AFC playoff picture and where Oakland fits in

It's Monday.  We're all somewhat sober and can look around at the rest of the league.

Surprisingly enough, the playoff picture isn't terrible for the Raiders. Jump over for the rundown....

Here are the teams currently in it, with divisional leaders in bold. Seems like the whole dang AFC.

New England (5-1)

Pittsburgh (5-2)

Baltimore (4-2, has to lose to Jacksonville and make me look stupid)

Cincinatti (4-2)

Buffalo (4-2)

San Diego (4-2)

Oakland (4-3 and still in it, baby!)

Houston (4-3)

New York (4-3)

Tennessee (3-3)

Kansas City (3-3)

There is a lot of football left to play, including many divisional matchups that will go a long way to deciding who gets in.  It's worth noting that Oakland holds tiebreakers over the Jets and the Texans.  With so many teams in it, every game is a must-win.  9-7 will most likely not cut it for a wild card spot, with the odd men out of the AFC East and AFC north divisions likely to be wild card candidates.

A VERY important game towards deciding the AFC West winner will be played next week, as San Diego travels to Arrowhead to play Kansas City.  If the Chiefs win, the AFC West will be knotted in a 3-way at 4-3.  If the Chargers win, they retain the lead at 5-2, with the Raiders a game behind and the Chiefs another game back, followed by Denver at 2-5.
