Oddly enough, it's DHB

Target him early and often. They know about Zach, Louis is the guy everyone says will have another good year, the rest of our WR corps is essentially waste (except the underrated Nick Miller). Our D is better, but in order to win, we need a monster game from DHB to open up the underneath routes and stretch the tightones D. This opens the run game for some big plays from Dmac, Bush (if he plays), and Bennett/Cartwright. This will be a shootout in the 30’s.

Chris Johnson

And not ours, if we cannot keep him bottled up, I am afraid we are in trouble. This offense is going to be good eventually, but I think it is going to take a few more weeks to really gel and start clicking, in the meantime, D has to carry us (AGAIN!), not worried about VY beating us via pass, but if we cant slow down CJ, btwn CJ and VY’s legs, will be a long shitty day.
So, if we are picking a single OAK guy, I guess I have to go w/ either Seymour or DeathRo.
Seymour b/c he is a vet leader and this D’s preformance will be directly proportional to RS’s play.
DeathRo b/c as a QB of the D, he is being asked to do a ton as a RkMLB, a good oline and one of the best rb’s in the game, not to mention one of if not the very best running qb, We need DeathRo to be solid to win.

NO MERCY!

On our side I think its Jason Campbell

If he can’t get the offense going, its going to look a lot like last year. I hope he is able to stay on the field for a while because if he cant we are in trouble.

Gradkowski.....

we have grad he has the skill to lead the team if campbell ever goes down hes always ready but i hope campbell can lead the team either way to not have this qb search go on any further.

The Cell Block - Linebackers - hold our fate: San Quenin, Death Ro, and Warden Whimbly

Darren needs to make his presence felt to keep the D honest and we did choose him over Chris Johnson so there should be that “chip factor” motivating him too.
If Cambell bogs down in the 1st Half we shouldn’t hesitate to bring Grad in.

You don't get a nickname you don't deserve..

.unless you are talking about a womens prison.. since they all pretty much played like little girls today.. if these guys were in prison.. based on today’s game.. they would be everyone elses b.i.t.ch… that was just embarassing!

They certainly haven't earned a hard-ass name, but haven't earned 'punks' or 'bitches' either.

Sifters or Colanders might describe them yesterday – stopping most stuff and letting the rest through w/ Safeties almost equaling LBs in total tackles – 11 to 13.

This game will be won or lost in the trenches, as most games are.

If the OL can play at even an average level for the game, opening up some running lanes, then Jackson will be able to mix up the play calling, keeping Tennessee from keying on any one thing, allowing Campbell to go short and long at different times.

Everyone knows, or should, that the DL will have to do a good job of absorbing blockers to free the LB’s, and penetrating to keep Johnson from breaking to the outside, and to keep his rushing totals from killing us.

We’ll see where each line really is today; the preseason means nothing.

by signcut on Sep 12, 2010 6:44 AM PDT reply actions

Our DL demonstrated that ability throughout preseason - they did their part - whereas the LBs were often out of position or

didn’t come up to make the tackle. Don’t see Wauffle’s guys playing any worse – on the contrary, with Seymour playing more DT and Kelly rotating with Henderson and with TScott with Shaughnessy while Houston maintains, I see this as one-on-one situations – a Linebacker vs. CJ in the open field.

Everyone had made good points but..

I have a feeling this will be either a huge game for us or a huge loss. Someone mentioned earlier in the week that after big plays, players tend to hang their collective heads in dissapointment. We have to stay fired up.

Turnovers turnovers turnovers

We have such a hard time keeping the ball AND also taking it. We have to atleast break even. IF were in the negative column in the takeaways then we shall get hammered. Also if could stipulate another tangible it will be clock management and keeping the clock moving to keep the time moving so the Titans have less time to play with. Grind it out with some runs and short dunk passes. KISS (keep it simple stupid) and we have a chance. On D we need to show lots of different packages rather than the same old can of beans 4 man front rush, no blitz and man to man coverage.

When you least expect it there I am waiting below to take you out......if your lucky.

Turnovers

The Raiders can significantly decrease the significance of Chris Johnson and Vince Young by taking the ball away from the Titans offense and taking it for scoring drives.

By the same token, the Raiders must be secure with the ball to have any shot at winning this game.

+1 to SOB for “The Cell Block”.

I think if McFadden will play extensively, he'll be the impact.

Tennessee’s defense is slow, so if mcfadden continually gets to the outside, look for him to get big runs.

I’ll take 11 players with heart on the field over 11 guys with just talent. Talent is fleeting, it goes away over time. Heart is what drives you to be better. To push yourself beyond what you think your capabilities are. To show us that when you strive, all things are possible.- SMP

I'm ready for the Game to begin !

For the first time in… well, awhile, I’m really excited about this Raider team.

The Titans are a great opening day opponent for us, and I think a closer match up than most outside of the Raider Nation give the Raiders credit for.
Jeff Fisher isn’t one of them, and has watched hours of film on the Raiders, and Not looking past us. This is a great test for both teams.

I believe if we play tight and consistent, few mistakes or turnovers, Raiders Win this one.
I think the Raiders will have success thru the air, often and regularly.
The D needs to be sharp and at the top of their game All Day.
And the ST’s can’t be giving up chunks of land to Tenn.

CJ says he wants 200 yds this game, He’s NOT going to get it, he will be in the 100, 120 area, he’s just too good to stop completely, unless you bring the house against him and make Tenn. try an beat you through the air. That’s how Pitt. held him under 100 yds last year.
But we also need to keep close watch on VY and their TE, so our D does have it’s work cut out for them today, I think they’re up to it and ready.

While a loss wouldn’t be the end of the world for the Raiders, a opening day Win would and will be Huge for the Raiders.

Take it to em’ Raiders!
Just Win Baby!

Living up to expectations!

I feel that if the Raiders are able to play smart football they might have a good chance of winning against the Tenesse Titans. One more thing, if Jason is able to play healthy and stays consistance, the Raiders will most likely dominate this one. I know this might sound wierd, but I would feel more comfortable with giving the QB spot to Gradkowski, Bruce. I feel that this guy in my opinion has proven to be a solid QB given the opportunities to go in at critical moments.

Johnson

The key to the game is stopping Chris Johnson! Also dont let V.Y. scramble. I think J.Campbell and L.Murphey will have big days. Maybe Yamon can return one. Heres a link to my preview of the game.

Johnny Lee Higins

The raiders need to work a way into making J.Lee.Higs. more productive just simple b/c he is fast and quick. He can be a weapon, but needs to be played more.
