Here we are again. The Raiders coming off a semi-solid victory against the Texans. But once again it was a highly emotional game. These emotional games seem to make the next week a post adrenaline rush burn out and the Raiders play like the team they were in 2005. But with our new head coach, that burn out should become a thing of the past. Hue is turning out to be exactly what the Raiders have needed since loosing Gruden. A very smart man that is very excited to be the head coach of the Raiders. He is the Chucky without that snarl. He has brought with him a sense of urgency that the players are feeding off of. The problem now is how does he get consistency out of his players.
Well I think he has made a giant leap forward with the trade for Curry. This trade not only filled a need for the Raiders, it also sent a message to the whole team. The message being that if your not here to win, we will replace you. I am not saying that Groves wasn't here to win, but we all know he was hurting the D on the run side of the ball. Groves seemed to be running into the back of his own D. lineman as the runner ran right by him. It was embarrassing to watch. As the Raiders have done since Al Davis was their owner, they have gone after outcasts of other teams and brought them in to their second chance with a giant chip on their shoulder. Curry has that chip, and hopefully with a new lease on his career, he will bring it. Only time will tell, but I see good things happening this Sunday as the Raiders obliterate the Cleveland Browns.
There is a long season ahead of us and we definitely are on the right track. Week to week, game by game, the Raiders are making a name for themselves and Hue Jackson is creating a bully. With additions like Curry and a few others, Hue's staff is a Raiders legacy in the making and Al Davis will be proud. Can't wait to watch the game this afternoon and see if we stop the run. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!
