I don't know how to feel about this. I just hope that Hue isn't Josh McDaniels 2.0. Per ESPN's Bill Williamson:
"The Raiders reportedly worked out receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh and will give him a physical on Tuesday.
"This is a sign the Raiders are going to do all they can to make new quarterback Carson Palmer comfortable. Palmer and Houshmandzadeh played together for several years in Cincinnati. Oakland coach Hue Jackson was Houshmandzadeh’s position coach in Cincinnati.
"Palmer and Houshmandzadeh worked out together this fall. So, as the Raiders are giving Palmer a crash course in their system, they are apparently considering giving him a security blanket.
"Still, Houshmandzadeh has declined steadily and I’m not sure he’s better than any of the six receivers on Oakland’s roster, so other than giving Palmer a comfort level, I don’t think signing Houshmandzadeh would be overly significant."
Noontide's note: I don't like TJ. He can't get open, has suspect hands and he complains. If Palmer is having a hard time getting into synch with the current group; he needs to get over it. They don't need TJ in the mix to slow that process down.
Of course, there is the other side to this and that is this could be an indicator that Chaz Schilens will be out for a while.
Still, no TJ! Even without Schilens the Raiders have enough receivers to play a game with a group of receivers that are all better or at least as good as TJ.
