So what is this season going to be like for us?
I really want to hear from some of you how you think this season is going to go? 4-12? 8-8? 10+ wins? and why do you think so? I'm stuck in the Pacific Northwest with a bunch of Seattle fans and I miss being in the bay. GIve me some insights from those that are getting some good views of training camp and local news. I can't wait for the seaon to start so I can get the 20 or so guys up here on a plane headed to a game!

Well..
We will go 8-8. Maybe 7-9… and that’s it. But we will break out of the slump of losing 10 games and/or up.
Our D is Above average/Average, we will be above average more times than not.
Our Offense is Below average/Average, we will be below average more times than not. It will be up to Campbell on how good we do.
We need more legit weapons and more stability/chemistry for Campbell and his revievers and O-line, in order for us to be above average on offense.
If Campbell adjusts quickly and this team gels to the max with him then we may go to the playoffs.

i can def see 7-9 im expecting that at the least
As far as division placing this team is going no less than second and no higher than second:
CHARGERS are still chargers they have it all going on as a team, although they’re flaws are big ones they still have a alot of fire power on both sides of the ball, the rest of the guys,
BRONCOS have no offensive weapons, no B. Marshall or Cutler means no pass game, i still respect their defensive game and it did get better with big jamaal at DT, but with no dumervile the defense doesnt look as scary
CHIEFS flwed all around, coaching staff refuse to start their only proven and best offensive player over Thomas and the defense still looks the same to me, in all this team hasnt gotten too much better

on denver
we have some off weapons j Gaffney is a top 20 wr royal is improve decker will be good and Orton might trow for 3’000 yards 26 td’s 15 picks they are not dead yet buddy

i cant agree to that, orton a 3,000 yard passer? idk im skeptical to believe that when a qb was drafted in the first round and a another starting qb was traded in, royal is one dimensional player who is fit for the return game, and gaffney is not a top 20 wr

very solid why Orton is a 3’000 yard passer we throw 70 precert of the time and he had like 2’700 yards last year if we stink then u are right becuase tebow will play 2 point royal will be a slot guy and gaf will get the ball as a 1 opiton

j-man...
Moss, Fitzgerald, TO, Chad, Boldin, Colston, Steve Smith, Miles Austin, Roy Williams, Vincent Jackson, Calvin Johnson, TJ Housh, Marshall, etc, there are many more that are way way better than Gaffney.
*
Gaffney is not a top 20 WR. Look at his stats, nothing spectacular, he averages 2 TD’s a season, lol. Our guy Louis Murphy got 4 TD’s last year, Jaffney’s carrer best was 5 TD’s, Both have similar yardage, but they are not even close to top 20, more like top 50.
The RaiderLaker
I don't have a problem with being optimistic, but when I went to MHR they are so high, that it's sad.
You guys are not better than last year, Marshall is the top 20 WR not Gaffney, I don’t know what they have been saying to you over at MHR but they are not thinking realistically. Losing “Doom”, and Marshall will make you guys lose games. You will have a worse record tha last year because of what happened to Marshall and “Doom”.
Plus Clady too, maybe he’ll play 80% to 90% the whole season. Hence, he will be rusty and will give up sacks.

i agree to a point u cant replace marsh with 1 guy but he did not want to be in denver i think after cutler left in NE they won big games without a number 1 wr in ne DOOM is a HUGE loss that will hurt us bad mabye he can regain his from in 2011

yeah but...
you guys had marshall last year a probowl rec. broke single game rec with most reception in a game i forget how many it was, i want to say 22? but yeah without him there isnt too much to look for in the Broncos offense.

Here goes
Games we should win:
St. Louis
Arizona
Denver x 2
Seattle
Kansas City x 2
Pittsburgh
Jacksonville
Total = 9
Games that are up for grabs
Tennessee
Houston
San Francisco
Miami
Indianapolis
San Diego x 2
Total = 7
If we took out the Titans and Dolphins we’d end up 11-5. But, I it’s likely we’ll split with StD and lose to either Tenn or the Fins – so I’ll say 11-5 and to be conservative (taking injuries into account and the Raider syndrome of getting cocky – I’ll say definitely that we end the 2010 season with a 9-7 record.
S-O-B: ITS HOW I ROLL, DEAL WITH IT.
Tenn looks awfully good to me.
That is going to be tough opener. I’ll be dancing in the streets with optimism shining out all orifices if they win that one.
Saying what should happen in AFC West games often holds little bearing on their outcomes. Also, Pitt in the should section? You are feeling bold sir!

that's how, j-man ... we'll be playing up to your team. But you should know that the days of complacency - winning every
other game at best are over, imo, with the advent of personalities like Hugh Jackson, Mike Waffle, LaMarr Houston, Rolando McClain, and Cable version 2.

if denver started 0-6 who knows i am hopeing we are both 4-2 kc too someone needs to beat SD this year

I dont know about beating Denver twice
also, Pitt is gonna be up for the game against them, since we beat them last year…..of course there will be upsets also, both in wins and losses….however I do like 8-8 for the Silver and Black…..HOPEFULLY better….
7-9
but im definitely being pessimistic. we should at least split with everyone in our division so that starts us out 3-3,
i dont expect to win in tennessee, 3-4,
STL ARI and SEA shouldnt give us too much trouble, 6-4
, but jacksonville, houston and san francisco should give us troubles (could go either way with jacksonville though) so im split btwn 7-5 or 6-7,
that leaves pittsburg miami and indy. i think pittsburg has enough fire to take revenge on us for last year and i really dont see us competing with indy, but we can definitely take on miami.
7-9
Do you have a vested interest, like I do,
on the Raiders finishing with a better record than the Seachickens? Mine carried over from last year, which means all bets are doubled.
Hey you guys!
Vested yes
Yeah well mine are doubled plus the SD games are a standing bet with a few Charger fans I work with.

8-8/9-7
Offensive Pro Bowlers – Zach Miller and Michael Bush
Defensive Pro Bowlers – Tyvon Branch, Nnamdi Asomugha(8+ Ints), Trevor Scott and LaMarr Houston(Defensive Rookie Of The Year).
Special Teams – Jacoby Ford(Shit ton of Kick and Punt return yards and TD’s) and Shane Lechler(Duh)
A LOT of pressure is on Jason Campbell. He needs to perform and really lead this team.
True knowledge consists in knowing that you know nothing
7-9/8-8 maybe
Jake if we have all of those guys make the pro bowl that you mentioned and Nnamdi has 8 picks this year this team will win the division. At least 12-4 but wishful thinking is putting it mildly.

10-6
I think we could win the division, it only takes 6 wins for that. The problem being that we have not beaten SD for freakin ever, and we will HAVE to sweep SD to win the division. My logic here is that we can both sweep KC/DEN, but if we split w/ SD, they will likely win the division with a better overall record. 10-6 and 2nd in the west MIGHT get a wild card spot, depends how shitty everyone else is. I think it is conceivable that both AFC WC teams come from the AFC-East.
Honestly, I would be pleased with 8-8 or better, 7-9 is the worst I can/will accept and still consider it a sucessful year. I want NE picking in the bottom 10 spots next spring!
NO MERCY!
I would call 7-9 a failed season, 8-8 is the bare minimum - and even that would depend on how those 8 were won and lost
Raiders need hard evidence of success – which can only be more wins than losses.

I'm calling 8-8
Which would be a tremendous improvement over the last 7 years. I understand SOB’s point, but I am willing to take smaller steps to success; swinging for the fences for the last 5 years on draft day/free agency is a distinct reason why we have been in the shitter as a team. Huge swings are possible, but I am more of a ‘build the foundation, and enjoy long-term success’ type of guy.
I think that splits with Denver and San Diego are quite possible, as is a sweep of KC, but everyone here should know that those type of interdivision rivalry games are the ones that can go any which way. I feel very good about the games with St Louis, Arizona, Seattle, Jacksonville, and San Francisco, and will wait to see what happens during the season with Miami, Houston, and Pittsburgh before trying to decide the odds. Very tough games, IMO, will be Indy, Tennessee, and San Diego twice.
As I shape up the division, I think that 8-8 should be good enough for 2nd, but I’ll also say this: that won’t be the case in the next year or two; the division is rising up again, and will shortly be the beast it was for years.

I still have us at 7-9
and so far the preseason has kept me with that prediction. The offense will continue to struggle to score points. With an inconsistant O-line, we will struggle to run the ball, and with a very thin receiver group, we will struggle to pass the ball.
The Defense will help improve the team and keep us in games, but I still don’t see a playoff team at least this year. I think we are getting much closer than we have in a long time, but there is still work to do. I’m hopefull we will kick ass, and think 9-7 is attainable, but 7-9 is my prediction.

eh
u will be between 9-7 and 6-10 your best player still is a punter and a CB to be etile it needs to be QB RB pass rusher LT

True, our best players are punter, kicker, and CB but because they are so much better than the competition doesn't diminish
how good our DL is compared with other teams or our rushing LBs – they are up there, j-man. I agree that LT (for right hand QBs are essential and Mario, like Routt, has a spotty history. However, Mario has improved significantly over the past 8 months and Jason Campbell is a work in progress that, you will admit, is moving in the right direction getting incrementally better and better as he goes. Now then, Bush is my man in the backfield, I love him and always believe he should be getting the ball 25 times a game. McFadden can easily be converted to a WR and we go smash-mouth with Reece and Bennett/Cartwright in our backfield – this ist mein vision for ow dominazition!!!

Actually, j-man, I'd say if you had your two best players on your O line
you can win with an elite CB, two D lineman, and a mediocre QB, and a couple of decent RBs.
We lack those guys on O line, so 8-8 is a realistic goal, and it could be worse if we lose both JC and Grads at the wrong time. If our best performing O lineman don’t (not sure who they’ll be right now) get hurt, it’ll be worse. If Seymour or Nnam miss more than a game each, it’ll be worse. If Schilens remains out most of the season again, it could be worse. If Bush’s injury hampers him all season, or becomes a turnover issue, it’ll be worse.
Lotsa question marks here, and I’m being optimistic. While vastly improved, we’ve a long way to go. Our only saving grace is that our division rivals have not only done too little, they’ve done a lot to hurt themselves in the last year. SD mostly; KC will be tough and improved. Denver will have a QB controversy before long when Orton flails a game or two, and the Shanny run game is a thing of the past, and no longer a staple of Bronco teams. The smaller line will be susceptible to injury, and Clady could go down too.
Tebow will be the next Rick Mirer. I hate to break that to you, but his delivery is more telegraphed than Leftwich’s, and will be the thorn in his side, especially when he faces a tough pass rush.
