I figure this will be a hot topic of conversation, so I'm just gonna go ahead and start a thread about the subject.

All things considered, when does everything think we should start our shiny new QB?

1) Against KC (5 days)

2) Against Denver (19 days)

3) Against SD (23 days)

My personal take is that there's no way we start him this week.  It's just not enough time to get ready, despite his being familiar with Hue's offensive schemes.  He needs time throwing to these receivers in practice, if nothing else.  So Boller should be the man this week, for sure.

IF Boller plays well, and we win the KC game, I think we should also start him against Denver. 

Reason being, the SD game is only 4 days later, and it's a more important game.   Asking CP to play his first 2 games in a 4 day stretch could be asking a LOT of a 31-y.o. guy who's not played NFL ball since the end of last season. 

This tack also gives us an element of surprise against SD, who'll not have any video evidence of how we plan to use our new QB, how the gameplan might change accordingly.

However if Boller totally craps the bed, and we lose to KC directly because of him, we probably should go ahead and put CP in for the Denver game.

If we lose to KC, but Boller played well, I'm not sure what I'd do about the Denver game.  That's a tough call.  And I'm also thinking it'd be nice for CP to play his first game at home, as opposed to on the Road against the first-place Chargers.  Then again, SD is kinda like Oakland South ... it's not he's going on the road to play at Lambeau or something ...

EDIT: Another question:  Do we put Campbell on IR in order to make the roster space, or find someone else to cut?  The benefits of having JC available late in the season in case something happens to Palmer should be pretty obvious, plus presumably he's getting paid the same either way ...

I'm thinking I'd prefer to demote someone to practice squad or cut them outright if there's a reasonable chance JC would be ready to go at least by the playoffs. 

I could just see us being 11-4, playoff-bound, and then having CP go down to injury in week 17 w/nothing but Boller to turn to ... that would be JUST our luck ...
