Lito Sheppard back in the mix?
According to numerous Vittorio Tafur tweets, it appears that Lito Sheppard is back on the practice field for our beloved Raiders. As I drink my Irish Kool-Aid right now, I am starting to feel that this is a good move. My only hope is that Lito can find a way to perform to his earlier self. I have all the confidence in Hue in bringing out the best in players. So far he has worked wonders with DHB and Darren McFadden. Aaron Curry seems to be responding as well. Like I said Hue has my confidence and thank God Al signed him when he did.
Story Update: The Raiders did indeed sign Lito Sheppard, according to Vittorio Tafur and Steve Corkran.

+100,000,000 OTHER RAIDER FAN'S AGREE!
"THE TIME TO WIN IS NOW" - Coach Hue Jackson
Raider Nation, all hand's on deck or get the hell off the ship! That's the way it's gonna be around here from now on! If a 7th & 5th round pick gets you Aaron Curry (a former 4th overall 1st rd. pick) instead of a couple of crap-shoots a year later, then fine and if dealing away a couple of first rounder's gets you a proven franchise quarterback like Carson Palmer and a legitimate shot at the playoffs, then great, you know why? Because your team is standing behind it's motto & legacy, "Just Win Baby!" and "Commitment to Excellence" instead of "Suck for Luck" and "Give Up". Imagine if you were a fan of a team that actually bought into that!?!
Cheers,
- Saint

Common Practice
I don’t get too hyped over this. So far on the bye week it has been two RB’s, Lito, and TJ. This is what teams do on the bye week.
or do they IR Chris Johnson?
"Now I know what your thinking, did he fire six shots or only five. Ive forgotten myself in all this excitement, but being that this is the 44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and could blow your head clean off, you have to ask your question. Do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk!"

No one gets cut because we had an open roster spot since we cut the kicker Rayner

Secondary needs more help...
Why are we not looking at Leigh Bodden.
Bodden just cleared waivers today
we could sign him tomorrow and cut someone loose. But doubt we do, Bodden has been less than pleased about playing slot CB and I believe is dinged up, not sure he is 100%.

Lito will help us out
Especially since this year I’ve seen us play more zone then ever.
Lito knows the ins and outs of playing zone and as long as we don’t ask him to man up on a speedster too often we should be sitting pretty. He’s gonna bring a veteran presence and I hope he’s being very generous with his tips and tricks that he’s acquired over the years.
This should benefit DVD and eventually Chekwa when he gets back on the field.

It is obvious the differences between the play of Chekwa and DVD compared to McFadden and Ware.
These 2 guys have so much upside, and their development has shown wonderful progression from game to game. Both are so fast and they have shown they can shadow the best of the wrs. It is too bad Chekwa has been hurt so it seems that he would likely have a lock on the No.2 by now if he had continued to play. Don’t forget that Chekwa might even be helpful as a safety and has already practiced at that position. We should not forget that both are rookies and their upside is still far from completely showing. DVD seems like such a tender young kid whose body is still developing. He needs more lbs to hang with the bigger wrs, and if he maintains at his weight, I don’t think he will ever make the No.2, but he will always be a good slot, nickel, or dime guy. I am sure he will develop into a reasonable backup for either the No.1 or No.2. Who knows, at this time, you cannot exclude DVD as a potential for the No.1 cb.
The confidence these youngsters are instilling is that drafting more at the cb position is likely to become moot, or, at least I am hopeful that this is what will happen.
