SFGate: Robert Gallery update
All indications lead to left guard Robert Gallery rehabbing well after offseason surgery to fuse vertebra, widen the spinal canal and clean out calcium deposits.

Is anyone else worried that health is always going to be a concern with Gallery?

Yes
my concern with Gallery is that even though he excells as a guard, he just doesn’t have the body to last playing inside the line. Each year he’s played guard he’s had injury issues, hope I’m proven wrong this year and going forward.
"We have to win eight. I'll be crushed if we don't win eight." CRN...Eat it BN, lol
This is the "year of the Guard" and with the ailing Gallery and hapless Carlisle we need to capitalize
It’s unbelievably rich with Iupati, Asamoah, Petrus, Beadles, Johnson, Jerry and Ducasse – Saffold, mean Shawn Lauvao and Chris Scott, and Doug Palmer is mean too, not to mention Brandon Carter. Damn, we need two Guards and better get at least one in this draft or hell’s to pay.

I am really hoping for at least 3 offensive lineman to be drafted.

Absolutely. The guy is a bust technically but not in the same stratosphere as JaMegaBusto.

He's not a bust.
He’s a solid starter who has served our team well. If he was drafted at Gaurd, people may not be saying he’s a bust. He has another 2-3 good years left in him. If we draft 2 guards this year,(Iupati and Carter). Then eventually Iupati can replace him and Carter will be fine tuned and can start at RG without any questions

Agree to disagree
If you look at the expectations and the salary given to him he is a big disappointment. He also isnt able to stay healthy. I will tell you right now a bone fusion of the fibula is bad news especially when you look at the mechanics and anatomy of a man his size. He will crumble further physically and continue on the slide. He is not a Pro Bowler at G nor even a top 10 in the league. So I rate him a bust.

Gallery is good when he's healthy but he's consistently injured - good reason to take Iupati in the 1st round
- if we don’t go for DT which we desperately need. If we take Iupati, why stop there with this Guard-heavy draft? Petrus, Scott, or Carter are there in the 4th 5th and 6th rounds respectively.

Good
Gradkowski ain’t gonna hold up long if Gallery can’t stay healthy. The rest of the oline sucks something fierce. Only good thing about is if Russell is forced into the line-up, we get to see him get the piss kicked out of him.
Gallery`s Back
The type of injury that Gallery sistained to his lower back unfortunately is a death nail for his position. Hate to say it but its true, its damn true.
