It is becoming abundantly clear that Hue Jackson may have been chosen to be more than a head coach . Could it be Al Davis was actually hand picking his successor ? The man who was to carry the torch when he was no longer able to ? Though nobody will ever be able to fill the void left behind after the passing of Oakland's fearless leader , Hue Jackson has helped make the transition almost seamless, and to the Davis family's credit, they have allowed him to do so .
Hue Jackson has been given the latitude no coach has enjoyed since the Madden , Flores era , if even then , and Hue Jackson has answered the call in a big way .Starting with the deal to bring in former 1st round draft pick Aaron Curry to solidify the outside linebacker position , which was apparently in the works before the loss of Al Davis , but finished off without skipping a beat . Followed up by pulling off the deal the Bengals said would never be done , and bringing Carson Palmer to Oakland , giving Oakland that field general that has been missing since Rich Gannon retired nearly a decade ago .
Hue Jackson has definitely been allowed to put his stamp on this team , and has gone above and beyond to help fill the void left behind with the loss of Al Davis , making the transition almost seamless . At least as seamless as it could be after the loss of a man that has meant so much to this organization . Coach Jackson has not only held this team together , but kept it moving forward through these troubled times . Oakland has taken some heavy hits over the past few weeks with the passing of Al , and the season ending injury to Jason Campbell , but has come out of it undaunted, and ready to make a strong push for the division championship .
