Lets Start the New Year by Winning
This is it people!! This game means more than any other game for the Oakland Raiders in the past decade. Even though they do not own control of their own destiny there is a very good chance of making it into the playoffs with a win. However even if things don't fall our way and we miss the playoffs for yet another season a win still would mean the world to me. I am so sick of this streak of non-winning seasons and it is incredibly important to end it right here and now. Beat the Chargers and finish this season 9-7 and let the chips fall where they may.
Surprise, surprise, we do not have Darren McFadden once again. This is one team where Michael Bush has always done very well against anyway but still its tough to go yet another game without DMC. I understand that it has been a ploy to claim DMC might play each week but man has it been annoying. I keep telling myself forget about it, he is done for the season, but still I find myself hoping he can play week in and week out. I am not at all on the trade McFadden band wagon that seems to be gaining momentum, but I do understand the frustration that caused that train to get on a railroad track.
Having Jacoby Ford back would be great. He has already announced himself that he will be out there and all the reports seem to confirm that. He is such a huge weapon and opens things up for everybody else on the field. It has been a tough season not having him out there, even though it is only his second season he is easily one of my personal favorite Raiders. The difference between having him and not is extravagant. He is so fast that he demands safety coverage and the more attention he requires the less attention can be paid to our other talented options. If they decide not to shift extra coverage he will burn them and if they do it opens it up for Denarius Moore and DHB. I am excited that it looks like he will be playing, to say it as minimally as I can.
We need our defense to come up big though. We can win a shoot out if our offense is firing on all cylinders but I never trust us to do that. We need to get in Phillip Rivers head right away and stay there the whole game. It is hard to say what type of team we are going to see out of San Diego with them being eliminated from the playoff race, but I would not count on them rolling over for us. They hate us and would love to make us not make the playoffs and have to sit next to them on the couch.
The big injury for them is Vincent Jackson who was almost unstoppable (When he tried to go after the ball) against us the first time around. He has not practiced all week and that usually means they wont be playing. Since this is the last game of the season for them though it looks like he will try and play through any pain. If he does not play then the Charger offense will be far less explosive but with him being listed as probable it looks like a pipe dream to expect him not to play. Ryan Matthews and Mike Tolbert also haven't been practicing and would be great for the Raiders if they missed this week.
I don't care how we do it, I only care that we win. If we could finish 9-7 it would be a great finish for us considering the unprecedented turmoil we have gone through this year. Winning a game that is so meaningful would do wonders for us in the years to come. The old Raiders would lose a game like this, but I believe that Raider team is in the past. I wont be completely satisfied if we win and miss out on the playoffs, but I would be ALMOST satisfied. I am sick and tired of losing and will be watching this game more intensely than any other this year in hopes that we will have our first winning season since 2002.
This team cares, wants to win, and is ready to not be losers anymore. I don't care if Tom Cable thought we were not losers anymore at 8-8, we still were not winners. Lets finish this season on as good of a note as we can and go out winners. If we can take care of our own business then maybe, just maybe, the football gods will decide our years in purgatory have earned us the right to have another post season to play in. I will be waiting and watching, praying to those football gods to give me a wonderful way to start the new year. Cheers everybody and lets all hope for a Happy New Year!!

Good post MAK
Check out two very well known pros, not dickhead sports pundits discussing Oak’s game this Sunday. Theyre telling it as it is. Again, what other team couldve pulled off what the Raiders did in losing JC….resilience, and a team in the thick of it.

Nice, especially coming from an Ex-Bronco and an Ex-Patriot! lol
Its still sad that nobody gives us credit for even getting this far considering what we have gone through, but if we make the playoffs I bet then the story of our season will blow up a bit. It is our own fault for not winning a couple more of the close games and already being in the playoffs. Nobody wants to put themselves on the line for us because they dont trust us, and because we are DA RAIIIDAHHHSSSS

See, I’m wondering if Detroit doesn’t end up stealing that most hated team title from us before long. Especially now since they’re winning. When they were losing, nobody would have cared.
Happy New Year MAK

No way they will take that from us
Thats the Detriot Lions who have Suh, this is the Raiders, Atkinson, Tatum, Hayes, Hendricks, Long, Al Davis. And let me say I am proud to hold that title
IDK it might come close, we keep getting cleaner and cleaner as far as late hits and dirty play and they keep getting dirtier and dirtier
We dont really do much of the old dirty stuff anymore and they really have started to do some nasty stuff. We have a whole lot of credit built up and we people love to hate on us though so maybe your right and it will always be ours.

I cant believe this...
The Lions are nobody, we are the Raaaideerhzz, Pride and Poise, Commitment to Excellence, Just Win Baby, they’re not even on our block, not even our city, country, planet!
We have a tradition of winning, dont let these past 8 years fool ya we are not and we will not be those Raiders we’ve been seeing this past decade, we’ve been A LOT better than that and we’re back baby!
Hard hitting secondary, relentless attack on the QB, the deep ball, that’s who we are its trademark baby! No fucking Detroit Kittens are gonna come and steal our Mojo, they are perennial losers, they’ll never even come close to what we are…
Be proud Raider Nation, we’re back and it all starts tomorrow at the Coliseum…
Gooooooooo Raaaaaaaiiiiideeeeeerrrrrhhhhzzzzzz!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! Here's to a possible Raider victory and a playoffs bid.
Cheers!!!! GO RRRRRAAAAAIIIIIDEEERRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just want the Raiders to win
Playoffs are gravy. No more losing, no more. 500 mediocrity. We are an elite organization and we need to play like one no matter what else happens.

I understand your being a big fan of DMAc, as I am too. I just think it would be ideal if we can sign bush, play him for a few games, and then trade for some great picks or players.
The most exciting thing i was able to experience after getting my drivers license was going to see Bo Jackson play on Sundays. I was at the game when he made that killer gain against the Bengals and ultimately took him out of the league. The following game was the Conference championship against the Bills and on gameday the team informed that he was “questionable”. Well we know how that story panned out. It just seems that every back that is/was known to run “hard” had short careers. And the ones that were injury prone had even shorter careers. I’ll put money on the fact that Adrian Peterson’s dominating days are behind him. I like Dmac, the dude is a STUD, but he ain’t worth the money if he’s a spectator most of the time, kinda like Namndi (which is probably why Davis let him go).
agreed
Earl Campbell, Jim Brown, Christian Okoye etc. Brandon Jacobs fits the mold as well. There’s a reason guys the size of Payton, Sanders, and Emmitt Smith make the best backs.

Come on Raiders! Lets win this one, Raider Nation is behind you!
Its been a bumpy few years to get here. We have a shot at making the playoffs, all I can do is ask for the Raiders to come out and give 100% on the field. If that happens than I like our chances at a win. If that results in a playoff spot or not for us, I would still be pleased that we ended the season on high note and it is always a bonus beating the chargers. Happy new years everyone, and lets start 2012 on a winning note!

XMAS 4 RAIDERS TOMORROW
We will dominate and the O Coliseum will be rocking and shaking while the Chiefs will have themselves a tebow sandwich.
If our D had some more depth I could see the Raiders sitting @ 11-5 right in week 17 (BILLS/LIONS) D meltdowns and all the other almost comebacks that had me on the edge of my seat.
Anyways GO RAIDERS Rock The House Tomorrow.
I wont be able to be at the game...
But please Nation be as loud as u can, our team needs every one of us, everytime I’m at the games i can barely speak at the end for all of the screaming when the opposing O is on the field, our guys on D get pumped up when they hear us roar and make plays to make a difference…
I really wish I could be there, lets bring the passion the energy and may the 12th man be heard and feared…I know I’ll be screaming like a banshee at the TV lol, lets all unite and beat those sissy ass Chargirls!
Lets Just Win Baby!
Cheers my brethren and enjoy the game!
The Year Of The Raider Is Now!!... AFCW Chaps/"WC" or Bust!!
Even on your west coast…Only Hawaii is still behind…Hell this year is already more than 16hrs past new here!!
I will NOT be satisfied nor happy without the "PO"s this season…9-n-7 don’t mean much to me nor the Raiders who would have scoffed at that in the now distant past…
I posted 11-n-5 at the start of the season and Dammit only 11-n-7 with a shot in the “SB” will satisfy that now…
Well I will be glad to see 10-n-7 too!!
Just Win Baby!!!
"Tebowphobe"!!!
Normal Raider Expectations: "J-Mac" Lays It Out Here...Time Is Now To Leve It All On The Field!!
The Raiders have made the playoffs 21 times, the most of any original AFL member, but haven’t played in the postseason since 2002, when they won their third straight AFC West title and lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII.
Palmer, who twice led the Bengals to division titles
“I think we’ve been through some tough times together and we’ve been through some good times together,” Jackson said. “Now hopefully we can get on a run here and play the way I know this team can play. I still haven’t seen this team play its best football.”
"Tebowphobe"!!!
Good post MAK
It all comes down to this. We NEED to win! forget playoff scenarios, the haters, the ESPN mediot pundits. NONE OF THAT MATTERS IF WE DONT WIN! Do I want us to go to the playoffs? absolutely! Would I love for us to repeat what we did in 1980? You fuckin know I do! But if we dont win NONE of it matters!
I BELIEVE we can and will win!
I BELIEVE that Al and the entire Raider Nation is going to WILL us to VICTORY!
I BELIEVE the Kansas City Chiefs are going to do us a solid and beat the donks just so they don’t have to hear me call them the que%#s for the next year!
I BELIEVE in CP3 and Hue!
I BELIEVE that TODAY is the start of our beloved OAKLAND RAIDERS return to GLORY!
I BELIEVE the panda will be fired! and we will get a REAL DC next season!
So drink the koolaid boys and be proud of being a Homer! Wear your t-shirts and Jerseys! Wear your hats and Jackets! I damn sure will be!
RAIDER NATION
"Just Win Baby" is not a philosophy, it is a way of life!
And
It being the last regular season game of the year (and I having been reminded of it by a Bears fan in their forum), I have a much belated question to ask about football games in California…
Exactly which “genius” thought it was a good idea for games on the West Coast to start at 10 AM? I realize coming from the Midwest that games starting at noon are perfect for THEM because for those church goers, they have time to get mass over with, get home and turn the game on. And if they’re not, at least they got to sleep in. I know I did back then.
I’m no longer in the party scene, but I imagine many are going to be watching this game with brutal hangovers, no?
i am hungover as shit lol

Damn, Jackie Battle just got put on IR ...
Didn’t even know he got hurt in the game against us last week.
So the Chefs are down to their #3 back, Thomas Jones, for this Denver game. That is really not helpful for us.
ANYWAYS, while it would be sweet to get to the post-season, all I REALLY REALLY want … is to sweep the friggin Chargers again for the 2nd straight year, and have our first winning season in 9 years.
And while we’re at it, I sure would like to see ONE, just ONE … start-to-finish ass-kicking get handed out by this team this season …
Regardless of what happens today, as long as we win, I will have all the confidence that next year this team will be a force to be reckoned with.
GO RAIDERS (and Chiefs, and Jets, and Ravens, and Texans)!!!
Man, oh, man I wish I was going today. SO JEALOUS OF ALL YOU FUCKERS WHO ARE GOING. MAKE SOME NOISE FOR ME!!!!
I know a lot of people hate Randy Moss
But this guy needs to be erased from Raider history for his bs.
he absolutely hasno love from Raider Nation left
He was suppose to be a leader and instead he was a worthless pile of dung. He deflects any blame for those Raiders teams when he was somebody who was suppose to lead those teams. He was suppose to do what Seymour has for us. Its cool to see the difference of somebody with true character compared to that asshole.
