I have a feeling...
the Raiders might draft Dan Williams… they need a DT and we dont have many on Roster so i think they’re thinking of maybe Dan Williams…
If they do, they'll need to get either Vlad Ducassee or
Rodger Saffold in the second.
I think I stiil prefer the Iupati in the 1st and Linval Joseph in the 2nd. scenario though.
But this would be my second choice.
Followed by a MLB, Spikes or Angerer or Chaney ect.
Golden Tate will be our number eight
Tate is 8
8 will be Tate
I can’t wait
for Mr. Tate.

Don't you think there is a good chance he will be around in round 2?

sorry
But it really doesn’t matter if he’d be there in the second, Al will take him at 8 if thats who he wants =0)

True, but...
I am curious…isn’t it generally felt that Tate will be available at the Raiders 2nd pick.

Bottom of the 1st top of the 2nd is where Walters and SidelineScouting has him haven't checked the others - but if
Al wants him, of course, the projections don’t mean much.

It's the soundtrack to my childhood :)
(some would argue it’s a childhood that is yet to end)

Cut
Then who gets cut, Higgins or Holland?
by Mallard Davis on Apr 15, 2010 8:15 PM PDT up reply actions
Higgins
shies away from contact leading to a lack of trust with whoever the QB is

Yeah, but Holland shies away from the ball.

Touche
Frankly I’d rather grab Iupati, but if we get Tate we should grab a late round receiver like a Trindon Holliday in the 7th.

Trent Williams
Both votes. I am thinking the Raiders will surprise everyone and make a sane pick this year.
Refuse to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death
Well, I believe the Raiders need to draft a Left Tackle while there are several good players to select from.
It is important to offer some blocking for our QB…Adding Kyle Boller brings another piece of puzzle, hopefully he will compete and play well. We need a DT, however, if we don’t protect our QB it will be tough for us to win in the future. Bruce Campbell, if coached properly has such and awesome upside Al may just draft him, Al is always making his picks like that….Next week the truth will be told..

everyone says Campbell
the only reason I see us takin him is he’s from a ZBS. I think Al suprises everyone by not taking Campbell or Mays. A classic double move by him. He takes Iupati thanks to some advice from Cable, which will suprise everyone with a functional brain. Just my thoughts

God I hope your right
Cable is in love with Iupati, that’s for sure. Will Al listen to him???
Everyone said Campbell because he has Als height, weight, speed thing going for him.
Plus he has the Greek god body Al loves too.
Campbell is a workout warrior.
But what has he done otherwise? Seriously, tell me. He is a gamble we cannot afford to take.
Yes, but this is who we "think" the Raiders, in their infinte wisdom, will take
we couldn’t afford to take DHB last year or JaFatass 3 years ago but we did.
Good point
I get pretty worked up when it comes to Campbell and any support thereof (I mean, what upside does he really show besides being a workoput warrior?) because my greatest fear is that we take him. The DHB pick last year made me swear off watching the draft forever. But of course, I’m going back on that promise and will be watching while my wife continually asks me why I really need to curse that much.
I hear ya!
my voice is just now recovering from last years draft. I’m thinking of watching the draft somewhere else to avoid the wife/swearing issue, at least for the 1st pick.
I
maybe a billboard that say's "Al, do the right thing, draft Bruce Campbell."
Then Al, knowing that we believe we understand him and that we are using double reverse psychology (and not infantile reverse psychology) will conclude that we really want Campbell. And so, despising us and being perverse Al will reject Campbell b/c Al does not expect triple-reverse psychology (he underestimates us – and that’s his greatest weakness).
Note: if that same “GM billboard” had used the triple-reverse on Al, i.e. “Al, do the right thing, stay the GM – we will brook no other but you.” we might have had Bruce Allen back.

My draft results:
1. Brian Bulaga(yes he slipped to us)
2. Linval Joeseph.
I’d like a grade please, but I’m sure what you guys will give me. ;)
I prefer Iupati to Bulaga and no he doesn't slip to us anyway, but even if he does...
1. Mario Henderson is OK at left tackle as long as Gallery is next to him.The right side was terrible, but with Cornhole Green gone and Langston Walker in @RT we just replace Cooper with Iupati and we’re ready to role. Instead of revamping the whole O Line and moving Mario to RT, we bring in a guy who is already an NFL caliber RG and leave everyone else in positions they already play and are comfortable in..
2. In Linval we Trust
I watched Cables press conference and
Jerry Mac and Corkeran were asking questions and kind of wrangling Cable into an actual answer about the 1st pick.
He didn’t give an exact answer but he did say some interesting things.
1. O Line is first priority,
2. They want a guy who can start right away,
3. They won’t trade forward but might trade back,
4. They’ve received offers for the 8 pick and if the right deal came by they’ll go for it,
5. The guy doesn’t have to be a tackle, he could be an interior guy.
Am I nuts for thinking it sounds like my favorite pick Mike Iupati. Might he be the guy the Raiders are interested in for the 1st pick.
It could be that Cable is just blowing smoke, but I’m hoping for a little sanity for once.
OPINIONS???

On raiders.com
I think it’s the 3rd tab now. Cable always impresses me when he speaks

Heard and watched and I'll tell you it raised my expectations considerably. Cable sounded more confident
and though continuing his art of not saying too much (which must please Al immensely) he did reveal quit a bit. We are going to draft the OL and CB as well as MLB. This much was clear. Whether the OL help is coming through OT, G, or C was not so clear. CB definitely – it was the first thing he mentioned “help in the secondary” … that has to mean one thing – LCB. Whether or not we take a DT wasn’t clear b/c he praised Desmond Bryant (and Shaughnessy and Wimbley – which was somewhat outside the question of D-interior and MLB). Thanks OZ.
