UDRFA DE Alex Daniels Signs With The Oakland Raiders:

Stay connected for news and updates

This is a great pick-up. Alex Daniels has a chance to make the 53 man squad and looks like a certainty to make the Practice Squad.

From CBS:

03/16/2010 - PRO DAY RESULTS: Among the 14 players that worked out for the 26 team representatives in attendance (including coaches from Carolina and Cincinnati), the following were the most noteworthy: DE Alex Daniels (6-2 1/4, 265) ran 4.73 in the 40, had a 36 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 10-9 broad jump, a 4.51 short shuttle, a 7.09 three-cone drill and did 31 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

Daniels is a bit undersized at 6-2 265, but nobody will question his natural ability.

He found his way back into football after being dismissed from Minnesota and his story speaks of incredible drive and strength. Read it HERE.

He had an incredible Senior year at Cincinnati, recording 8 sacks and 46 tackles out of the DT position. He had 4 sacks in one game against Miami (OH) and recorded two in the Sugar Bowl against Florida. He was definitely in the top tier of players left after the 7th Round and if it weren't for character question marks, he could have been a Top 100 pick or better.

Nice pick-up.
