Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

"Jacoby Ford (foot) returned to Raiders practice on Wednesday."
It looks like Ford will make it back against the Chargers, barring in-practice setbacks, and Darren McFadden (foot) probably won't. Ford was spotted by beat reporters running routes and coaching passes Wednesday. The Raiders' wide receiver corps should be at full strength in the regular season finale, a must-win game for Oakland's postseason chances. Dec 28 - 1:32 PM

I hope he does play

SD special teams is less than special, and Ford could make the difference with a KR. Also love to see this guy in the slot! Who on the opposition could stick with this guy in the slot? Think Welker with WAY more speed and athleticism.

DMC, we need ya baby! Get that foot healed already!

by TD Rader on Dec 28, 2011 2:38 PM PST reply actions

More speed ... that I'd go along with ...

But not a lot of guys have more ‘athleticism’ than Welker, let alone ‘way more’.

This being said, I’d be beyond stoked to get Ford back for this game. It was looking like he’s going to be getting open all day in the last SD game … before he went down hurt.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

A three-WR set with DHB, Moore and Ford for once this half of the season would be pretty freaking epic.

Great news we need all the weapons we can get going in to this week and then the playoffs

Saw this on twitter also

Raiders defensive players fine themselves $100 for each penalty. That’s $7,600. “Somebody got a nice little knot,” d-tackle Tommy Kelly said

Maybe they should make it $1000.00

Hmmm....

Taiwan Jones back? They’ll need that speed.

by ROFLCOPTER16 on Dec 28, 2011 2:57 PM PST reply actions

Looks like it..

Taiwan Jones (hamstring) returned to Raiders practice Tuesday.
Jones was likely limited, but he appears on track to play for the first time since Week 11. If active Saturday, the speed back would only be in line for a handful of touches behind workhorse Michael Bush. Dec 21 – 9:34 AM

I think losing TJ in addition to DMac has been a very underrated issue this season

With only Michael Bush our running game has become very one diminutional as he does not posses the speed to get to the outside an I believe this has shown inn his relative struggles since the big start after DMac went down.

IMO that has been the problem with this offense of late

Bush is a one dimensional runner, so teams have been able to stack the box with 8-9 men fronts, which has taken away the running game, and forced CP3 to try to win it with his arm. TJ coming back will open up the outside, and force teams to stay honest rather than play the odds with overloading the box.

Plus TJ can catch pretty well from what I saw of him in college, so it is about time Hue opened this kid up to the game plan and get the ball in his hands on screens and swings. SD has a REALLY bad defense, and this team could make them look much worse with this kid, and the 3 wide set of DHB, Moore, and Ford. Flex out boss, and throw the lights out of the ball. When the D is tired, have Bush run them over like a bowling ball through a full rack of pins.

I have been saying that for weeks.

And I kinda want to see TJ used almost as much as Bush. SD doesn’t have a ton of speed on D; I think he could break a big one.

Got the text at work today and smiled broadly

of course, I’ve been playing with him on my updated Madden roster all week, so I’ve considered him a go for a while now. My sense is it would take crutches to keep him out of this one.

NO To That!!...We Don't Even Have Bush As Of Right Now -n- "TJ" Is Unproven...

The drop off between a healthy “D-Mac” and Bush was very damn obvious as was the need to have Bush for back-up…WE damn sure need to continue to be a rushing leader for this “O” to work…

Personally I would like to see Bush return and we go to a 2-half type rushing “O” so both remain healthy with “TJJ”/Reece as relief…Either pound the rock in the 1st half with Bush/Reece and run them raged with speed in the 2nd with “D-Mac”/“TJ” or the other way around…

Sweet

Won’t expect much really, just happy to have him on the field. Decoy him up, it will leave Bey open. Or decoy Bey, it will leave Moore and Ford open. Hahahah, decoy them all and watch Chaz have the game of his career!!!! Can’t wait!

Love To See Ford Back...But "O" Is NOT Our Problem Even With All The Injuries!!!

Now this does surprise me and is prolley to blame the most for our losses!!!

Raiders’ “D” 2010 to 2011

Toatal “D”….#11…..#29
Passing…….#2……#25
Rushing…….#29…..#27
Sacks………#2 Tie..#9 Tie
Scoring…….#20…..#29
Int’s………#25…..#9

And I was one of the loudest voices calling for the “MarshMallow” to be run….

Everyone wanted more "Int"s…Got’em…But coverage has suffered greatly in the process…

Sad To Say But I'm Almost As Excited About The Other AFCW Match-Up As I Am About Our!!!

Orton taking down Tebow would just be sooooo sweet!!….To see Elay with that “Horse Face” grin whipped off his mug…Now that’s what dreams are made of…And to go into the off season NOT having to see ten posts a day about the “Miracles of Tebow” but instead read about how he’s on the trade block heading out of the AFCW!!!

Than I will lose that “Tebowphobe” signature…..HEEE! HAAH!!!…..

Just wish the games weren’t on at the same time so I could enjoy them both….Rooting for the Chiefs should be an embarrassment but NOT this week NOT this season!!!

Dont want to get too far ahead...

But I’ve been thinking about CP3 and how helpful he might be against playoff teams like the Bengals, Steelers and Ravens down the road because of his familiarity with them from his days in the AFC North…and getting DMC back, we could go all the way…he can rest this week, I think we’re more effective with Bush against the Chargirls…they always look scared against him, they dont want to get run over by this 245 pound beast up the middle with really nothing to play for….been waiting 8 long years for this, I hope everything works out fine for us…time to rise up Nation…GO RAAAAAAAIIIIIDEEEEEEERS!!!!!!

by Raider Roy on Dec 28, 2011 10:56 PM PST reply actions

Hopefully, in the end....

all his miracle streak will have done is keep them from getting a top QB in the draft and keep their offense stagnant for another few years. WInning those games lowers their draft possibilities,

True Be That!!

Hell it would prolley be to our best advantage for him to stay in “DonkeyVille” if the damn "Mediot"s and fanatical religious freaks would just shut the fuck up!!!

I Think Elway Want's Him Gone...I Think He Figured He Would Crash-n-Burn Quickly..

The only way to silence all those weird Denver “Billboard Fanatics” was to play him and expose him to ridicule…Instead that NFL “Mediot” engine started pimping him as a "PB"er….YIKES!!!…Now that would have been pitiful and lowered the qualifications and the honor all at the same time….Damn glad to see that failed to happen….

If he loses out this week showing as poorly as the last 2 weeks it will silence many of his supporters but certainly not all who will blame their “D” for the failures…Just plain weird because in reality it’s their “D” that kept them in those games NOT “T-Bowne”!!!

But I suspect Elway tries to clear the table at “QB” and start fresh now with a much later draft pick…Orton’s already out and “The Mighty Quinn” doesn’t get much support although he hasn’t had much opportunity sense being drafted to show anything….The “Dawgs” didn’t exactly have much to showcase him in…

At any rate I doubt they have an established “O” going into next season…But they do have a very good “D” if they can replace their aged "DB"S….

Houston Worries Me....What Will They Be Playing For???

They have already won the South and can’t win the Bye now at 10-n-5…Not with Pitts playing the "Dawgs"….So what gets them up for this game???

AFCS rivalry?
Not wanting to risk seeing Tenn again in the "PO"s?
Trying to rest some players for later??

Nothing here gets me excited!!!

Jets-vs-Miami has more potential in it…Jets need it and Miami has been playing better and would love to deny them…But we need the jets to win if we win for the tiebreakers to take effect…Jets are in Miami against a very good "D" while their "O" is being dissed by "SOB"Rex’s big mouth….Already their "OC" and "QG" are getting all the blame….So how much will either have and how much will that team have???

Well Here It Is If You Really Care To Know...My Honest Assessment:

OK…It All Started At Childhood

Actually I was one of those mentally challenged types back in the 50’s-60’s before the public school systems learned hot to deal with us…In that period we were just the trouble maker who couldn’t behave in class…Now they put names like ADD n Dyslexia on it…

Played ball all threw school and earned my 1st letter in 7th grade track…

Class of "69" n military discharge "71"…

Than came college at USU College of Engineering 1979 at the age of 29…Well coming out of HS with a 1.9 after going to night school to finish was a bit of a hold on me getting in…But nothing has ever stopped me from doing what I’m determine to do…The funny thing about this is that Literature is a required subject…Oh my Lord!!!…

I had spent 7 years in the metal trades Boilermaker/Steemfitter/Ironworker/Machinist but now was advancing to the engineering sciences out of pure desire…The learning disorders were never a hindrance in those trades…

So…How do I possibly master the English language with all it’s ridicules does n Don’ts???…And I can’t spell

To the rescue was "Creative Writing"….What fun!!!..

So I took this class to a whole new level…Problem solving after all was a strength…So I reasoned: If we can manipulate our language free from restraints to make picturesque that which is unknown than why the hell can’t I use that same freedom to create my own damn writing format…Thus it has evolved free from restraints and subject only to my own i-mag-gin-a-tion!!!… Yippy!!!…Problem solved!!

The simple fact is try as I may I will just never get it right…That’s just my hindrance in life to live with…Like spelling…But this stupid computer can’t put the proper punctuation in for me…

But it’s rather like sports…We all had our strengths and we all had our weaknesses…The winners were the ones who could play threw their weaknesses while promoting on their strengths…That’s basically what I have learned to do thew life..

Now living in Cambodia/Thailand as filed Gemologist for a Ruby mine while researching metal deposits and studying gem field geology/mining engineering/heat treating specialties with plans to make a move to Tanzania after this season to continue my research in the Winza Gem Fields…

USU College of Engineering Welding Metallurgy
GIA Graduate Gemologist
GemLab Heat Treating Specialist

The only weakness a man has is the limitations he allows to be put on himself…I do NOT!!!
