Defeat Snared From the Jaws of Victory

Turns out Ken Wisenhunt is more knowledgeable about managing an NFL game plan than I am. Either he or whoever the Cards offensive coordinator is figured out how to get Derek Anderson to manage the offense rather than sling errant passes as he is prone to do. He even rifled one in to Larry Fitzgerald to show up Nnamdi.

I eat crow since I was expecting Anderson to choke hard and hand the Raiders the game. That job went to the Cards defensive secondary who put the Raiders in field goal range with a few ticks of the clock left.

Oh that's right, Jano doesn't need to work on his game in the off-season. He plays golf with Shane Lechler. I mean, what else does Jano have to learn about kicking field goals? I'll forgive him for the missed 58 yarder but anything within 40-45 should be money. You know, the kind that Jano makes.

I was surprised at a few things in this game. The first is Darren McFadden really does seem for real after all. I was not expecting him to keep putting up good numbers up 3 games in a row pounding through the heart of a defense. Turns out his off-season workout regimen is paying off.

Next is the OL actually played a bit better than usual. Perhaps because lumbering oaf, doofus extraordinaire Robert Gallery has been replaced due to injury. The overrated, beast-like (in appearance) Gallery is crap. Daniel Loper looked impressive in his place. I'm not saying the OL is ready for prime time. Clearly the whole team has work to do but the OL looks improved.

The proof is there for all to behold, Gradkowski needs to be our QB. We cannot afford to have dimwits who can't make quick decisions or escape the pocket playing QB.

Speaking of an off-season workout regimen, does Derek Anderson have the skinniest arms of any known QB or was my TV playing tricks? The guy does not look like he lifts weights at all.
