Who the Raiders should target if they don't re-sign Asomugha

Now that the Raiders have spent a few dollars on re-signing Stanford Routt, Kamerion Wimbley, and John Henderson it is believed that they won't be able to get Nnamdi Asomugha under contract. If that ends up being true there is no need for the Raider Nation to hit the panic button.

There are plenty of solid corners set to hit the open market when the free agent period begins. Champ Bailey was a name that was thrown around but he already re-signed to stay in Denver. I wasn't really big on Bailey anyway. He is 33 years old and his best days are behind him.

Here go a few guys I would like to see wearing Silver & Black next season. The first is Johnathon Joseph from the Cincinatti Bengals. Like Asomugha he is a big physical corner. He does well in man coverage which is something you need to be good at if you play for the Raiders.

Another CB the Raiders might go after is Antonio Cromartie. He has everything Al Davis wants his corners to have. He is tall and has elite speed. Depending on his price tag I can see Al Davis making an offer to Cromartie once the free agent period starts.

Other possibilities are Brent Grimes from Atlanta or veteran Ike Taylor from the Steelers. Brent Grimes is a smaller CB but he has all the ability to be an excellent corner. He has an insane vertical and isn't afraid to mix it up with big WRs. Ike Taylor is one of those players that brings it everyday. He is very consistent and rarely gets beat for a big play. If we can't get Nnamdi back Taylors veteran presence would be something the Raiders need.

Well that's all I got for now. What do you guys think about the Nnamdi Asomugha situation? Can the Raiders re-sign him? Will the Raiders be OK with Stanford Routt and one of the guys I mentioned? Tell me what you think. Images_medium
