Vote for Oakland Raiders Game Ball of the Week

Photo

There isn't likely to be another week where it is harder to decide who gets the game ball than this one.

We just talked about Michael Bush and Denarius Moore.

Bush had 30 carries for 157 yards and one touchdown. He also had three catches for 87 yards.

Moore had five catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns, and was a highlight machine.

Carson Palmer was also amazing. He was 14/20 with 299 yards, two TDs and a pick. The pick would've been another TD too had Michael Bush not whiffed on his block.

Also:

So Carson has that going for him.

This game wasn't all about amazing offensive performances. Kamerion Wimbley also turned in a game of a lifetime with four sacks, another QB hit that wasn't a sack, three other non sack tackles and a pass defensed.

I'm going with Wimbley on this one. All of the offensive performances were amazing, but in the end I think Wimbley was the single most valuable player on the field. His pass rushing presence made it easier for every Raiders defender and forced the Chargers to game plan around him.

What I loved about this win was that it was a total team victory

On offense it was Bush, Moore, and Palmer with their stellar performances. The O-line dominating the entire game and Wiz getting key secondary several yards down on Bush’s runs. On Defense our D-line dominated and consistently got pressure. Wimbley was a star with his 4 sacks. Routt made Vincent Jackson a non-factor. The DBs covered well and the linebackers did a great job stopping the run. Everybody had some good hits. And then the team as a whole played good disciplined football and limited ourselves to 7 penalties for 45 yards.

After the Jets, Texans, and now the Chargers game we’ve seen how good we can really be when the whole team is jelling and playing as one. I hope to see many more performances like these.

Very Dificult To Pick So I Went With The Newbee..."CP3"...

Bush was total production is this one and allot of that was out of fear for Palmer/Moore…

Moore as a rookie is amazing and will only get better…

Wimbley was on his game big time…Beast!!!

Number 3!!!

If Bush got AFC Player of the week, why not give Palmer the Ball?

I cant vote for 1 person

I think its shared between Moore,Bush,Palmer,Wimbley and Wiz.

Palmer's command of the game was awesome to behold

Carson calmly directed players and managed the clock – reading the defense and adjusting, telling players where to set in the backfield and on the line, barking audibles and making sure everyone heard the play by moving his head to either side and repeating the new assignments. Bush with dependable smashmouth efforts did not wane as the game and defense wore on; Michael was the downfall of SD last year and tormented them again with even more shock and awe. Wimbley was the beneficiary of Curry’s game-ending hit on SD’s LOT McNeal and to his credit exploited the opportunity for all it was worth. Moore is a budding superstar whose graceful elegance and gentle personality evokes at once both Marcus and great deep threat Raider receivers of decades past.

Yes, I went with Carson too

his overall command of this offense and the manner in which he does it, calling audibles and reading defenses calmly and coolly with such a small amount of time in this offense still impresses the shit out of me.
It was a total team win last week, but if I’m forced to pick one player (as awesome as the others played) Carson wins IMO

Moore

2 TDs and 1 truly amazing catch, and all of this as a rookie with a shortened off season.

Easy Choice

Bush. He took over the game. He set up the team for Palmer to succeed. He made big plays and ran hard. Moore is a close second, Palmer third. Plus, he’s a big back who sometimes looks like he’s trying to be RunDMC. Not pretty, but he was effective. Go Bush!

Hard To Say??...Did Palmer Feed Off Bush Or Did Bush Feed Off Palmer...Guess They Ate Together!!

With the big time threat of "CP3"s “Mad Bomber” assault the “DC” didn’t dare crowd that box…Bush exploited them!!!

or

With the big time threat of a powerful Bush the “DC” didn’t dare play it deep and thus Palmer exploited them!!!

Have it your way…I think they both apply and hope this continues…

By land or by Air the assault is forthcoming upon you!!!

I gotta give it to Bush, when you get more yards from scrimmage than Bo Jackson ever did imo you get the game ball

Second definitely Wimbley to me, 4 sacks is sick especially when he accomplished very little this season before this game. Biggest game of the season he showed up huge.

I think the O-line deserves the game ball

Bush looked unbelievable out there, but a fair amount of his big runs, were a result of stellar blocking up front. Lil’ Wiz in particular was a absolute monster. It is amazing how dominant this kid is at multiple positions on the line, looking forward to a long and fruitful career from Wiz Jr. More importantly, CP3 was virtually untouched for most of the game, with Michael Bush making the most game impacting missed block. The only way Carson can get those 30-50 yard bombs off is by getting enough time to make his 4-5 step drops, mad props to the O-line for allowing him to do so for basically the entire game. If anyone else is close to deserving the game ball, I think it’s Moore. He needed to step up when Jacoby got hurt and he did, big time. Our offense needs that constant deep threat to allow our run game to be at it’s best, and since it seems that DHB has become more of a solid route runner than a burner lately, Moore was our only real home run hitter during the game. Either way, it was a great team display in what was a must win game, the playoffs are ours to lose!

Raider Nation, all hand's on deck or get the hell off the ship! That's the way it's gonna be around here from now on! If a 7th & 5th round pick gets you Aaron Curry (a former 4th overall 1st rd. pick) instead of a couple of crap-shoots a year later, then fine and if dealing away a couple of first rounder's gets you a proven franchise quarterback like Carson Palmer and a legitimate shot at the playoffs, then great, you know why? Because our team is standing behind it's motto & legacy, "Just Win Baby!" and "Commitment to Excellence" instead of "Suck for Luck" and "Give Up". Imagine if you were a fan of a team that actually bought into that!?!

I would have to give it to Wimbly

I think his ability to get pressure on Rivers was the most decisive performance of the game.

I would have to say a secondary ball should be given to Aaron Curry. Taking out McNeill was a huge help to the game, although I don’t wish any serious injury to McNeill.

And yes, he did overrun on that play, but I’ll forgive that for the favorable outcome.

But I would give me secondary ball to the offensive line

I had to vote Kamerion

Look, on paper, the Chargers should have beat the Raiders handily with the injured secondary in Silver and Black. But somehow, someway, the D held time and again. Why? This man’s pressure. 24 would not have won the game with the Chargers O firing on all cylinders. This week has to go to the D, and it should go to KW for that awesome 4 sack performance!

That being said, Carson did great, and Bush was off the hook amazing!

Had to give it to Bush.

Wimbly was a beast, but I feel Bush has been more consistent in his play all season long. Plus, he’s got the big shoes to fill and almost always seems to do it admirably. And Palmer had those two late TOs (though not exactly his fault). Moore was great too, but again I basically just chose this based on consistency because that was the easiest tie-breaker for me.

I'm bringing this up because it was a topic in the afc west blog

Bush’s future. He might want starter money which is something that won’t happen. He could go to a team that needs a RB for big bucks like Detroit. Raiders need him. Not many draft picks to get a big RB in the draft. Then again are there any mbushs in the draft?

Never Count Us Out Of The Equation!!!

What eventually happens is a long way off which gives time to set the table for a new deal…I’m still pimping that if this team makes the "PO"s and goes deep into it that Bush may want to stay and thus be more willing to make a favorable deal…Maybe something that’s incentive structured so if he ends up staring he’s compensated for it???

Maybe some other players like “D-Mac” will even be willing to restructure to help keep Bush on board???

We also have the option to “Franchise” him and thus lock him up unless someone is willing to give up their 1st rd picks…Or as the “FT” we could possibly work out a trade that sends him where he wants to be with a good return dividend for us…Either way we can’t just let this valuable cat walk…

This Is Encouraging From Bush...Nice Attitude So Maybe He Wants To Stay???
"He’s excited (for me)," Bush said. "We talk all the time, BBM chat, stuff like that. I see him in here. He came out to practice today. Hopefully he stays and we get a discount...

He shouldn’t forget that we took a big gamble on him in the first place. We took him in the 4th round and most people said it was a wasted pick by us. He was an great back at louisville and had an amazing junior year. He was big and Faster than he is now. He was a heisman hopeful going into his senior year until he had a badly broken leg in his first game. The injury required the insertion of a steel rod and a second operation to facilitate the healing process. He still wasn’t ready by the draft and had to sit the entire first year on the pup list. We had to just allow him to heal. I know its alot to ask by us to want him to stay for less money but come on…Where would he be if we would not have drafted him? It seemed like no one else would have drafted him period much less the 4th round, it showed how much faith we had in him. He probably wouldn’t have gotten the “NFL TYPE” rehabilitaion that he recieved while on the pup list the first year if not for Al. He should think about this come negotiating time.

Adrian eterson is the kinda back molded to tear the raiders defense up. Big and fast and breaks arm tackles easily. If this defense bottles him up then it will go a looooong way to prove the defense isn’t just a doormatt.

I think Seymour is on the cusp ...

What he needs to do is lead the Raiders to the playoffs a couple of years, and keep his nose clean. No more cold-cocking QB’s with 2 rings … cool as a bunch of us may have thought that way, it’s not the kind of thing the HoF voters are going to look highly on. His racking up PF penalties on a regular basis is NOT going to help his claim for (the Hall of) Fame. They look at character as well as accomplishments, he should make no mistake about that fact.

The call on him for tossing Brady to the ground, however, was garbage. There was NO WHISTLE on that play, I watched it/listened like 10 times. And the ref standing right there, the only one he could’ve maybe seen, was acting like the play was still live.

But nevertheless, that’s the kind of stuff he needs to cut down on if he expects to make it in.
