Raiders lose...there IS reason to panic

Yesterday is another game that is beginning an alarming trend...we are a .500 team...no more...no less. To go along with winning half our games this season...we only play for the first half of games...then we throw it on cruise control and make very few adjustments...especially if we are winning at half. The intensity level of defense especially from the first half to the second half in many of our games this season is night and day and it has cost us dearly. We have the look of a playoff team on paper but the product on the field tells it like it is...we are VERY inconsistent  and easily unraveled under pressure.

What's sad about this loss to me is that we had 2 weeks to get ready for this game...there are no excuses for how unprepared we looked today. The Broncos game plan has been the same since Tebow stating taking snaps. It should be very easy to beat the Broncos...the Lions laid it out for us and all we had to do was copy it and we'd have won the game. We rarely had anyone shadowing Tebow despite what Hue claims and the D-Line didn't get enough pressure on Tebow. We tackled poorly...had blown assignments...and the defensive scheme played into Tebow's strengths for the most part.

I think the power trip Hue is on is really hurting this team. Hue is trying to fill big shoes and I think he's getting in over his head. He was hired to be the coach and I know that circumstances force him to do more but it's hurting the team. I still think he is a solid head coach and can take us places but the Raiders need to lighten his load so he can concentrate on righting this ship at this point. Having said that, I wish Hue would shut up about building a bully, next man up, and performance based playing time...all that stuff is BS and I hate hearing him talk about those things now and it's hard to understand what his thought process is. If DHB wasn't hurt...why wouldn't our leading receiver be on the field? I think this is another "Hagan" situation where DHB is a Davis guy and Hue doesn't care for him. If that's the case then it's sad cause DHB is finally performing and building confidence and then Hue is trying to squash it.

Penalties are on the coaching staff...you either get these guys in line or we will continue to do favors for the opposition. We give away first downs like we're trying to get into the Luck sweepstakes...oh wait...Hue gave away our first round pick cause HE panicked...maybe it's time we followed suit?

My panic stems from the fact that we pushed all our chips in this season and we are no where near to being a team that is close to winning it all to pull off such a gamble. Our defense takes too many plays off...our offense can't carry the team...and special teams has been average. We don't have the luxury of waiting until next year as we have no noteworthy draft picks and our cap situation is disturbing. The team we have now will be the same team we have next year and that is where panic starts to set in.

We need consistency and we need it now.
