Draft Polls!

PrintLet the Nation be heard! The draft is almost here. We have seen various mock drafts and I think everyone here has expressed their thoughts and opinions, but I thought we could get them in two sets of tidy little bar graphs and comment sections.
We will have one poll for who we think the Raiders should draft and a second for whom we think they will draft. Make no mistake; these are likely to be two vastly different answers.
I plan on sending the results of the poll to Al, via Western Union Telegram, so he can promptly wipe his ass with them.

I have to admit...
I voted for Trent Williams, but I am skeptical that he will still be around.

I just made an analysis on Trent Williams vs. Mike Iupati
since those two seem to be the most popular. I may have to pick Trent Williams only because I don’t think we’ll trade down, but Iupati is the better run blocker, and Williams is the better pass blocker. Imo.

but I’m starting to think that Dan Williams might be a good pick too.
p.s. just saw Kyle Boller was picked up, not sure what to think other than he’s slightly better than Russell, but that’s not really a positive.

I like the Dan Williams idea, too.
He wouldn’t be much help in passing, but he is a great run stuffer and this team needs that as much as anything.

MJD is a fucking douche-shnozle.
I picked Dan Williams like usual since we need a true NT & not a sometimes DE or sometimes DT (Seymour) or a guy who’s only highlight is dropping trow in Mile High. We need a guy that is a space-eater for a team that is run on with ease by the likes of Jamar Charles or Kolby Smith for the past 7+ years.

I would happily stab an orphan for Clausen to drop to us at 8, just the fact he has a work ethic and watches film makes me giddy like a schoolgirl, I cant stomach another year watching Russell struggle to read half the field.

The Oakland Raiders SHOULD draft Mike Iupati.
But Oakland WILL draft Bruce Campbell or Jimmy Clausen.

This is crazy how everyone wants Clausen now.
I think he’s a good college QB but the fact he didn’t stay for another year to develop his game makes me think he is too raw & just came out early to avoid injury & cuz he knew he was a 1st rd pick.
I have been saying....
Clausen since it seemed he may drop to us at 8. He is the most NFL ready QB in the draft, he has amazing work ethic and his demeanor screams Silver and Black! Draft Clausen, cut Russell and eat his 3 Mill and let Gradkowski be the starter this year from day 1 and Tutor the kid.

Clasuen is very arrogant, thats something thats been said about him for quite some time now.
And being arrogant is a popular characteristic of douches. When your think you alot better than you really are, and go around acting like your hot shit, your most likely gonna end up labeled as a douche.

I believe you and I have had this convo in the past.
I think it was about, If Phillip Rivers came to Oakland, played great, yet down talked the Org. and his own team. I said no because I cant stand anyone who talks smack on my team.
But, If Jimmy Clausen was drafted by Oakland, and I can actually see that he wants to be here, then I may budge. But if he holds out, complains and bitches. Then I shall drink myself into a deep slumber knowing that Al has picked another JR type of guy.

Clausen was sulking and acting arrogant, like he didn’t want to hear it cause there’s no way anyone would tell him no. So let the Raiders be the first (technically the 8th) people to tell him no.

This was a great motivational speech by Gruden
and I don’t think Clausen was sulking and acting arrogant at all. By the end of the interview, he was pumped – Gruden is a master.

Have you seen Tim Tebows QB Camp with Gruden?
He speaks to John like a man, he looks him in the eye and gives him straight honest answers. Jimmy did what every teenager does when he’s being drilled. Just gives answers like “Yeah” “Uh-Huh”. That video showed me alot, and Im back to my original side of being against drafting Jimmy Clausen.

True, Clausen has weird eyes. As to Tebow’s eye contact – read Joe Navarro’s “What Every Body Is Saying.” An eye opener for anyone who thinks eye contact is a sign of sincerity. It’s a pretty interesting book, btw.

No to Clausen. Should be a tackle like Williams if he's there
since I don’t think he will be, I voted Iupati. He’s one of the few worth a first rounder, imo.
I wouldn’t hate Haden. He’s definitely the best corner out there, and has done nothing but increase his value. I’d love the Asomugha Haden sandwich, especially if you put a huge slice of meat at the DT position, a true NT like Dan Williams. I’d take Cam Thomas or Linval Joseph in the second or third.

we should draft Clausen as I do not feel comfortable going in to this season with all my hopes riding on Radkowski’s knees and JaMarcus’s gut. We dont have a round 1 pick next year so picking a top line QB is not possible if Radkowski really IS bruce almighty we can trade Clausen for a number one next season.
We should take Clausen and the either trade up from round 2 and take Iupati or Campbell or take Rodger Saffold who seems to be just a shade behind the tier 1 OT’s

funny thing is I couldn’t find it anywhere else yet. I know Al’s not sold on Gradkowski, but heard reports that if the season were to start today, Bruce would’ve been the guy. Watch the interview on Behind the Shield:online:
Cable pretty much says we won’t be looking at too many of the qbs in this class early, if at all. Definitely notes the trenches are priority, and even mentioned the MLB position and even the “backfield,” and emphasized taking 8 players that will help this team.
I think we’ll definitely see a center and a guard taken, and the guard might be Iupati. I don’t hate Clausen, but believe he’s not the right guy for us, nor is any of this year’s early picks. I’d take my chances on Lefevour, or Skelton, or Kafka, but only with our fifth pick or later.

We'd have to trade for a first round pick in next years draft to
have a shot at Locker. he would have been a 1st rounder this year, if he’d come out.
I don’t know about deeper as I think it’s too early to tell, but four quarterbacks could go in the first round next year. It appears as if we’re only going to get half that this year.
