Legarrette Blount
Is it just me or after watching a few of this guys highlights link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il-18rW2muM&feature=fvst. I think that we should take a gamble on him in the 5th or 6th round. And yes he will drop that far down considering the punch and overall off feild issues. But Al never really cared about off the field issues as long as the talent was good enough.
Also with the loss of Justin Fargas we need a 3rd option at running back in case of injury, fatigue, etc. He reminds me of Michael Bush but faster. The only con I see from his highlights are the he has very skinny legs so injury seems like a big risk. And if you notice he runs very high which doesnt let him achieve full speed or power. But none the less he`s a good runner so I think we should take a look at him as a late round option. Please tell me what you think in the poll below thanks.

We don’t need him at all. This would be a monumental waste of a pick.

It depends on how the draft goes
Only if we felt as though we filled our needs at guard, center, DT, MLB and CB
We all love the Warriors..
We all hate Cohan as an owner of this franchise…
that trash comes with baggage
i will pass

Isnt he the HB that punched the Boise State fan?
Well, Id have to say no. But if we didnt have Bush, Id say yes.
In Bruce We Trust
We can get Blount very late or in undrafted FA we should move on him - he's a tough ballcarrier & good backup
did you even
watch that game? Blount is a thug, just like the rest of this fabulous Ducks team.

Oregon
I wouldn’t call them thugs, but they do have quite a few troublemakers on their football team.

Saw him at the combine, He looked good
if he was available in the late rounds it might be worth a shot
I'm not down on him for punching the Idaho puke. The guy shoved him and insulted him (after Oregon lost the game)

Asshole.

Elementary, from your writing and lack of self-control you come from the lower class. I notice also you're a Hokies fan.
West Virginia and Idaho also weigh into the assessment.

Hokies are Virginia
Oh well researched one. You, sir, are the one who made an inflammatory remark. I do find it interesting how you seem to have this amazing ability to assess what my tax bracket is based upon my telling you to fuck off.
Oh, I wonder, did you see the score of that game between Boise State and Oregon? Blount was owned for the whole game, therefore he was angry and talking smack(Raiders don’t need somebody from, as you say, that class of people), Byron Hout called him on it. Blount even went so far as to attack a fan. He seems like a real class act to me.
By the way, you didn’t answer the fucking question.

I wish. I also wish we'd bring this Mel Blount 2 into the organization. He would be honored for
such deeds in Oakland putting the rif raff in its place. This fool compounds his self mockery with everything he writes and confirms his ignoble birth.

Late round, maybe. Free agent, HELL YEAH.!!!
I like this idea because he is a late round pick because of his off the field issues not his talent. I think he’d be a great pick up in the later rounds. he could be a great 3rd option and might even do better than Bush eventually.?
Not a distraction at all. Just needs a venue where a man is appreciated for not taking shit (in Oregon they put aggresive
boys on riddeline and try to make zombies or sissies of them).

hmmm.
well if he does turn to be a big distraction we cut him… he would be a late round pick so it wont hurt..
Well
Oakland can’t be wasting picks right now, especially the late ones. Notice how many talented players have been drafted in the later rounds by Oakland. For example, Louis Murphy, Bush, etc.
i understand.
but im not talking 4th, nooo thats too valuable… im talking if he’s availiable in the 6th and 7th.
yeah tell him his own life story
he’d talk to him how hitting people, in cable’s situation women, will catch up and possibly make you lose your job…
I will say that was a great punch.. knocked his fatass out.! maybe he has a career in boxing.? haha
Dez Bryant
has distraction and trouble written all over him. I hope we dodge that bullet. At least his 40 time sucked, that might save us. Old Al loves that stopwatch!
"We can't stop here... This is bat country."
We need a third RB
and the free agents out there are crap, so we will need to address it in the draft. I don’t know enough about the guy to pass judgment, but if he has the skills and we can get him with a late pick, then why the hell not.
"We can't stop here... This is bat country."
Running Backs
We do need a third one, yeah, but we can sign one that doesn’t get drafted. I don’t think a backup to a backup necessarily needs to be addressed through the draft.

Why?
Is it because third-string running backs are so valuable and needed?

Rose Bowl
I guess nobody saw the Rose Bowl where Blount fumbled through the end zone and ended the Ducks come back in that game. We don’t need another fumbler. The Duck we should have got was Jonathon Stewart a couple of years ago instead of Run DMC.

Not to mention
the Boise State game where the Broncos D owned him all game long.

I think that was the only two games he played last year
right?

Not really sold on the guy...
The problem with highlights is that they are JUST that, highlights. In one of the articles it said he had a game with 8 carries for negative five yeards. Despite highlights that is very useful information in deciding to take the guy or not.
In regards to the punch though, that guy deserved it. I would have done the same.
Cable Bumaye! Raiders Bumaye!
No
He has skinny legs so can he hack getting 20+ carries a game with the likely scenario of both Bush & McFadden getting hurt. Most good RBs ala Terrell Davis or Emmit Smith have a strong lower body thus he doesn’t look like a good fit. After the Boise State game & his reaction to the crowd I wouldn’t want him anywhere near this team. There is plenty of talent in the free agent pool after the draft. Louis Rankin was a contributor for the Seahawks after SkALator let him go.
Late Round Pick
If we can get him with one of our 5th round or later picks I say he’s definitely worth it. He did make the dumb mistake of punching the guy from Boise but he has learned from it. He would have been probably a second-third round pick if he we would have played this past season. A third running back for our team would be a good idea. That way we can split McFadden out and have some one to come in for Bush when he’s tired.

6 or 7 round
if he’s the best player available at 6 or 7, take him. If he’s got it like that, size & speed, why not? He sucker punched a player after losing, I hate to sound cavalier, but we actually need some of that attitude. This team is ok with losing and not enough players get upset. Bring the kid in, it will make an interesting training camp.
theres plenty of rbs and fbs in this draft maybe 6th/7th round

No FB is projected in this draft before the 6th round - there may be 3 good FBs in the entire pool
by Sons-of-Blanda on Apr 6, 2010 6:06 AM PDT up reply actions
Why? We have a 2 TE's and 2 HB's. Everyone one of em are good.
But who do we have at FB??
In Bruce We Trust
Undrafted free agents
There will be a few gems available at the FB position. May I suggest Ritchie Brockel?
Refuse to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death
could you convert blount?
or another stocky RB with hands who can block? I think we’re set at TE, we could use another RB for insurance, and definitely a FB. Russel doesn’t look right returning kicks, I don’t care how well he does in the pre-season.

If Blount was owned
like that by a WAC defense, imagine his surprise when he plays San Diego.
Refuse to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death
We can still get a good deal for Vikings' FB Naufahu Tahi. We should sign him today.
The only better FB whose still available is Le’ron McClain – but Baltimore wants a 1st round pick for him – out of the question.
I think that this
would be a good deal.
