In the wake of the latest developments, Tom Cable fired, Nnamdi becoming a free agent, we know he hasn't left yet but suppose he does? This will undoubtedly cause a number of other Raiders to want out and there will be teams vying for them because we do have talent.
Now, back to Hue Jackson. If we do suffer loss of talent ( all is speculation ) does the argument that Hue knows the offense / the guys so he should be head coach really still hold water? - Is consistency still the biggest issue here. Can he be successful with limited talent or reign in a potentially disgruntled Raider team.
Or is it best to just rebuild. There are some great co-ordinators out there who are more than able to succeed as Head coaches. We still have issues with our defense, serious issues - with or without Nnamdi (though its much better with him). The panthers have made their move - Ron Rivera will become HC with the Panthers. What about John Fox, Mike Nolan, Dom Capers, Bill Cowher has expressed he wants to coach - we know it wont be in Oakland but Chicago, Giants are big markets that could lure him. Gruden is loving that MNF booth and all. These big name coaches will / could cause others to loose their jobs. There had been talk during the regular season concerning Lovie Smith facing a lot of criticism in Chicago - Lovie could come down to oakland.
Unfortunately, Al might have alienated the whole NFL where no one wants to deal with him. He surely has a bad rap and maybe Hue jackson is the only one who will tolerate him. But if other coaches are willing to come to oakland - there are better options out there.
