Our Raiders have lost 8 straight games coming off the bye week. That is definitely a little scary but it does give Hue a chance to end another embarrassing streak that is still following us from the dark ages. This is just another opportunity for the Raiders to show us that we are not that same old Raiders team. The fans are showing that we believe in this team with the 5th straight sell out, so I hope that the Raiders reward us with a victory.
This is still a time of turmoil for us. We need to show the world that we have not lost our identity. Honestly, we need to show this team that they still have their identity. Its going to be easier said than done to do that with John Clayton reporting McFadden officially is a no go for Sunday. We still have a top 10-15 running back in the league IMO with Michael Bush and a very talented change of pace back with Taiwan Jones. I want to see us run it right at the Broncos and take some pressure off of Carson Palmer.
I am very nervous about this game. We need to win this game. We need it for our morale as a team, we need it for our morale as fans, we need it for the standings, and especially for our divisional record. Not least of all we need it to take a step further away from the dark ages and to end another embarrassing streak. No team has lost this many in a row after a bye week since byes were instituted. This is one of those streaks we need to end in order to really show that we have moved on. I believe we have moved past that time and I am confident that we will be able to play well in this game. I sure hope so for the sake of all of our Psyche's.
I believe in this team and its about damn time to make another statement. I'll end this post with a great quote from one of my personal all time favorite Raiders Jon Ritchie. The fact that one of my all time favorites is a Fullback shows the mindset of us Raider fans and our love for players that put it all out there no matter how much blood they have lost. Jon said today in response to this streak being brought up on Numbers Never Lie:
"Hue hasn't lost coming out of the bye yet."
Lets hope that statement still rings true come Monday morning.
