Justin Fargas

I think that there are enough backs on the team. Hartwig would be nice though

OTs

A lot that i saw were either guys who can’t make teams or guys who last played in ’85

by Dogsoldier on Sep 4, 2010 9:51 PM PDT reply actions

Willie Parker was just cut

I think if we needed a rb he would be a nice addition

by Dogsoldier on Sep 4, 2010 9:57 PM PDT reply actions

Definitely

We should give him a look since we don’t have a Portis.

Louis Rankin

Likely a better 3rd RB and special-teamer than either Cartwright or Bennett at this point.

by LiveAdam on Sep 4, 2010 10:03 PM PDT reply actions

Seattle let him go ??!!!

If we do bring a back in, Rankin Or Blount !!! Either one, and we’ll be set until Bush’s return. This would insure them not rushing him back before time !!! Rankin We know, He’s got skills and we shouldn’t have let him get away a couple of years ago. Kiffen cut him, if i’m not mistaken. Enough said !!! But Blount would be an interesting pickup !!! Wildchild, yes !!! But a second version of Bush, matter of fact Bush 2.0, would be nice !!!!

kelly washington is a good wr to get.

he was with the pats a few years, and he was a good wr for the ravens last year.

I’ll take 11 players with heart on the field over 11 guys with just talent. Talent is fleeting, it goes away over time. Heart is what drives you to be better. To push yourself beyond what you think your capabilities are. To show us that when you strive, all things are possible.- SMP

houshmandzadeh!

first of all that will be the longest name on the raiders and also we need him badly and he might actually want to come i mean if he would go to the seahawks why wouldnt he want to come to the raiders?

HoushmandzadehAsomugha

Just to make anyone who covers the Raiders sweat bullets hoping that person isn’t involved on a play. I was hoping to hear “Houshmandzadeh covered by Asomugha” when I watched the Seachickens play them.

Ladell Betts Willie Parker or Derrick Ward

may be good insurance at RB if Bush is out for a long period.
We definitely need a veteran WR

by Oceanside Raider on Sep 4, 2010 11:37 PM PDT reply actions

Derrick Ward is a Texan now.

And i don’t really like Betts. I think at RB Parker would be our best bet.

by Dogsoldier on Sep 5, 2010 4:54 AM PDT up reply actions

Justin Hartwig would be a good signing imo

would love Housh but unlikely, and also think Fargas may be a good idea to get us through till bush gets back but with keeping Bennett and Cartwright its not going to happen

Hartwig might be better to get for guard

Over at the Steelers blog they complained profusely about how Hartwig was dominated and completely manhandled by 3-4 nose guards. Do we really want a Satele redux?

I would however, take Hartwig to be RG replacing Carlisle.

hartwig at guard is fine with me

we need O-line help

Clowney from the Jets

Every Time I have seen this man, he’s ALWAYS catching a pass for 30+.

Snag him.

LeGarrette Blount

Here we go, check RB off the list. It’s scary – Tenn. backfield is so solid they can release Blount.

My Sentiments Exactly !!!

We know he has that type of, Take No Shit Mentality, to be a Raider !!! And I think this kid has a BIG CHIP on his shoulder, that could be made into a postive thing for our running game !!! No Name player of value, far as the OT position. We going to have to trade for one, if it going to be addressed!!! Huff + a draft pick for Gaither, maybe, since they made the move with VeldHeer. Truefully, I think Campbell is going to be playing at Tackle, sooner than later !!!!

SIGN T RICHARDSON NOW

Marcel is a great reciever but McFadden is gonna need a bruiser to clear the way cos we all now if he gets tapped he’s going down

Just a few...

Hartwig to check out at RG, and take a look at Blount, especially with the injury to Bush. No, it isn’t that significant, but McFadden has yet to play a full season, Bush is already banged, and do we really want to see Cartwright/Bennett get a lot of carries?

Very little risk, and potential high reward with both players.

To Be Honest

I don’t mind seeing Bennet get some carries.

You can forget about Blount and Richardson.

Richardson re-signed with the Jets and the Buccaneers claimed Blount off waivers.

Snooze and Loose!!! this sucks. We were asleep at the wheel on this one. Blount was a top 3-round draft pick who dropped due

to his extracurriculars; he’s one of the most undervalued talents out there. He was released again (Tenn) b/c they are blessed with RBs – as we shall shortly see for ourselves. I’m disgusted with our post-roster-cut “activity”.

I like Matt Jones and Justin Hartwig…Either would be a good signing.

True knowledge consists in knowing that you know nothing

by JaKe. on Sep 7, 2010 2:47 PM PDT reply actions

Please add Justin Hartwig

We could then move Veldheer back to OT (or keep him as a backup C) and drop Pears (or Satale). Either way, it would represent an upgrade to our offensive line. Furthermore, we could grab a center in the draft this April (Kristofer O’Dowd of USC would look nice on our OL; as would Stefan Wisnewski, however he may be somewhat undersized).
