Hey everybody, this is Fooch from Niners Nation. We're fast approaching the annual preseason tilt between our teams. This year's is particularly interesting because the two teams will face off week 6 of the regular season. Although we'll see extended play from the starters on Saturday, I'd imagine both offenses and defenses will keep things relatively vanilla.

The 49ers are favored to win the NFC West this year and have plenty of intriguing storylines this preseason. Arguably the most important storyline is a non-story: the 49ers don't have a QB battle going on for the first time since 2007. They added young offensive line talent in the draft and they've got as many offensive weapons as they've had since TO was in town.

The defense continues to be a strength and will provide your offense with a stiff challenge, which is really what you want to see in the preseason.
