Week 7 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Jackie Battle and Raiders Options

Picking a fantasy football sleeper in this game for this Raiders is a bit problematic. That is due to Kyle Boller being at the helm of the offense. Who knows what that is going to look like? And for that matter, who knows if he will actually start?

For what it's worth, I no longer consider Darrius Heyward-Bey a sleeper anymore. Unless you have two wide receivers you are really happy with, DHB is a solid start every week.

With the uncertainty in the pass game, that means we are looking to the running game and Michael Bush. The Raiders are going to try and get their bully on this game. That means they will carry it as much as they can get away with it. Bush should get his share of touches, and I don't think a two TD for Bush is out of the question.

As for the Chiefs, Jackie Battle is suddenly one of the hottest waiver wire pickups around. This is mostly due to Thomas Jones being ready to be put out to pasture than it is Battle being good. The Chiefs' still have a good system in place and lineman to run the ball.

Battle is a bruising running back, and I don't think he is in for a big day. The last two weeks the Raiders have cleaned up the massive let downs in run defense. They will likely still leave themselves vulnerable on a few plays, but Battle is not a home run threat, and I don't see him putting up enough here. I would consider at the flex spot if you aren't happy with what you got.

To be honest, Dexter McCluster scares me more in this game than Battle. McCluster isn't getting a lot of touches, but he has the explosiveness to pop for a big play in the run game or in a favorable matchup against the LBs.

If you are in a gambling mood, slide McCluster into your flex spot.

I'm starting Bush as my #2 this week along w/ AP since Bradshaw has a bye.

I can see at least 1 td & hopefully 80 total yds.

That's who I'm starting as well.

Im hoping Bush has a big game because most of my wrs are on bye, so I had to pick up a couple from waivers.

Raiders Defense

Got me alot of my points. I lost a lot with D.Moore, he has been getting targeted since the play of Ford & DHB. Once teams double DHB, D.Moore and the other guys will get more touches.

All I know is that

Seabass is my kicker on both my fantasy teams and I’m fucked. Because of the bye on one team I have a QB 3 WRs 2 half ass RBs no TE and now no kicker. Looks like I’ll be 4-3 on Monday. R.F.F.R.

Yeah

this week and next week are killing me with BYEs. And Seabass… He’s saved me more than once this year. I’m starting Daniel Thomas and DeAngelo Williams, yikes. At least my buddy had a bunch of Patriots on roster, so he’s hurting too haha

Yeah I got seabass

Got me 20 points in the Texans game, might have to go with an empty alot this week because with the byes I have nobody I can drop :/

I hate bye weeks

And this Seabass injury is no good in reality or fantasy for me. I’m hoping McFadden goes off this week. I’ve got him on my fantasy teams. One team I somehow managed to get McFadden, Arian Foster, Calvin Johnson, Miles Austin, and Stevie Johnson. I was pretty pleased with that. Though injuries and now bye weeks have made it so that I’ve never really been able to play them all in the same week.

I have had of my dreams in one league this year

Drafted schaub, McCoy, Forte, Bradshaw, roddy White, Wes Welker Jimmy Graham and seabass also picked up Newton of the FA wire who is starting over schaub, 6-0 but have a bunch on byes this week also 5-1 in the 16 team league that has a bunch of people from here at S&BP! Going well ao far but a long way to go.

I have SeaBass in 3 of my 4 leagues...

… and just my .02¢ but Dexter McCluster is just flat out worthless in fantasy. He drops passes, can’t even lineup correctly, and will probably only get about 4 carries as a running back with the emergence of Battle. I wouldn’t even waste a roster spot on him.
