Cleveland Browns vs. Oakland Raiders Injury Report: Raiders' D Looking Really Shorthanded

The Raiders' D could be down five starters on Sunday. Matt Shaughnessy and Chris Johnson have been ruled out. So has Johnson's backup Chimdi Chekwa

Rolando McClain and Michael Huff were both limited in practice and are listed as questionable. If McClain can't go he will be replaced by Darryl Blackstock. That will leave the Raiders' LBs as Kamerion Wimbley, Blackstock, and Aaron Curry. These guys are going to have no idea what the other is doing.

Cleveland hasn't ruled anyone out. C Alex Mack hit the practice field in limited fashion and is questionable. CB Joe Haden did not practice all week, but he is also listed as questionable.

Check out NFL.com's full injury report after the jump....

Looking at this

I’m a little worried about our kick coverage teams.

Rock is the unquestioned leader of those teams. We just IRed Ricky Brown and cut Bruce Davis II. I know Chekwa was good on those teams, too. This is not a good situation with Cribbs returning kicks and punts. Cribbs is different than most returners because he’s a bigger body that can break tackles rather than a smaller, quick guy.

I’d hate to see this game come down to a big return…

That said, Huff and McClain will go, Reese probably won’t be back until after the bye. i think they have to handcuff Rock to his locker to keep him off the field..

A trenchant analysis, good sir ...

Hadn’t though of it, but you’re right: our ST unit is potentially ‘out’ a whole bunch of solid ST ‘starters’ this week. Could def. cause some problems. We may end up having to put some actual ‘starters’ out there … which is somewhat scary prospect considering the plethora of injuries we already have …

It’s esp. scary considering how mediocre our ST have been even when they were pretty healthy. I think the early loss of Eugene is part of problem, cause he’s an ST stud.

Cribbs, if healthy, may well burn us for one this week. But that’s okay, cause it’s still gonna be 45-7. This is our week to do what SF did last week, you see?

I have to wonder how he fits in

after missing so much time, and who he’s going to be taking playing time from.

After the past two games, you can’t sit DHB. Ford’ and Moore are legit home run threats on reverses, bubble screens, and getting deep.

I dig Murph, but what’s his role, now?

I think initially he will take a lot Hagan and Chaz's snaps

depending how he does with those opportunities his role may expand from there

Healthy Chaz > Healthy Murph

we’ve very rarely seen it but its true. I don’t see Murph on the field much at this point.

I love the guy. But he is just not as talented as the others. Maybe not even Hagan.

I’d like to see him traded if there’s a market.

That's a big call

Murphy is a very talented player, i think you are greatly under valuing him.

Chaz is very talented too

Bigger, faster, better hands.

I’m not down on Murph. We have a very talented group.

Murph is somewhat overvalued by having been a bright spot in a sea of johnnie lee higginses.

In a way I agree

But I think it’s unfair to dismiss him like that when he has been our most reliable WR for the last two years.

That's the biz, unfortunately

Who’s the best option to help me win this Sunday?

It will be interesting to see how Hue approaches it. He’s done a great job mixing up this group so far.

I agree with Mr. Christmas

and think Murph might have gotten Wally Pipped to some degree. I think Murph gets some reps in the slot, etc, but our top 3 should be DHB, Moore, and Ford. I think Murph presents good match ups from the Slot. Being this deep at WR is a good problem to have, but I’ll be paying close attention to who’s not on the field when Murph is.

Murphy Will Play

More then expected, this will be the perfect time to fit him in, against a sub-par defense. Same as how Curry will start, the reason is because we are playing a sub-par team and its the perfect time to put those guys who are “working their way in.”

Sup-Par Rush "D" @ #25 But #4 Against The Pass???

That could be because their Rush “D” is so bad that no one wants to throw???

I don’t expect the "WR"s to be very big contributors in this game…It’s more on the "RB"s n "TE"s which is "JC"s game anyway…

Hagan has got hands

He can easily be our number 2 but with all that talent, what do you expect.

Yeah Man

Im sure you seen his highlights already, If you haven’t then you really check him out. Im not favoring him because he is my favorite NFL wideout, but its the way he plays that really makes him my favorite. He might not be blazing fast, but he is fast, He brings that Raider Attitude that we all love to see from a player. When he blocks, he makes sure he is going to hit you, when he catches the ball he always puts that “extra” effort to gain that yard. Chaz is great, he is a very important player in our offense. But one thing i have noticed about the Raiders this year is how we don’t depend on ONE guy to make a play. Regardless if Murphy or Chaz is in im comfortable with any, because they are both great. But to say Murphy isn’t talented like the others? Come On Mannnn…

I just don't think hes AS talented.

Im sure he’ll get some snaps. If he produces, he’ll play. I trust Hue will play who is producing.

If our offense is clicking like it should, any of them can do the job. But its tough to take Moore or DHB off the field right now. Jacoby has his role and Chaz is playing well.

No worries based off this report

We have more than enough bodies to handle our business this week. I would love to see us drop the hammer early to get the guys some rest though.
