Two new Tackles. One Offense and one Defense.
Lamarr Houston DT 6'3" 305 pounds Texas.
We picked him with our 2nd Rd pick. With Taylor Mays still on the board i don't think this was an Al davis pick. I'm sure he gave the ok but it wasn't his idea. I think.
Lamarr Houston is an outstanding pick for the franchise. The hulking interior defender is an exceptional athlete with outstanding strength and power. He is capable of stacking blockers at the point of attack, but also possesses the quickness to play as an up-field penetrator. Given the Raiders' woes on defense, the addition of Houston will undoubtedly shore up some of the problems inside.-NFL.com
An interesting player with an interesting career, he was a 100-meter sprinter in high school and has kept much of his athleticism after bulking up to over 300 pounds. He’s a great worker who’s always going full-tilt and he can play anywhere in any scheme. The down side is his résumé, which was fine, but nothing amazing from a decent Texas career. Not as slippery and not as creative a pass rusher as he needs to be, once he’s blocked he stays blocked. He’ll be at his best playing as a one-gap playmaker whose job is get into the backfield and provide pressure.-foxsports.com
Jared Veldheer OT 6'8" 312 Pounds Hillsdale
This was a Tom/Hue pick. I'm not sure about anything on him. Is he a RT or LT? Can he play guard?
Small-school standout Jared Veldheer to compete for time at offensive tackle. Though he dominated inferior competition in college, his impressive performance in pre-draft workouts showcased his immense potential as a pro.-NFL.com
If anybody has any info a Veldheer please share.
I think We should still get Campbell tomarrow in the 4th. Then get 3 Corners with both 5ths and the Morrison pick. 6th QB. 7th HB/FB. What do you guys think?
