I'll be honest. I'm not even looking at the remaining schedules for any teams still left in the hunt in the AFC west (or AFC at large) but unless the Donkeys completely fall apart and go 0-3 down the stretch, it's pretty much going to take a 3-0 record (to finish 10-6) for the Raiders to win the AFC West or snag that final wild card birth.
Our beloved Raiders have taken a swan dive the past couple weeks, thus putting themselves in major jeopardy of missing the playoffs. One more loss could put them out of contention entirely. Sick and tired of our Silver N Black not playing a playoff game all these years? Well, time to look at it from a different perspective. The Raiders are in the playoffs. And they start vs the Lions. Don't believe me? Read on...
Everyone knows what's at stake. The Raiders cannot afford any more missteps. The season is on the line starting Sunday against the Lions. The Nation has been pretty negative as of late (and with good reason) but let's look at it this way. 3 winnable (but none gimmes) games and the likelihood of the Raiders getting into the promised land is pretty much set.
Yes, I know some of you out there are saying that it would be better if they didn't make the playoffs so the Carson Palmer pick doesn't kick up to a #1 (with a playoff victory) since there's no way they can win the Super Bowl. But if the Raiders win 3 in a row, I seriously doubt that any of you will still be on that train. At that point, reaching the Super Bowl doesn't sound so far fetched. Besides, that's what makes the NFL playoffs better than any other. 1 and done. No best of 7 or anything like that. You make the playoffs and you have a shot at going all the way (unless you are the Chiefs or Chargers of course).
What say you Raider Nation?!
