Raiders vs. Vikings Injury Report: Captain Seymour is Still Ailing
The Raiders' defense may be without its heart on Sunday. Richard Seymour did not practice on Friday. His absence on Friday surprised Hue Jackson. Here is Jackson following Friday's practice, as quoted by Jerry McDonald:
I feel good about it, but we’ve still got to see. I was surprised he wasn’t able to go today, but that’s part of it. Again, we’re going to make sure we’re going to caution on the side of health for this football team.
Seymour has been routinely missing practices, but he has at least been getting one practice in before games. His absence would be huge in this game. John Henderson is viable replacement, but he can't play every snap, and with Des Bryant getting his playing time at DE these days, the Raiders D-line is a little thin.
Considering they are going against Adrian Peterson this is a bad game to be missing beef up front.
Also of concern is that McDonald reported that Huff had a bit of a setback, and this puts his availability in jeopardy for this game. Check out the full injury report, as found on NFL.com, after the jump....

I believe he'll play, but big John will spell him a little more
I’m sure we’re resting the big guy.

Big John
is a stud in the middle. He improved alot, getting off blocks and making tackles. I wonder if he still does his pre-game warmup slap.

What they should do is sit him for 3 weeks and use only Rayner.

If Palmer and Co. can start scoring early and often
maybe they could afford to let Jano sit out and rest.
Apparently, Jano injured is better than Rayner at 100%, but if the offense could prove that they can light up the score board and give us a lead we won’t feel like we might need a 56 yarder to win at the end.

Enjoy watching Jano take one step and sending it through the uprights - knuckleball especially.
We’ll need him at some point to win a game and it’s better he take time off now if he really needs it.

True
I would sign Rayner, and save Jano for the Post-Season (Hopefully). We need him at his best, the more he kicks the more he is stressing that leg.

Rayner missed his first field goal for the Bills
Recovering Jano is the better option, seeings he’s missed one all year

He's had some great plays mostly overshadowed because they were in horrible losses to KC and Den
he’s sealing edges where we had difficulty without him on the edge. Also, with the loss of Shaugnessy for the season his role on the team becomes a greater one. Technically we need him to step up and enter beast mode.

Maybe if Seymour can't go
the Raiders should rotate Houston in at DT, let Wimbley play DE and have Trevor Scott play SAM.
That might be as good a way as there is to try and compensate for the loss of our best D-lineman without losing too much elsewhere.
Houston played DT in college, Wimbley is a natural DE anyway and Trevor Scott is probably better in coverage than Wimbley and while not as good at the pass rush is no slouch.

It seems the best answer to this problem
given the players we have are versatile. It might just work.
Lets hope Bresnajoke and Hue have considered this possibility

I am sure this will be an option.
They’ll move Bryant and Houston inside on pass downs, and let Wimbley and Moss handle the edge.
They charged me 15 dollars. That's how much it costs to only have 20 dollars.

It's been a while since Trevor played Sam, but I seem to remember him sucking in coverage there
and that might’ve been part of the reason we found his strength was in rushing the passer. Since he returned from injury, he’s helped seal the edge as a stronger more athletic DE against the run at a time we needed him. I’d say the move is worth a try, but I’m not sure I see our coaches taking Trevor out of the D line rotation right now. We’ll continue to have Wimbley alternating from a rush DE/ SLB even though when he’s at Sam he’s primarily rushing. He’s done okay in coverage, at least mostly taking away his option in the pass game the rare times I can recall off the top of my head.

Good Point
Scott is a better pass rusher standing up. He used to play LB at one point and of course has better pass coverage then Wimbley. Its good to see we have depth on our d-line, and we the rise of Desmond Bryant at DE, he is emerging as another star on our Dline. Let Richard sit, if he can’t play at 100%, just let him sit, because it will be worse if we lose him.

Can’t wait for this game. Raiders need to stay humble but play ferociously. Palmer better stay aware of Allen, hes good at causing fumbles.

With Seymour possibly being out
I predict that it’s gonna be a bit harder for the D to hold the Vikings’ rushing offense. I hope the rest of the team members step up to help support not only the defense, but the whole team itself.
With that said, I wanna see more of this on Sunday:
