Dave Dalby is overlooked?
Dave Dalby was the greatest , one of the Raiders legend iron-men, 13 yrs, never missed a game, as Otto,
Why is he so forgotten? He paid the price to be a Raider , where's the appreciation?
there aren't many if any like him anymore! I feel he was abandoned by the Raiders after he gave all.
Why, what happened to make this man forgotten?
I feel ashamed for how he was treated and what happened after the games were over for him.

He was the starting Center in all 3 of our Championships
But what makes you think he was abused?
S-O-B: ITS HOW I ROLL, DEAL WITH IT.
Dalbys tragic death was not worthy of the superstar
he never should have had to need $ for medical care after all he sacrificed, his suicide was the result of numerous concussions and the abandonement of thisgreat man / athlete and friend.
Jim Otto's legacy and unfortunately the more recent history regarding Barret Robbins' Super Bowl weekend bypolar flip out do cause many of us to over look Dalby's contributions to the Raiders.
The same can be said for how great a coach Tom Flores was considering he was 2-0 in the Super Bowl and Madden who while an icon was 1-1 as a coach.
If my mother put on a helmet and shoulder pads and a uniform that wasn't the same as the one I was wearing, I'd run over her if she was in my way. And I love my mother.

Madden was 1-0 in Super Bowls
Sorry TAW but Madden was an assistant on the Super Bowl staff that lost to Green Bay in Miami in 1968. John Ralston was the head coach then. Tom Flores is NEVER overlooked by Raider fans, but has been RIDICULOUSLY over looked by Canton.
He and Jimmy Johnson of Dallas, are the only two coaches to have coached two Super Bowl winning teams and not been inducted into the Hall of Fame yet. If Johnson gets in, before Tom, I believe that an investigation should be launched.
Lets face it…. Johnson never coached a team with as many ups and downs to over come as Flores did in 1980, when he guided the Raiders from a terrible 2-3 start to the Super Bowl title . Now thats coaching !!!

I never said head coach but he was on the staff in the loss to GB.

By those who matter, he is not, nor ever will be forgotten.
Overlooked by the ignorant, perhaps. Revered by those who had the honor of knowing him or seeing him play. The concussion thing is tragic, and perhaps lends credence to some late developments on their effects on players’ emotional stability.

Dave Dalby is gone but never forgotten.
As a Raider fan who is old enough to remember the end of Otto’s career and the beginning of Dalby’s, I can say that he may have not gotten the accolades that some would have liked, but that might be because he played right after a legend like Otto and on the same line with two more Hall of Fame members , Art Shell and Gene Upshaw. But when it comes to old school raider fans (born before 1975) and the players of that era, I have to say that he will always occupy a special place in our memories.
