Oakland Raiders: Re-sign Michael Bush or Target a RB In The NFL Draft?

Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush is set to hit the open market once the free agent period begins. He is expected to explore all options which include seeking a team that would offer him their starting role. The fact that Al Davis has already signed a handful of his players makes you wonder how much of a priority is Michael Bush in the eyes of Davis. He seemed like he envisioned Bush as a big part of the Raiders future at the Hue Jackson press conference but that was before Michael Bush was arrested a couple weeks ago.

If that or something else has changed Al's mind on Michael Bush, here go a few prospects the Raiders might target in the NFL Draft.

Daniel Thomas 6'2" 230 lbs Kansas State

He is a very strong inside runner. He runs with a very good lean which allows him to pick up those few extra yards before he is brought down. That was McFadden's problem his first two years. He ran too high. Thomas has that down already. He lacks the break away speed for outside runs but we won't need him for that. He has very good hands and has a lot of experience splitting out wide. He is projected to go in the third round so I don't know if Al Davis will want to use on of his first two picks on a RB.

Jamie Harper 5'11" 235 lbs Clemson

He is known to be a very physical runner. He along with McFadden can be a bruising duo. What I really like about Harper is that he is excellent catching passes out of the backfield. He runs with determination. He doesn't have top end speed but does have exceptional burst and acceleration to pick up yards in chunks. He is also very good in pass protection. I wouldn't mind if we get Jacoby Ford's college teammate in the fourth round.

Delone Carter 5'9" 227 lbs Syracuse

He has a very thick build and can handle the punishment of the NFL. You can't bring him down with an arm tackle. He is known for running over DBs and taking LBs for a ride. He also runs with a good body lean and always falls forward when tackled. He is solid in pass protection and if he falls to the fourth or fifth round he could be a steal.

Well that's all I got for now. I just wanted your take on Micheal Bush and whether we should draft a RB. Is there another RB coming out this year that you want to see in Silver & Black? Let me know.
