Our starting QB is....
Raider Nation is in a dark and mysterious period. No one really knows who are starting Quarterback will be. There have been many different names floating around Garrard, Palmer, Croyle, Losman, Edwards, McCown, but there is a name not floating around that could be the best option.
The reason I bring this up is because David Garrard, is likely out of the Quarterback race because he requires surgery before he is ready to come in and we don't need a body we need a stating Quarterback Now
What do you guys think? What do you hear?

Lol really?
i think his leading receiver this past sunday was the ground.
I say we stay with Boller until Campbell gets healthy
unless we can work a trade by tomorrow, and it seems unlikely.
we never retreat we always ATTACK!!!
bring back
BRUCE!

It's Kyle F'n Boller
He’s gonna shut alot of people up this game. Talk about cashing a golden ticket well here it is.
He has the same chance Bruce got. Gets to play against a big rival and cut his teeth. It’s not like he has to come in and throw for 350 and 4 TDs. Our RBs are gonna combine for 40 plays.
You guys need to quit worrying so much man. Everyone freaked out when we lost Nnamdi, everyone went insane when Miller took off. We’ve come through a better team without those guys, and you still have no faith in Hue? We’re gonna get it done, because that’s what we’re built to do. We’re gonna run the ball, play action once or twice, throw some screens, etc.
Boller has all the arm to make the throws downfield, the ones Campbell has yet to complete. Every game he’s had at least one throw where he has a TD waiting to happen and overthrows the bomb, Now I’m not saying Boller hits that pass either, and that’s the point. Boller can check it down and manage the game with the best of them.

Yup
Boller is the QB. The Raiders will bring in a veteran not to replace Boller, but to back him up in case he gets hurt. There is no QB that is going to come in and learn this complex offense in a couple weeks. We saw yesterday when Boller was cold how Cleveland stacked the box. More plays like the swing pass to the WR will fix this. A new QB can’t learn a 600 page playbook instantly.
Get real people.

Bush is a better blocker than Tonga so if we gave KC the double-back threat with Bush being a rusher, receiver, rush-blocker or
supporting pass blocker giving Boller more time, then the deep-down-field passes to our speedsters could happen on a regular basis – Boller’s got an arm but does need time as he doesn’t move around in the pocket very efficiently from what I’ve seen of him.

Our running game is the key to that SOB
When we run the ball we win games end of story.
Cleveland dropped 8 in the box on us and Boller chose the right targets IMO. No he wasn’t beautiful to watch, but quite frankly we aren’t about beauty. We’re about smashing down walls with the sledge hammers we call Running Backs. We’re about pain and persistence, fighting for a full 12 rounds.
I’m content with what we do already. Hitting that deep pass is the only thing we haven’t done consistently yet. But we seem to be doing just fine throwing short routes and letting our play makers make plays. DHB isn’t exactly doing his damage 30 yards down the field, he’s catching slants and screens and turning them upfield.
Boller is capable of the slants and screens, our bread and butter. And IMO he has just as much of a chance of hitting that downfield throw we’ve been dying for.
Campbell is a good, safe qb for the most part. All Boller has to do is mimic that. Just don’t get stupid and throw it to the other team.

Can he sell the play action?
JC can do that. I’m supportive of Boller…hope he has a solid practice week.

Yes, and I can tell you we were flying pretty high till the 4th Qtr. At the end of the game, when people were heading out
it was weird, anti-climactic, several people had looks on their faces like we’d lost – one guy looked so depressed I stopped and said, “Hey, we did win after all.” He responded, “That’s about it.” I expected, and we should have, blown these guys away – the stats show we dominated but the score was another thing and when you consider they might have scored in the last drive and gone for two. I am not a fan, as you know, of the “Just Win, Baby” mentality – it’s time we bury it with Al.

I watched from a bar and the mood totally shifted after the blown 4th and 1 call.
That’s pretty weird, what you described about that guy/the crowd. I wanted to beat Cleveland by 14 or more…bury them hard (especially after the smack talking in here) and youre right….they couldve tied us or beat us on that last drive since it looked like we had no DBs on their 95 yard drive.
I dont look forward to Chicago or Detroit now until the QB issue (acquiring another arm, whoever that is) is resolved.
Good talking to you again….

Bouman?
According to nfl.com, Todd Bouman will be one of the quarterbacks working out for the Raiders this week. So I have to ask. Who?
Now in honor of resident troll, who loves Bruce so much. I have come up with an idea that I’m sure he would love. The older version of Bruce and like Bruce, this guy is a former Raiders QB, well kind of, he got cut.
Ladies and gentlemen I give you Jeff Garcia.
I think we should sign Troy Smith former Heisman Trophy winner who was drafted by Baltimore when Hue was a coach there. So he should already be familiar with hue’s offense, he’s mobile, and has a decent arm…
Trade boller and a 5th or 6th Rd. pick for Mcnabb… He struggled the last 2 years but his resume speaks for it self….. …… This is a RAIDER type move…. a former 1st round pick who everyone has written off………
Smith or Mcnabb are my choices… other than Palmer (my #1)

Why would you trade Boller?
He knows the system, beat out Edwards for 2nd string and has Hue’s confidence.
