Star-divide

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent quarterback Kyle Boller.

The team announced the deal with the former first-round pick for Baltimore on Thursday. Boller will be added to the quarterback mix with former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell, Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye.

Boller never lived up to the billing after being drafted 19th overall by Baltimore in 2003. The former Cal star has made 46 starts in his career, throwing 50 interceptions and only 48 touchdown passes. His career passer rating is 70.6.

Boller spent one year in Baltimore with new Raiders offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. But he did not play in the 2008 season because of a shoulder injury.

Boller played in seven games last season for St. Louis

This post pisses me off.

I don’t like Russell but he has major skills I say let him compete with Bruce and the best man wins. Most likely both will start a few games because of our Oline being so bad and some of u people think we should pick Mays or mcclain anyway which won’t help us at all.

You need four arms in camp. It does not mean squat.

I'd rather try out Losman before Boller

Boller has been one of the most disappointing busts at QB ever since he was drafted. Boller is taking reps away from our other guys and it’s pointless considering how terrible he is. Cut Russell and Boller, trade our first round pick for Roethlisberger, and we’ll have a solid QB core with Big Ben, Gradkowski, and Frye. Then dedicate the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round to getting an OT, a DT, and a MLB.

Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders til' I die.

Yep

That’s what I was thinking. Losman could end up being better than all of our guys.

They are just throwing QBs at the wall to see who might stick

Also Grad pulled a peck muscle yesterday lifting weights, hell have surgery today. He is expected to be ready for preseason.

not sure he will be ready

The post-surgery recovery for torn pecs is much longer than the 4 weeks reported initially. The ray of hope comes from the report that he tore his left pec, not the right.

we signed him for depth

we clearly are trying to get Cal fans to show up to home games. Please show up all of you so I can watch these games in the NW. I can’t authentically tell if you guys are right about the team.

tatum, davidson, romanowski, wisniewski...LET'S GET NASTIER!!!!

More wide open now

Bruce blew/tore his pec. Whatever the media hears, whatever the Raiders say tearing your pec muscle is not fun and you really dont recover that well and fast especially if it requires surgery. It will affect his throwing no matter his arm will be weaker.

Thanks, Dr. LyleAlzadoPunch

Does it matter that his torn pec is the left one (the non-throwing arm)?

by Spirals galore on Apr 17, 2010 9:55 PM PDT up reply actions

Yes

The shoulder gurdle is balanced and the rotation will twist with throwing on follow through just obviously not as much as if it was his right. He will hold his left tighter and make it harder to relax when letting go of the ball.
