I know I've previously made many mocks with many trades but I figure, how can it be a somewhat close mock draft if we cant predict if the CBA will be done for trades and if those trades will happen at all. I do however believe a CBA will get done with a few weeks so lets all just pray.
Heres my mock draft for 2011, please let me know what you think and if you have criticisms, please tell me your own mock draft or how you would change mine.
2nd Round Pick 48th Overall:
The Oakland Raiders select: Stefen Wisniewski G/C 6'3 313 Penn State
I've heard a lot of arguing on Satele's level of play lately from S&B Pride, so that makes Wiz an even better pick. If Satele shows hes improved this offseason, Wiz can play either Guard position. Also, Hue's face lit up when asked about Wiz at the combine and he talked on and on about how impressive of a player he is. Many think he may go in the 1st but his stock if falling dramatically for some reason that I dont know. If we dont take Wiz i think we take Jimmy Smith, HIS STOCK IS FALLING RIDICULOUSLY, once considered top 15, now considered a mid 2nd round pick because he hasnt taken responsibility for actions that got him penalized in college. Considered to have attitude problems but damnit lets get mean again if he's available. 3rd Round Pick 81st Overall:
The Oakland Raiders select: Bruce Carter OLB 6'3 241 UNC
Many have argued that Carter is not the answer but you havent seen him play and CBS as well as every other Professional sports analyst in the World beg to differ. I heard on here someone compared him Kirk Morrison? Really haha, talking when not knowing what you're talking about. Morrison was famous for sitting back letting things develop and then when the man reaches his area then he tries to tackle. We need an attack OLB and thats what Carter is and is very good in pass covere(ran a 4.39 40) Had knee reconstruction surgery so this 1st round talent is expected to fall to the Mid 3rd round which is where we pick. 4th Round Pick 116th Overall:
The Oakland Raiders select: Jaiquawn Jarrett S 6' 205 Temple
Huff may walk, I like Michael Huff but for the money he will be demanding, I dont think we give him. Our system is ridiculous hard and it took the Thorpe award winner 5 years to understand at and play well. But Jarrett is different. Played strictly single high safety in college, hard hitter, very fast, great in coverage, good hands, team leader, and has the speed and smooth hips to play corner and bump and run. Great pick for probably less than half of what we would have to pay Huff. 5th Round Pick 153rd Overall:
The Oakland Raiders select: Cortez Allen CB 6'2 200 Citadel
With Nnamdi maybe on his way out, Cortez Allen is a big body with great speed and man to man cover skills. Has all the makings of a star in the NFL as a press bump and run corner. Al loves size and speed so I have a hard time believing this kid wont be our pick in the later rounds. Now I dont know forsure if Nnamdi is gone like everybody else is, I believe Al has a plan in place, to keep Nnamdi. So many will use the "Al doesnt have money, you're dreaming excuse" WRONG! with Gallery, Carlisle, and maybe Huff gone, we have saved a ton of money. If Al loses Nnamdi, it wont be because of money. If we do keep Nnamdi, my pick here would be Martin Parker DT from Richmond. 6th Round Pick 189th Overall:
The Oakland Raiders select: Tyrod Taylor QB 6'1 217 Virginia Tech
I've recently seen many argue that Tolzien is are guy, then Enderle, Potts, Portis, and McCelroy whenthe fact of the matter is, Tyrod Taylor is a better fit to our team than any of them. Taylor had a 24-5 TD-INT Ratio which is great for a mobile QB, he learned how to read defenses, has a pretty accurate arm which you can always improve and can make any throw. With our O-line struggles and the young O-line we are putting together, growing pains are going to happen. He ran a 4.4 at the game, his only knock is he is 6'1 so scouts shy away. I feel Taylor deserves a shot in the NFL, and after a 2-3 years of learning behind Campbell, Jackson and Saunders, he will take over and shine. Al loves Athletes and they dont get much better than this guy with his arm and his feet. 7th Round Pick 224th Overall:
The Oakland Raiders select: Ryan Bartholomew C 6'1 302 Syracuse
Why break tradition of taking the best Offensive Lineman athelete in the draft. This is as insurance because I am not comfortable with our backup center...wait who? haha, this kid was a standout at the combine, a finalist for the Rimington award. He is a great 7th round value pick, will most likely sit and learn and bulk up. He's a hard worker so I dont see that being a problem. He played guard before and who knows, if Wiz develops into a mauler, stud offensive guard, and this guy develops into a monster at C, it is one of our best drafts ever. In 2-3 years, Wiz, Barthalomew, Campbell on the inside with Taylor behind center, a mean athletic group of RRRRaidas. 7th Round Pick: Compensatory
The Oakland Raiders select: DeAndre Brown WR 6'6 230 Southern Miss
I am not sure how the second half of the 7th Round goes but I am sure we will get some sort of a compensatory pick because every year teams get 2-3 more 7th round picks that they just give away. Well we gladly find a gem with this pick. Calvin Johnson size, speed, and hands. Hindered by injuries his junior year, but is a beast and plays with a mean streak which is what we need. Was a star his freshman year but fell off after breaking his leg. I feel this will be a Marques Colston level of a steal. A loves Height Weight Speed A.K.A DeAndre Brown.
