As I sat back and cursed every player on the Dolphins last Sunday, I began to loathe my team. It rarely happens, often due to being too drunk to care. However, I was sober and watched it all. Then I watched Tebow take it to the Vikings. Then I saw the Chiefs won by some miracle hail mary and stout defense. Needless to say, I nearly vomited in my mouth. I was reminded again why I hate those teams. Again, I digress. I found myself angry when certain Raiders were seen laughing and celebrating plays when they were down by 34 points. I lost that anger when I saw that our main guys (Palmer, Reece, Bush, DHB, etc.) did not. They knew what was happening. I liked that. Then I asked myself the big question; are we any good?
No bullshit Raider Nation. Take your Kool Aid and please put it to the side (yes Panty Raider, even you). No bias points of view. Look from the outside on this organization. We have a rookie head coach. Good motivator, runs a decent offense, and many of you really, really dislike our D coordinator at the moment. We lost our owner, the most hands on owner in the league no less. Injuries have bitten us hard on the butt, but this is the NFL so no excuses. Hue doesn't make any, I expect none of us will either. McFadden is a ginger man it would seem, but when he is healthy he can be the difference in many games. I know this, but are his glass like feet worth all this "if only DMC was here" talk? Our receivers are all pretty young and impressive (except alligator arms Murphy this year), but even healthy are they as good as say Green Bay, New England, Dallas, or any team with a legit QB? Overall, I think we are all right, but far from good. Our defense needs a legitimate ball hawk safety, they all need to tackle better, our LB's need to cover better, our D Line needs a fresh face who can dominate, and most of all we need a new coordinator. I like the direction of the offense right now. It will look better next year. This year, up and down. And ST's, we need to block better and clear lanes for Ford or McCann or whoever is running back something. Also, gap discipline would be nice for the entire D. Well Nation, let me know, because lately I don't see a contending team out there.
