2nd Half Thread: Oakland Needs To Look Completely Different In The Second Half To Have Any Chance Of Winning

The Raiders looked about as lost and unprepared as any team that we have seen in recent memory before recovering and using screens and draws to keep the Titan pass rush at bay. And speaking of Bey, didn't see him, did you? Or how about Zach Miller? I did see Figurs and JLH fighting for the ball, but Murphy has let two huge plays slip through his hands.

Let's hope that this team can get it closer going into the 4th Quarter.

Go Raiders!!!

Because Cable's plan is obviously to tire out the TN D Line by having them keep sprinting up the middle into the backfield.

Eventually they’ll get tired, and then BAM – got ’em right where you want ’em!

the o-line is to blame.

Campbell cant get time to throw to any of our speedy wideouts. they cant open a hole at all for dmac. This is a problem that brings the entire team down and led JRuss to look as bad as he did. He wasnt completely to blame and i think thats obvious now. Cable isnt all to blame either but this is he line so he should at fault to some extent. The O-line needs more talent before the offense can move on.

Campbell looks very bad and you can pin most of that on our terrible line play. Grads is much more mobile and comfortable moving around. That being said I am not sure he would do any better but he does have a history of success playing behind Oaklands Olines.

that's a bad argument

because every game should be the game for JC.

He looks horrible out there, even if it’s not all his fault, some of it is. I haven’t seen anything in him yet that I saw in Grad last year. But now it’s too late to put Grad in. Because it will kill Campbell’s confidence. But I say 2 or 3 more games no improvement, Grad will go in. They’ll learn from last year that you can’t wait for someone to improve and have less tolerance.

I'll keep saying

There are positives from this game. We didn’t expect to really win did we? Find some positives because they are honestly there.

Look, we won five games last year and we could have lost every single one of those. Several came at the very end (KC, Pitt, Denver, Cinci) and one was very close (Philly).

This is a better team that will be more competitive all year. They’re playing on the road against a very good team with rookies finally having to experience the big stage.

Find the positives, fans:

DMac
Campbell over JaWorthless
Better run defense
Special teams coverage
Better play calling

Other positives

This game was going to be a loss. Tennessee on the road on opening day, are you kidding?
So it’s a loss.

If Denver loses, that will be against Jax, a much weaker opponent. Hope for that.

And all you who are bitching, you’ll be praising the improvements later in the year. The problem is that you expect too much, too soon.

Write this one off and move on.

by RLangford on Sep 12, 2010 1:05 PM PDT reply actions

You'd be better off if you realized this was going to be a loss

and accepted the fact that we learned some things. Even if one of them was that our O-line is horrible right now.

by RLangford on Sep 12, 2010 1:06 PM PDT up reply actions

Very true, they had too many pro running weapons in CJ and VY.

He evaded many would be sacks with his feet. Not many unless you name is Vick or Mcnabb can do that.

gogo go away, wow, we lost, this was a bad matchup for us. Chill. Stop being all negative.

We have many rooks, they will improve for next game, vs Rams, lol. We will win and go 1-1 next game.

Okay, we're cool

Furthest thing from that, but the insult makes me appreciate your rage more.

Look, I’ve been following the Raiders forever. I know this is going to be an up and down year. But I honestly did see some positives today, the ones I noted.

We were such a mess last year, always lucky when we won. I’m feeling as though with Jackson, Campbell, D-Mac, and a stouter defense we are going to be a more competitive team.

by RLangford on Sep 12, 2010 1:10 PM PDT up reply actions

the defense

is the only thing that may be a bright spot there, and d-mac ONLY if he stays healthy and upright.

but I don’t think Jackson is going to be everything that everyone thinks he is.

Absolutely

This is a team that is getting better and will gel more every week.

by RLangford on Sep 12, 2010 1:14 PM PDT up reply actions

Diving catch by a Bronco WR..... wow.. I wish our WR's were that confident.

JC needs to learn the fucking playbook better and anticipate the WR’s route and throw it like real pro QB’s do it. Gradkowski has shown that much…..

The RaiderLaker

by JaggerJaw on Sep 12, 2010 1:14 PM PDT reply actions

But in Pre season I was seeing how Gradkowski and JC passed.

I noticed Grads threw in anticipation to the WR’s route, it’s like he has learned their routes perfectly. JC hasn’t done those kinds of throws only checkdowns to McFadden. I hope he improves.

The team needs to wake up, this looks very similar to games last year

Almost like...they have chemistry.

I said before that Grad had chemistry w/ the team already and that’s why he should have started.

Hey gogomaplata...

Shut the fuck up. You haven’t said ONE thing that isn’t something you ripped directly out of your ass. Taking a hard loss is tough enough. No one wants you, or needs to see you stink up this thread with your retardocity as well.

yo

we’re fans. We played like shit. It’s always like that on here on games like this. Accept it or move on. We saw our weaknesses in this game. After how much the “head coach” said he would be working w/ the o-line personally. So I’ll put up w/ the whining now.

I know how to define a troll

prodding people for reactions is a troll. Shooting off to a guy for the way he formats a post is trolling. Telling someone he’s talking out his ass and running your mouth, while telling him he’s running his mouth is being a troll.

now sit down and shut up.

Lets not start tearing eachother down now

I mean none of us took teh field. But each of us is dealing with another season of a poor start. yes bad match up for us. We were out coached, out played and out scored.

I for one hope they canturn things around its been done before so hell look at the rams. They are moving the ball

Huff makes one tackle, hurts knew

I think he’s full of it. He didn’t want to take it like a man so he fakes an injury.

Branch, where the hell was the interception? WTF?
I don’t care who starts as long as it isn’t, Branch, Eugene, or Huff.

Give me Ware, I don’t care,
Put in Mitchell, the crazy missile,
Or even Brown, this is OAKTOWN goddamit!!!

Mad as Hell!

There’s a few things I want to get off my chest. 1st we need to blitz once in awhile! 2nd We need to put Bruce in. I didn’t see any problem with having Bruce QB last year! 3rd We have a chance in our division, so freakin throw the ball deep once in a while to scare the defense because our running looks good. Last I’m a long time Raider fan & I just want to be proud of the team in the South BAy!
