to spew that garbage.
Seriously, I question some people’s NFL IQ when they can’t comprehend the fact that mediocre players don’t achieve that kind of success (4,300 yards and 67 percent completion percentage) in their personal statistics.
Also, blaming a quarterback for not stepping up when a safety gets hurt is pretty damn stupid. Seriously, it’s Roethlisberger’s fault for how the defense played? The defense gave up 23.8 points per game in their final seven games and yet you say this:
They imploded without Polamalu and that is the time when the great QBs step up.
Yet, the Steelers went 3-0 in their final three games with Roethlisberger throwing for an average of 327 yards per game. Damn, he so didn’t step up.

Give him our receivers and see how he does
and add in the fact that his line is much better than ours. Yes I get that he is a good QB, I will give you that. The team did however fall apart at a critical time when they were still in the thick of things. I give you credit for mentioning they went 3-0 in the last 3 games. The great Polamalu went down before that. Indy had major defensive issues and a no-name receiving corps outside of Wayne, and somehow they got to the Superbowl. Bennie couldn’t get his team to the playoffs. I’m stating facts here. I’d like to see how he does outside Pitt.

Roethlisberger has won the Super Bowl twice, he can’t get his team to the playoffs for once and now you backtrack on calling him mediocre? He’s good now?

“We should send him to Oakland”- Haters (some panicky steeler fans) We should not satisfy the Haters fuck ben, they should keep his dumb ass. Good QB at best, no doubt. But has issues, no doubt.

I think Pitts defense was a MAJOR part of his success.
by patriotguy2 on Apr 16, 2010 12:09 PM PDT up reply actions
It was also largely Pittsburgh’s downfall this past season. As I pointed out somewhere above in this post, they gave up an average of 23.8 points per game in their final seven games. I can’t believe some people actually want to pin it on Roethlisberger.

totally agree there weakness is the secondary
by sports with steve on Apr 16, 2010 11:52 PM PDT up reply actions
I'd say it was more Palomalu then their entire secondary.
don’t forget that they had an excellent front seven, but Foote left them and the rest of their guys are now old.
But Palomalu was the cog of their defense, as he was excellent vs. the running and passing game, and gave the defense an extreme amount of plays.
If we were fortunate to have Big Ben come to us it would be a welcome edition.
He’s only 27, last year despite he missed a couple of games, he still passed for over 4000 yards & I believe had 28-30 tds. Their defense when Polamalu was out was below average & their running game had no identity. I think a 1st rounder is worth it for a stud QB.
